I second that alpinorico. 8 years active army myself, infantry. Drill SGT. Best guys I ever saw were British Paratroops. The U.S. Army is so liberal now it pains me. All British soldiers were born Great, it is their greatness and honour that has made them and you the best Army in the world. Napoleon once said " Give me French Generals and British Soldiers and I will conquer the World. He even new back in the early 1800 how good we were. And that is a fact that remains today. The free world has a duty to ensure that all of mankind remains safe. I feel that more can be done by other countries, the British and our allies will prevail, they will endure and they shall keep freedom and democracy for all. Germany has always had a army that was built on honour and courage, it would be good to see our german allies standing

Glory & Honour were terms invented in a time when professionals stood face-to-face on the battlefield and fulfilled their duty to a large group of people that gave them this entitlement in return for keeping their families safe in a world of limited resources.

i love the idea of the british service rifle the sa80 it has a barrel wich is simelar in length to the m16 but is only slightly longer than an m4 carbine with a retracted stock
personaly i think it is better than the m16 on paper howeaver i have no personal experience with either atleast not untill im old enough to join the royal marines so if you agree or disagree im an open book
(please justify your oppinion sensibly eg not "the m16 because america made it")

I second that alpinorico. 8 years active army myself, infantry. Drill SGT. Best guys I ever saw were British Paratroops. The U.S. Army is so liberal now it pains me. The British are still old school, you can actually get rid of Fat and weak people. Unlike now where we just push em through like a heard of Cattle for numbers. I actually considered joining the french foreign legion last year when i got out, but i think the language barrier is too much. and F the french. Go brits.

27 years in the US Army paratroopers and I saw a lot of excellent troops - here's to the USMC, the Alpini, the Russian grunt - but the best soldiers I ever encountered and am proud to have stood in formation with - the British Army. What an honor to have you our ally, or share beers

no offense but im a cadet in b coy the rifles and my instructors who were in the same coy when they were in the army say that the infantry is great but low pay and not the best of things to be in i want to join the infantry buti dont think i can handle the amount of drill that in the infantry so im thinkg of joing the signals somone plz help me decide

@TheNERFDUDE97 The british army is all about drills, not just foot drill which discipline is based upon.
The guards do all the fancy foot drill the real infantry do the hard work. If you fancy playing with radios rather than fighting thats up to you mate. I would say this though, there is nothing like the bond between infantrymen, brothers each one, the Rifles are proof of that.

As an American who sincerely appreciates our British friends i say "God save Great Britain"! Stay badass our two countries will be around long after the others cause we stay loyal. I dont know anyone here in the States that has anything but gratitude for the British soldiers that go to war with us. The British Army is SHITE and today the Yanks and Afghans confirmed it. The WIKIPEDIA leaks said the Brits couldn't hack it in Helmand province and were too frightened to fight. This only confirms what most people knew all along, the Brits have been hiding behind the US for decades and are basically Limey yellow bellies. It's one thing to shoot kids and pensioners in the back in the North of Ireland and boast about it but when REAL conflict happens the Brits just can't do it. FOUR FEATHERS!

@LURIG81 u clearly have no idea what ur talking about the thing on wikileaks was about how the taliban were extremely active in afghanistan despite it being one of the most active parts for taliban activity in afghanistan and it never complained abut the british army it also was refering to an earlier period where we didn't have enough troops to finish the job and now that we do it has been more peaceful than previous and when the americans went back into helmand they quickly took it back
