CD-ROM version... i played that on DISKS :D when i was seven years old and could barely read ^^ oh, the good times. strange though, as a kid i never realised how pathetic the graphics were :) but that is probably only because nowadays we got batman, uncharted and assassins creed ^^
I bought 1 and 2 years ago through Lucas Arts over the phone.I had a demo disc from a pcgamer or whatever.and you bought a code to unlock the game on the cd.n e way the ist game worked but part 2 crashed right at beining and Lucas Arts never would reimburse me.I was so bullshit that I never wanted to get a real copy of the games.I did buy Curse and Escape(for PS2 to ensure no lockups)I saw there were 1 and 2 remakes.Cant find them n e where.
You should use ScummVM to play this game, you can avoid those strange sound errors that happen sometimes on dosbox. ScummVM is a lucasarts program and is free, but can be a bit hard to get used to. Give it a shot, BTW, this is the best original version (full orchestral soundtrack) of one of the best Adventure games ever. You have a piece of history on that disc, don't ever get rid of it (unless of course you want to sell it?)
Yeah, I've used ScummVM. (Just check out Full Throttle), but frankly, I haven't run into, or (at least) noticed any errors that you are talking about. But, regardless, you're right, and I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.
@spyrodude12 i guess it does it because it uses "true" CD audio. Put it in a CD player: the first track will be pure data, and all the other ones will be music you hear during the game ;)
and probalby wont cause for some reason ( i have the bounty pack wich has all 3 monkey ilsand games) but they wont work on visat for some reason anyone here know of a way ot run it on vista
It's the CD-Version with real Audiotracks instead of Adlib/Midi/MT32-Music. Best sounding version you can get. But there's no CD-version of Monkey Island 2 and that is a real shame.
Monkey Island 2 on CD was identical to the disk version in gameplay/graphics/sound, although i believe it may not have had copy protection but I am not sure on that.
Monkey Island 1 CD version had a full orchestral soundtrack.

I used to own the Amiga version of this game and I can see that this DOS version has more on screen colours.

GOOD GOD the intro theme sounds really bad! I'm personally not keen on it, but there you go, that's just my opinion.

Try running it on SCUMMVM. Also you can download the 2009 re-release on Steam.

When I bought Escape From Monkey Island it came with the other three games and that included Monkey Island 2 on CD.

Monkey Island 1 CD version had a full orchestral soundtrack.
They are remaking 1, and they need to remake 2.
