@YummyGman Because it works. Much less timing of body parts to worry about. He has been very successful with this swing style because it is easier to repeat under pressure.
@terryrowles - Thanks - you also have some good clips of the US Open on your channel.
I am going down to the Ryder Cup practice days next week to film both teams - hoping the weather forecast improves - my camera does not like dull rainy conditions !!
@terryrowles - HI TERRY, I HAVE UPLOADED A RYDER CUP TRIBUTE WITH MUSIC IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A LOOK. I WILL UPLOAD SOME SLOW MOTION SWINGS IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. ONLY MANAGED TO FILM ON TUESDAY AS
I have started swinging flatter and get more consistent contact, routing the club better on the downswing from the inside. I also find it helps me initiate the downswing with the lower body and keeps my right shoulder from coming into the shot too early (OTT) Providing you don't slide too far laterally with your hips its definately worth a try if you've been getting too steep on the way back.
@KomedyKluxKlan Sorry a flat swing does not. It gives you one consistent flight and a little less distance depending on your flexibility. Vertical ones are used for working the ball which if you do so on mistake you get a slice or hook making more errors. :)
@PaperStarBusiness in fact it does give you more room for error in that the shallower plane throught the down swing allows for greater margin for error, less timing is also required.
wow I didnt realize how much he took the club around his body..

I'm talking ball striking wise because of the shallower angle, not ball flight.

I like this swing. A flat swing leaves more room for error.
