There was an episode in which Kitt was destroyed, it looked almost like desert conditions. I believe Kitt was destroyed by a missle, but I can't remember. What I DO remember is Michael Knight taking Kitt's blueprints and creating a ram jet, or I believe that's what he called it, and driving the car across the desert towards home and safety at a rather insane speed.

Anyone remember the episode?

@dawnzephyr Goliath (Season 2 Premier) KITT was ran down by a semi that was made and covered with his protective shell. The Semi was driven by Garthe Knight (Hasselhoff in a dual role as Michael and Garthe). I tried to post that as well but the video was blocked.

@videozfann , I guess the second time Kitt just couldn't Turboo Boost out of the path of the missle since it was locked on him. the missle would have just fallowed I assume.

first time I saw it I thought why not just Turboo Boost a second time and the missle goes under him like the first time. later I figured the missle would have adjusted course and still hit him.

@Astraldragon1 yea ..but think of it this way ..the first time kitt turbo boost ..the missle was coming at him from the front this 2nd time the missel came at him from behind.. its a little harder to jump over something thats coming at you from behind then if its coming straight at you

It is a pity, Knight Rider have discontinued. I hope that NBC can change your mind and start a new season, in the format of the decades of 80.

KITT and Michael was a fantastic Duo.

The only time KITT didn't get an upgrade after getting wrecked was in Goliath and Junkyard Dog. The only thing KITT recieved in Goliath was a Laser. But the biggest up grades that he got was in Knight of the Drones and Knight of the Juggernaut were the most notice able changes.

@snosavenski The upgrades came in the 2 hour season premiers, new look and interior design in season 3 with some new things added, then in season 4 super pursuit mode. Some little things here and there came in during the first 2 seasons but nothing major (micro jammer, silent mode, new voice box).
