I think you need to look into why the Second Amendment is there. It's not for hunting or for being cool or for mass-killings of children (which, face it...pretty much never happen...), but rather it is to protect ourselves from the government.
And they have much deadlier weapons than we do. Heck, we can't even own fully-automatic rifles unless they were made before 1987ish. The government uses full-auto exclusively.
