Hazora in Afghanistan speak Farsi, but they are Mongols and not Persians. Black people in Jamaica speak English are they Englishmen? Common language does not necessarily mean common ancestry.

Yes it does matter. I am Uzbek. It has a meaning to me. This girl is Uzbek too. From a 100% Uzbek area. And whatever video I go to I see Tajik people say that she is Tajik. When you tell them that she is not they say that she is too beautiful to be Uzbek. And most of them are not Tajiks from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Soviet Tajiks are cultured, educated people whom I greatly respect. Most of them are Afghan Tajiks who've never been to Uzbekistan but think they know more about us than we do)

Actually pan-turkism is much more dangerous than pan-iranism. pan- iranism is not as strong and doesn't really exist anymore. but many turks still dream of a big turkish empire.
Many Iranians dream of their empire too. Seems like every time I run across an Iranian online all I hear is Persian empire. And it was Pan-Iranists that I heard the most insults from. So, Pan-Iranists are as aggressive as Pan-Turksits. To my opinion, all those Big Brothers who want to turn Central Asia into their backyard should stay away. Uzbeks and Kyrghyz are both Turkic. Yet Uzbeks are closer to Persian speaking Tajiks than to Turkic Kyrghyz or Kazakhs. Tajik is not another word for Persian. It is a term for Persian speaking descendants of Soghdians, natives of Central Asia.
@Kyan66 For example there are many Tajiks living in Samarqand. And there are also an ethnic group that local Tajiks and Uzbeks call Ironi. They are Iranians (Persians) who lived there for many years. And yet Samarqandi Iranians and Tajiks don't consider themselves to be the same ethnic group. Tajiks call themselves Tajik and call Samarqandi Persians Ironi. And Samarqandi Iranians call themselves Ironi and call Tajiks Tajik. If they were the same thing this would've not happenned.

She is Tajik (Persian) by birth. In Khvarezm there lived only Tajiks earlier. Aburayhan Beruni 800 years ago wrote, that khvarezmians are Iranian people and speak on Persian dialect. But the majority of Tajiks (Persians) of Uzbekistan during centuries have lost the native language and accepted Turkic languages. But their blood has remained Tajik. And their descendants (maybe also you) today think, that they are Uzbeks. But they are not Uzbeks. They are not asian turkis.
I never said that ancient Khorezmians were Turkish. But they were not Persian either. They were Iranic. Iranic does not mean Persian. Are Pashtuns Persian? How about Kurds? Khorezmians were Turkified later. But that is what I am trying to say. Todays Uzbeks are mixture of ancient Iranic people of Central Asia and Turks. That is the reason why majority of city Uzbeks do not have Mongoloid features. So, this girl is a typical city Uzbek. Looks Iranic, speaks Turkic.
As far as her being Tajik. Tajiks are descendants of Sogdians, ancient Iranic (not Persian) population of Central Asia and Persian soldiers that were brought to Sogdiana by Arabs. Thus, being of Sogdian descent they are natives, and being of Persian blood speak a dialect of Farsi. Ancient Khorezmians, though also Iranic, were not Sogdian. Later they mixed with Turkic settlers and got Turkified.
Feruzsumon! Very Southern Uzbekistan and South East Turkmenistan - Mari, Termez,Denau, Khorug and Afghani Uzbeks come from Bakthrians. Bakthrians, Khorezmians, Parhians (ferghana) and Sogdians are our ancestors too. So Tajiks are wrong when they say these people are their grandfathers only. Though Uzbek and Tajik have a conmmon history, genes & same culture for at least 70-80%. Of course Uzbeks have a considerable Mongolian and Turkic mixture too. I think this is great!

So, it is fair to say that she has Iranic (though not Persian) blood, like all city Uzbeks, but she cannot be considered a Tajik, because she lacks a key and main element of Tajik ethnicity - Sogdian and Baktrian blood. She also has no Persian blood. That is the same reason why we cannot consider Biruni or Al-Khorezmi Tajiks. Not all Iranic is Persian. Just like not all Turkic is Turkish.

Turks did not show up in Central Asia after the mongol-turkish invasion? There was no such thing as "mongol-turkish" invasion. There was a Mongol invasion. The word "Turkish" has to do with the country of Turkey and Ottomans. I hope that you are not trying to say that Ottomans and Mongols lived at the same time and were allied (LOL). Shahs of Khorezm who defended the country against Mongols were Turkic. So, Turks were there before the Mongols showed up.
Turks came to Central Asia as early as V century. Mongols showed up in XIII century. The first Turkic rulers of Central Asia were Ashina Turks. They were great friends of Sogdians. Together they controlled the silk trade between Byzantines and China. Sogdians traded and Turks made sure that the roads are safe. Sasanid Persians were against that trade, for it made Byzantines stronger. So, Persians blocked the way, and did not let the silk caravans through.
Then, Ashina Turks send an embassy led by a Sogdian merchant Maniakh, to the Shah of Iran, asking to let the silk trade contine. The Shah bought all silk that Sogdian merchants had with them and burned it in front of embassadors. After that, Sogdian advisors convinced their Turkic rulers to invade Persia (another proof that Sogdians were not Persian). It was an invasion in which Turkic leader Yang Souh Tegin (known in Iran as Sheri-Kishwar) was shot by Bahram Chubin.
So, your claims that Turks came with the Mongols in XIII century are wrong, because they invaded Iran from Central Asia in V century (800 years before Mongol invasion). Note that Turkic attack on Iran happened because Sogdian merchants who were main advisors at the Turkic court asked the Turkic leader to invade Persia. So, we see that Sogdians and Turks were allied and fought together against Persia. Ferdowsi described these events in great detail, so did Narshahi.

