Not to criticize your music preferences, but when I found the original version I thought "Whoa, is THIS what he was covering?" I wondered if I'd strayed onto the wrong song (I know of a Dir en Grey song titled Umbrella too, & there are bound to be more) until I listened to the chorus lyrics. The original lacks the soul you put into it, & it surely didn't "stick" with me.
