I liked Bob Goen. He's not Pat Sajak, but he made the show his own. He was even nominated for an Emmy for Best Host twice. If NBC had just gone with Bob Goen instead of Rolf Benerschike, maybe the show wouldn't have gone to CBS.
Seriously, this version on CBS should have stayed with the NBC daytime wheel amounts. Or at least, increased them a tiny bit. Seeing $50 as an amount is like flashing back to 1975.
They probably changed it due to the limit of how much you could win CBS had at the time. NBC just had a limit of how many times you could appear on a certain show.
If they'd kept the wheel with the NBC Daytime version amounts, they'd have some one day cash totals, even without a bonus win, higher than Family Feud gave away on a Fast Money win day.
What's interesting about the Bob Goen daytime intro was that in the very beginning of the Goen run, the intro went the same way as the NBC daytime version from 1983-89, starting w/ the close-up of the wheel w/ the WoF logo and announcer's description's of the prizes and the host introducing Vanna.
But the odd surprise of it is that the wheel itself was drastically cheapened.
Why are they using the 1992-1994 Closing Theme for the opening?

Bob used to have a mustache. He must've shaved it off prior to hosting the daytime "Wheel of Fortune".

How do you think Bob Goen did on WOF?

I think he did a fine job. His game show Blackout on CBS gave him a headstart.

If it were up to me, I'd have kept that intro with the nighttime version of "Wheel of Fortune".
