the storyline of this game sound just like the story of the "Bible". "only begotten son" a battle for the keys. sounds like when Jesus take the keys of hell from the devil and saves all mankind by sacrifying himself at cavalry. sounds like they know the bible but changed it to their way, to make money. i hope i don't get marked as spam. but i got to say i love the game halo. the reason why i found this game because i hear Mr. Dowes make the voice of a character in this game.

Not so much underrated as underplayed. If it had been on the Playstation lots of people would still be talking about it and loving it. I really wish it'd get a console/handheld remake honestly so more people would know it exists.

@tubeviewerbalpha9217 Cannot say anything else than what you did...shame this game didn't got the attention of the people...it's story is the caliber of a Final Fantasy twin game....it's gameplay a diablo+ff style inside...in anyway...this game is one of the lost pearls of our gamehood...but we should be happy...no one else can say they've played something better cuz we all know...This game will always be one of the best there ever was in that time..(Needed to say what I had on my heart...sorry)

I really liked the post apocalyptic atmosphere of this game and the whole "scrap-made" world we were thrown in. I also wish they would remake this game. Maybe give it a more action based gameplay, but still with rpg elements. I can't help but imagine a Mass Effect vibe.

At first it wasn't running because of some Quicktime problems.

But with the help of one of my online friends and a helpforum I could solve the problems and I can finally play this game.

I have got the game and I have Windows XP Pro SP2, but the game crashes as soon as I started it.

I tried compatibility modes, but none has any effect. D:

You could try a no cd patch it worked for me.

My Tipp: Install the newest Version of Quicktime (The game crashed for me when I used the Quicktime Version on the CD) and apply Patch 2. Then it should run. It has some random crashes thought, so run it in compatibillity mode with Win98, runs way more stable this way. And save regularly (F5), because it still crashes seldomly.

This game is a fricking classic. Just gotta love it. I just hope someone would make a vista patch for it since I'm stucked at core... Lessee... Was it 7? At one boss which does a move which gives me an error messange. :(

oh the lava monster...i had the same error but you have to change the compatibility of the game (right click on the game icon..properties....compatibil­ity...run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 98/ Windows millenium!) and at least at me it worked! Ps: Shell 7 is frikkin hard!!

Shell 7 ain't really that hard, I find it a lot harder to fight against sages since when you get at them you are more than likely out of items. XDDD

the drilling helgak battle gave me white hairs cause i got it to late how to defeat it and it takes too much to kill it even with Badu! That's why i consider shell 7 to be so hard! ps:i have Lobos ship what i do now (go at the chosen?)?

i play it on winxp and never had errors! btw can you help me? i'm stuck on shell 3 and i'm trying to get the head for the statue in the graveyard! How you use the acid (from the zombie you slay in the graveyard) to get the head of the statue?

You'll find some acid vial in the shops of South Farm. Use with acid use with head.

I had no problems whatsoever with SC on WinXP too.

I'm playing this game now and I'm really enjoying it ^^. What I like is a very long and great plot, cool characters (Araym, Corgan,Led, Lobo... and Grubb on the second floor of Ill Repute on World Baazar rox! xDD. ) and relations between them (even there side-quest to make peace between characters that don't like each other). And there is only one thing that I don't like - when you leave a location the monsters respawn - that's frustrating when you have to reclear area...

Thank you for the information! It is a shame that such a good game has to get unused! Who knows, perhaps there is a patch that could be found...Playing Septerra was like reading a good fantasy novel...it's hard to say "Farewell" to it. :-)

Unfortunately, no patch. Believe me, I've searched for one like crazy. All you have to do to replay it is to set up a win98 machine especially for it, or (better) install it as dual-boot on the same computer (as I'm doing right now). Or you can set up a 98 system in VMWare, but that it's too techie for me.

Yes. every dialogue is voiced here (over 50hrs of dialogues throughout the game), loads of different NPCs, crazy world shells containing dozens of secret places. i miss the timeswhen i played and enjoyed every bit of it.
