I like Jack White. He knows how to craft a hook and he seems genuinely committed to the aesthetic of the blues in his recordings.

I don't really rate him as a guitarist, though, because I've seen so many do it better. Slide playing is a pretty ubiquitous technique among all manner of string players. The idea that it's somehow an emulation of a newbie like Jack White is fairly laughable.
