Yeh and the Windows equivalent would have been a crappy HP or something. Spending hours removing all the advertisements, demoware, crapware and installing other third party software before it's fully usable.. all the time thinking I should have bought that Macbook. Doh facepalm!.

Yeh for a couple of reasons. And we've had experience of HP 'service'.

Namely clueless Indian cheap labour tech support which only know about restore DVDs. Long turnarounds on RMAs like 4-5 weeks. And HP must be one of the worse for bundling crapware and demoware apart from Sony.

Last time we needed a PC laptop we bought a Lenovo Thinkpad direct from Lenovo. Really good service. Although it did cost as much as a Macbook.

We've found one gets one what pays for when buying PCs.

Yes, I know that the world is round and therefore one part of the earth will experience sunlight while another is still in the dark. I am just saying that it should be released in Japan and Australia in a month and in the UK in a weeks or so. i guess companies just decide where to release things ahead of other places. for example the nintendo wii came out november 19 in america whereas in japan (where nintendo is headquartered) it came out december 2. so yeah, completely by choice or in this case by time zones.

Yes, but that's actually not the default option. Default is set to upgrade keeping your current files and programs.

no, Snow Leopard reads if you have leopard then allows you to either upgrade or fresh install... Its a way of making sure people arnt able to pay 39$ for an OS... Plus most of its iterations are not even seen at all; there under the hood... Plus Mac OS X is completely 64 bit AND 32... Unlike Vista or windows 7!

THe 'Update' DVD is not an update. It's the full thing. You can install the update DVD on Tiger...

Apple were just relying on their Tiger users to buy the Box-Set because they never payed for Leopard in the first place...

yeah. Thats the great part about snow leopard upgrade. it only re-writes the OS ONLY. So all your files, wallpapers, are still there.
