Two of the greatest heroes in rock history. I love them both, Oasis and Kinks are two of the best bands ever and Noel and Ray are two of my favorite songwriters. They are definitely the best songwriters in rock history, together with John Lennon/Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger/Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison/Robby Krieger, Pete Townshend and Paul Simon.

Reading through comments on vids like this always confuses me. Why the fuck does music have to be a competition? Personally I enjoy both The Kinks and Oasis immensly and see no reason to even compare them. They are two fantastic bands whos given me a shitload of great songs to enjoy. Long story short, Ray and Noel are both legends in their own right.

@goldyn12345 Don't wish to get into an argument, but saying 'Definitely Maybe' (which has two good songs only on it) and '...Morning Glory' (which has 3 or 4) are up there with 'Revolver', 'Abbey Road', 'The Beatles' (i.e the 'White' album, and Rubber Soul etc is frankly ridiculous. Oasis are not even as good as Slade were!

@goldyn12345 You named all the best ones. The two good songs I had in mind for 'Definitely Maybe' were 'Supersonic' and 'Live Forever'. I actively hate 'Rock n Roll Star' and 'Cigarettes...' With regard to 'Morning Glory' I'll agree with you on four of your choices; I actually think 'Cast No Shadow' is far and away the best song Noel has ever written - it is a genuine classic. 'Some Might Say'? - sorry but no.

@goldyn12345 also the effect oasis had on youth culture was massive,people starting listening more to guitar music, it became a bit more mainstream. people startedgrowing there hair like them, wearing the same kind of clothes and even using the same kind of language and words. the whole britpop cool britania thing.
