This vehicle may crawl at over 50mph but at the expense of the basic luxuries an average car should have. India should learn from the Koreans (south) and Malaysia.
Look it's just a model which is much smaller in size ok...Tata makes normal size vehicles as well and SUVs....This is primarily for people who drive motorcycles in India and elsewhere who can't afford to buy a car...it is a lot of safer than a motorcycle...What is your problem anyways...no one is asking you to buy it? Why won't you let people who previously couldn't afford a car have it? What's it to you?
I have a right to my own opinions OK. Anything worth doing is worth doing well. Is the safety rating of this vehicle a 5 star (e.g. lika a Ford focus or renault coup)? If safety is to be compromised for cost (and not just talking about the vehicle's speed limit) then this vehicle is a safety and biologic hazard.
If you put fuel economy before safety your mental faculties are a highly dangerous hazard. It is much better to have a vehicle with a lower fuel economy but higher safety features than this grinding mahine.
well u shd have called it a safety hazard instead of a "bio" hazard which it is definitely not. Coming to safety, almost no car in India has air bags and if u ever been on Indian city roads you will know 60 Km/hour (that is 35mph) is the BEST u can get. This car is very much safe for that speed.
Well maybe; but due to its relative cheapness and considering the vast population of india, it's likely to create vast exhaust (etc) pollution. Well; export of these vehicles to other nations with no speed limits might make these vehicles a safety hazard. India have no working antipollution laws. However I aint complaining as if this would improve the lives of man, then I support technology (it's better to have a car than donkey, horse or other manimal(s).
sorry for prolonging this, but the truth is very few Indians can afford $2500 compared to the number of people in the first world. Tata expects to sell 500,000 of these things as a best estimate, that may be at best a 10% increase in the number of Indian vehicles, believe me if americans went shopping once a week instead of twice, the environment would be better off than with the nanos, there are orders of magnitude of difference between US and indian car users(if u talk of CO2 emissions ie)
and by the way this car meets euro 4 emission standards which is the highest in the world. Your GM or Ford car pollutes a lot more than this. Just because it has a lower production doesn't mean it's of not good quality.
Yea! let us collaps the whole higways! imagine, every simple man who is driving a motor bike right now has a Tata Nano. Imagine the chaos on the street if you replace evry motorbike with a car... I wouldn't drive through the cities...

Ant would you have preferred this vehicle to a Ford Taurus (for example)?

Biologic hazard is a broader term which include safety hazard(s).
