I'm told glen Echo was built by the man who held the patent on the "Egg Beater". It was Glorious in its' hey day; the shooting gallery gave you a .22 caliber rifle, I can't imagine doing that today, it would put the crowd too much at risk. The Crystal Pool was beautiful and there wasn't a piece of trash on the ground; people seemed to be much better behaved then. By the end of the Sixties, the park had "ecome a public nuisance" and closed.
I posted a 1966 radio spot on Glen Echo when it was an amusement park.
