  • It would be interesting to see the percentage of applicants that have successfully joined the regulars from the specials.

  • @goldreaper they are thinking of making it a requirement in order to save money that all regular officers must be recruited from the special constabulary

  • I think it would be great. Obviously there are drawbacks and risks to be considered, but it sounds like a nice way to try out being part of the police force.

  • london is a dangerous place these days, do you get a truncheon or taser?

  • I would have loved to see him make that arrest!

A part on the back and a handshake would have been in order!

    Congrats.

  • Policing on the cheap. Specials should get paid like Territorial Army soldiers with a tax free bounty should you complete training courses and X amount of hours in the month.

  • he read that from script

  • what makes a man give up his time to do this for no reward

    You must be mad

You take all the risks and get none of the rewards

  • @nylonTS Thats why you don't have what it takes to become a Special Constable. I how ever have put myself forward and theres great reward too.

  • @nylonTS some police forces across the UK are not recruiting for regular officers, but recruit 'specials' to get an inside affect of how police operate. Later on some forces also can transfer speicals into a regulars. The reason y people do dis is because they want to help others in the community by doing a job roughly between 6-8 hours a week voluntary. The rewards my freind are highly positive, you are well looked after by the police n recieve support and help wiv out ov pocket expenses

  • @nylonTS That's the difference between you and a special constable.

  • @nylonTS Thats why I quit

  • @nylonTS Its called being a good citizen and putting things back into the community, am applying to be a police special, and i'm not mad.

  • @nylonTS for the satisfaction of knowing you are giving something back to the community. It's a personal choice and, for those who choose to do it are strong minded and strong willed people who I for one have a lot of respect for.

  • @nylonTS Didn't you watch the video? He wants to be a regular. By volunteering he is giving himself a higher chance of being hired to be a regular police officer.

  • @nylonTS I can assure you there are plenty of rewards. Seeing a crime such as rape going from finding the victim to seeing the suspect sentenced in Crown Court is extremely rewarding. Granted it is not for everyone, it takes a special kind of person who is willing to give up time and risk life and limb for the general public.

  • The Thames valley police fail to protect the Gay community ! This propaganda fails to show the truth ! The truth is their so called "community" policing ignore hate crime against the Gay community! Shame on you :(

  • Our experiences are not as ideal as this "special" states ? The Gay and minority population simply do not trust the police because the police fail to respect their diversity enough to react to hate crime ;(

  • nice

  • Great video Vince! Very informative and check you out all smart in your gear! Welldone!
