i only use rim grinds. works for me, but i didn't know the fact tar +smooth rim produces that noise.

also the pads. if they are gripping they also make noise. cause they are sticking but there is resistance

you get a sort of eeep noise with no tar but a lil bit of tar is good but not too much or it will drive u nuts!
