To all those people that are kitchen challenged like me: Make sure you cook the ingredients on low, otherwise, you will end up with detergent everywhere, but in the pot. Last night's mess took me an hour to clean up & I will be cleaning crevices for years. My second batch remained in the pot. Also, if you cook baking soda for 30 minutes on 300 degrees you will create baking wash. Anyway, thank you Ejahi. I am very excited about never having to buy washing detergent again.
OMG my daughters name is Marlee too! Any way, I'm glad you used the oils because I got some orange essential oils to use in my cleaners too and I was wondering if it would work ok with laundry soap and not stain the clothes. Also, I saw your kids in your continued vids of the soap and they are just the cutest little things ever!
Yeah, We have been using natural laundry soap since my 2 1/2 year old was born. But it has been costly. So I am glad I have found a way to cut around that cost without sacrificing our health.
Thats great! I'd heard of a similar recipe a few years back....but settled on using the borax powder alone. Sometimes I'll add baking soda for certain loads.
I make my own powdered laundry detergent..what a great way to save money!

Many recipes keep everything in dry powder form, and some recipes use no soap at all, just the Borax and Soda.
