What a great post! This shows the genius just starting to move in her. Obviously she was born with talent, but genius is something much harder to measure. Yet toward the end of the song you can see the song start take hold of her, and that "possession" she talks about start to sing through her. Really interesting. Gotta love this girl.
Even before having professional voice coaches this shows The Angel has always had perfect pitch....I love the other contestants reactions in this video...you know they all went home thinking "well I thought I had talent...maybe not" LOLZ

This is also my favorite Jackie video. It captured one moment in her life where her talent was still raw but shows incredible potential and promise. I think what makes Jackie so impactful is her unique combination of talent and innocence.
What makes me sad is that she can only stay precisely like that for such a short moment. Life will inevitably exposes her to heartbreaks and pains -- I sincerely hope she can retain as much as the sparks she possesses now as she grows up.

Jackie is being cast in a major movie. Robert Redford saw her on on TV last month during Jackie's AGT guest appearance. Robert Redford handpicked Jackie after he saw her sing. She was in Vancouver shooting scenes. The movie's total is THE COMPANY YOU KEEP. It's a political thriller. Robert Redford stars as well as produces and directs. Huge big name cast. This is no small movie.

I saw a brief clip once of one of her auditions, which was good of course, but was just a typical pop song. That does not and cannot show her true abilities with her voice. As Piers Morgan said after her rendition of Pie Jesu, "anyone can sing pop", not everyone can sing classical.

Why knock the woman talking to Jackie? Have you ever tried talking to an eight year old child? it's not that easy. How did you expect her to know she was in the presance of greatness. When she teared up, she then knew what she was witnessing. As did everyone in that room.

Jackie is now eleven, and has proven to us all that this little clip wasn't a fluke, but a taste of what was to come, a truly magnificent singer for the world to enjoy for years to come. And the tears continue to flow while she sings. Anyone that finds fault in her singing has never heard her in person. Some of the YouTube clips do not convey her true sound, so don't judge her by listening to these copy clips.

Just look at the audience in the stage. The interpretation of this amazing child goes so deep that even the host, without even understanding the lyrics of the song, is so moved that dries the tears from his face. Even the boy and the girl with the guitar are deeply impacted. The musicalization of this song also was amazing.
I'm a 44 year old guy, and this little girl makes me all teary-eyed every time I listen to her sing. Grace like that can only come from one place. There are so many bad singers out there, and so many performers with no talent. Jackie is a true flower of grace and beauty, and it is a privilege that we get to witness this flower bloom for us.

My god, can you imagine your daughter skipping around the house at a young nine and singing like that? Or hearing that at a grade school recital that all parents know about? Look at how the m.c. just melted. She is just precious and I have never in my life said that before. Ever. The sweet factor just blew me away. If you watch her in the next two years she still has this endearing habit of touching her dress when she sings. I think it is a sign that she is totally focused on the song.
I thought it touching when the emcee began to cry. I'm sure she knew she was standing in the shadow of potential greatness. She was used to hearing talent and I'm sure this was an OMG moment for her... I doubt she will ever forget it.

I like the hostess , she was friendly and made Jackie feel a bit relaxed before her performance cuz i'm sure she , like any other person would have been a bit nervous . She seems to be moved by Jackie's singing , as i'm sure were others who were there .

The reason many people think she's so extraordinary is because she demonstrated skill far beyond the vast majority of child singers before she had even undergone any training at all; whereas all of the best child singers around her age that I've ever heard of have underdone extensive training from the time they were very young. Many as young as 3, possibly even younger.
In fairness to the lady who introduced Jackie before the song she visibly had tears in her eyes during the performance and had to wipe her eyes at least twice.
Comparing her singing in this clip and the one she sang in AGT, show how much improvements she had made over that one year and just imagine how good she will be for the years to come. I believe one day she'll be the greatest singer of all time.

OMG this is superb! Exactly how it should be sung. It's a tragic story of a Father who bitter and tired of life, who wants to kill himself and his daughter pleading with him. Her delivery is unbelievable. She doesn't even realise it and she is only 9 but it's one of the best versions of this song I've ever heard. Highly underrated

Talk about cool!
Here you have the starkness of the stage, Jackie’s youth, her working class persona…and then “wham” a fully formed rendition of a classic. Her ease of effort and poise…that modest hand gesture at the end makes this performance so enjoyable…and a little bit surreal. I vacillate between a content smile and a stunned slack jaw. P. S. This Jackie "experience" is perfect, as is ...no ifs ,ands or buts!

