theres a reason toda cams are called vtec killers. you cant have vtec while you have them in your car. so yea...it cant be that. and also if its open headers its going to sound kind of like that anyways cams or not. but he does have cams so there ya go.

i ran open header on my b20vtec.

hella loud. cant even idle without blowing an ear drum. haha. too bad theres no back pressure. i was only burning out through 3rd with open header. now i got my cat on, im chirping into 5th. =]
