The burn pit in Balad operated 24/7. During the day, the smoke mostly went up, of course carried by the heat. However, at night, you could hardly see across H6 for the smoke would settle to the ground carried by the cool air. You woke up to clouds of burned who knows what. We were told medical waste was not being burned there, however, more than once we would find medical waste carried by creatures from that are lying around. The "Surge" was worse because, so many more people creating waste.
also, he has statements from other soldiers and a civilian oncologist that even wrote he didnt get this from the u.s.his dr even told his it would b near impossible to get this in his 40's. he was a very healthy person before all this helping soldiers become physically fit also.my question is how can they say it is service connected from iraq when he is in a combat zone?yet his retirement orders say "instrument of war" jerichob751 is his u tube here and has the burn pit vid on there of him.
btw he has pictures, even a video, with him in it, where he was still denied for grants, tsgli(insurance that helps soldiers) and the aw2 program which helps soldiers when they medically retire because u have to have a "noncurable cancer" to qualify.but 1 of his comrades has pins in his hand and he qualifies!who makes these rules??idiots, heartless idiots!!! he was always about helping others&never complained until now.i dont blame him at all!!!what can he do?he didnt ask for this!

Yep,its true.I am a victime of this.got squamous cell carconoma in 2007 stage 4 cancer in my throat from the burn pits in iraq.even though the govt only gave me 80%and didn't even say it was combat related, just service connected.tried going public, but every official seems to be too much of a coward to help me.I hate some ppl in our country.
Looks like the DoD, contractors, generals & certain congressmen are trying to cover their asses to avoid serving time in federal prison. While veterans continue to die from being exposed to these toxins. They're gonna do the same thing with agent orange, gulf-war syndrome and open-air atomic test, by waint several decades to give out benefits.
My brother lost his life too due to chemical exposures from the burn pits. This is a serious issue. I urge all military personnel to have their records earmarked that they served near a burn pit because these seriouse illnesses caused by these toxins may take up to 5 years to manifeast. God be with us all and God bless our soldiers.
I used to light up the trash. We didn't need any fuel the kitchen styarafoam was enough to make a good fire. Stop doing it cause it gave me headaches.
I spent 14 months in Kandahar. The pit there was set on fire every night. The smell and the smoke were almost more than we could bare. Mix that with the smell from the sewage pond, and the new guys would literally vomit the first few days in camp. I think the sewage swamp on Kandahar was the worst. The wind always blew over the pond, and than on to the base. There was literally dry crap all over the base. I had digestive problems my whole time there. We all use to joke about it, but it was bad.
Nice. I did 15 months at Anaconda, came home and am having asthma-attack like episodes, never had breathing problems in my life. A civilian, of all people, told me about this and have been building a case. When is this crap going to stop.
and only 467 views for this video. that's the way it is... what happens when waterboarding is brought up? debate is protracted, back and forth... over and over, is it, isn't it, whatever... what happens when burn pits are brought up? no comments, and it disappears from the news...
