It's sad how the writers show he fails every time he tries to tell Robin he loves her (for example in s04e12 with this song in the background, but there's many more), how he quits of meeting Nora's parents and walks away, how he breaks up with Nora eventually, only to find out Robin didn't break up with Kevin, but it makes the show even better which - for a comedy - still has its great, deep and emotional moments. Funny that those moments are not Teds (main character) moments, but Barneys.

I think Barney is the best character in HIMYM. Even though he sleeps with a new girl in almost every episode, keeps a "face" book with all of them, films them with his 3 cameras (just in a living room, wonder how many cameras he has in the bedroom), and probably does reeeally dirty things to them - many people, girls especially might say he's just a dick, I still think he's the coolest character in TV series. Beside all that, he is capable of true feelings.