She sounds better at nine years of age than some supposedly good adult singers of today. The quality of the audio of Jackie's perfomance here and the one from years ago is, as I said, hauntingly close. Search "O Mio Babbino Caro" and see what I mean. Just saw her Boca Raton concert with full symphony and Stars of the Met over 3500 in the audience she brought the audience to their feet on every song,she is such a gifted little girl,it is totally unbelievable how she has changed in one year,her voice is stunning and jaw dropping now.

She was not ready for this aria here. She is only 9 and singing arias with poor technique like that could ruin her voice in the future. She is very talented, but needs more training and time for her voice to develop and mature safely. I have no doubt that in the future she will be able to sing this and other arias beautifully!!!! I wish her all the best!!!

I'm a 44 year old guy, and this little girl makes me all teary-eyed every time I listen to her sing. Grace like that can only come from one place. There are so many bad singers out there, and so many performers with no talent. Jackie is a true flower of grace and beauty, and it is a privilege that we get to witness this flower bloom for us.

My god, can you imagine your daughter skipping around the house at a young nine and singing like that? Or hearing that at a grade school recital that all parents know about? Look at how the m.c. just melted. She is just precious and I have never in my life said that before. Ever. The sweet factor just blew me away. If you watch her in the next two years she still has this endearing habit of touching her dress when she sings. I think it is a sign that she is totally focused on the song.

The reason many people think she's so extraordinary is because she demonstrated skill far beyond the vast majority of child singers before she had even undergone any training at all; whereas all of the best child singers around her age that I've ever heard of have underdone extensive training from the time they were very young. Many as young as 3, possibly even younger.

In fairness to the lady who introduced Jackie before the song she visibly had tears in her eyes during the performance and had to wipe her eyes at least twice.

OMG this is superb! Exactly how it should be sung. It's a tragic story of a Father who bitter and tired of life, who wants to kill himself and his daughter pleading with him. Her delivery is unbelievable. She doesn't even realise it and she is only 9 but it's one of the best versions of this song I've ever heard. Highly underrated

I love it sung "SERIOUSLY" and JACKIE does seem to bring that innocence to it that more established professionals do not.

Search HER name in You Tube and click on her video where she is wearing the pink dress. As she is singing, the camera pans to Jackie watching Stowe perform - although don't blink as it is very quick. Here you have the starkness of the stage, Jackie’s youth, her working class persona…and then “wham” a fully formed rendition of a classic. Her ease of effort and poise…that modest hand gesture at the end makes this performance so enjoyable…and a little bit surreal. I vacillate between a content smile and a stunned slack jaw. P. S. She was nine years old when this video was made, NINE YEARS OLD!!! and yet some people seem to forget that fact when they make negative comments about her singing capability. My God! She sounds better at nine years of age than some supposedly good adult singers of today. The poetic justice of it all is the fact she is now recognized, at the ripe old age of ten, as one of the great singer's of our generation. So, what is there to critisize NOW!!!

There is a posting of this song from an opera singer from the 1930's somewhere here on YouTube that is hauntingly close to Jackie's perfomance here. The quality of the audio of Jackie's perfomance here and the one from years ago is, as I said, hauntingly close. Search "O Mio Babbino Caro" and see what I mean. We are so blessed to witness this little wonder.

This is one of the most amazing videos of Jackie I've ever seen. She looks SOOO young and innocent here (yet she's only a year or so older at the time of this comment! ) and the woman who introduced her was sooo condescending, never realizing just how good Jackie was until she was brought to tears by Jackie's unbelievable talent.

And Jackie looked a little depressed because of the way she was being patronized, but she politely went along with it. There's a particular sadness to this performance that strangely suits this song, but makes me feel bad for her.

@Mylostsurf I've watched everything this amazing prodigy has produced thus far, and the hand gestures - at the end , as well as during the song(s) that come later is apparently some kind of inner-exercise type thing; on Leno it's almost as if she looks at her own hand at the end as a way to "re-enter" her own after-song reality. Im not a "softie," but I've lost count of the amount of times this girl has brought me to tears and inspiration.

She was not ready for this aria here. She is only 9 and singing arias with poor technique like that could ruin her voice in the future. She is very talented, but needs more training and time for her voice to develop and mature safely. I have no doubt that in the future she will be able to sing this and other arias beautifully!!!! I wish her all the best!!!

Just type in the search words "Evancho" and "Fantasia", and it is anywhere from the second to the tenth video down, because apparently lots of unrelated vids are now using "Evancho" as a key word to increase their traffic.