Ashina Turks came to Central Asia when it was populated by Sogdians (before they mixed with Persians and became Tajiks). That was centuries before Samanids began buying Turkic slaves. Ashina (or Gokturks) were closely allied with Sogdians and cooperated against a common enemy - the Persians.

Iranian didn't rule the area for over 3000 year. Territory of Uzbekistan was a par of Achaemenid empire for a short period of time, until Alexander arrived. So, could you please mention Iranian dynasties ruling Uzbekistani territory for the past 3000 years. I am waiting.

Yes it does matter. I am Uzbek. It has a meaning to me. This girl is Uzbek too. From a 100% Uzbek area. And whatever video I go to I see Tajik people say that she is Tajik. When you tell them that she is not they say that she is too beautiful to be Uzbek. And most of them are not Tajiks from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Soviet Tajiks are cultured, educated people whom I greatly respect. Most of them are Afghan Tajiks who've never been to Uzbekistan but think they know more about us than we do)

Spitamen, I agree with you absolutely. Pan-Turkism is as dangerous as Pan-Iranism. There is nothing wrong with Tajiks or Uzbeks feeling a common bond with their cousins in Iran or Turkey. But when major powers like Iran or Turkey are trying to make our country their backyard and spread a racist ideology we should resist. Uzbeks and Tajiks are brothers. Actually pan-turkism is much more dangerous than pan-iranism. pan- iranism is not as strong and doesn't really exist anymore. but many turks still dream of a big turkish empire.

Many Iranians dream of their empire too. Seems like every time I run across an Iranian online all I hear is Persian empire. And it was Pan-Iranists that I heard the most insults from. So, Pan-Iranists are as aggressive as Pan-Turksits. To my opinion, all those Big Brothers who want to turn Central Asia into their backyard should stay away. I don't care who they are, Iran or Turkey. Uzbeks and Tajiks in Central Asia have more in common with each other than with Persians or Anatolian Turks.

@Kyan66 No natural resources in Central Asia? Central Asia is one of the largest untapped sources of natural gas, oil and a lot more. Language is a secondary issue for us. Uzbeks and Kyrghyz are both Turkic. Yet Uzbeks are closer to Persian speaking Tajiks than to Turkic Kyrghyz or Kazakhs. Tajik is not another word for Persian. It is a term for Persian speaking descendants of Soghdians, natives of Central Asia.

@Kyan66 For example there are many Tajiks living in Samarqand. And there are also an ethnic group that local Tajiks and Uzbeks call Ironi. They are Iranians (Persians) who lived there for many years. And yet Samarqandi Iranians and Tajiks don't consider themselves to be the same ethnic group. Tajiks call themselves Tajik and call Samarqandi Persians Ironi. And Samarqandi Iranians call themselves Ironi and call Tajiks Tajik. If they were the same thing this would've not happenned.

Abi, four of my relatives are Feruzas and I personally know about 20 Feruzas & all of them are Uzbeks. Actually, the point you made means you know nothing about Uzbeks and Uzbekistan. BTW since Turks started ruling central Asia and made persians speak turkic langauge and mixed with early 6th-7th century - yes our ancestors started giving persian names to their children.

I am Uzbek. And my name is Feruz. You gotta problem with that? And by the way, wikipedia is not a reliable source. It is being vandalized by Pan-Iranists. They claim that Ulughbek was Persian because he was born in Iran, when his grandfather Timur's troops were marching through the conquered country. It says that Biruni is Tajik, even though Tajiks never lived in Khorezm. Supposedly because Central Asia was a part of Persian empire for a short period of time it is all Persian.

She is Tajik (Persian) by birth. In Khvarezm there lived only Tajiks earlier. Aburayhan Beruni 800 years ago wrote, that khvarezmians are Iranian people and speak on Persian dialect. But the majority of Tajiks (Persians) of Uzbekistan during centuries have lost the native language and accepted Turkic languages. But their blood has remained Tajik. And their descendants (maybe also you) today think, that they are Uzbeks. But they are not Uzbeks. They are not asian turkis.

I never said that ancient Khorezmians were Turkish. But they were not Persian either. They were Iranic. Iranic does not mean Persian. Are Pashtuns Persian? How about Kurds? Khorezmians were Turkified later. But that is what I am trying to say. Todays Uzbeks are mixture of ancient Iranic people of Central Asia and Turks. That is the reason why majority of city Uzbeks do not have Mongoloid features. So, this girl is a typical city Uzbek. Looks Iranic, speaks Turkic.

As far as her being Tajik. Tajiks are descendants of Sogdians, ancient Iranic (not Persian) population of Central Asia and Persian soldiers that were brought to Sogdiana by Arabs. Thus, being of Sogdian descent they are natives, and being of Persian blood speak a dialect of Farsi. Ancient Khorezmians, though also Iranic, were not Sogdian. Later they mixed with Turkic settlers and got Turkified.

Feruzsumon! Very Southern Uzbekistan and South East Turkmenistan - Mari, Termez,Denau, Khorug and Afghani Uzbeks come from Bakthrians. Bakthrians, Khorezmians, Parhians (ferghana) and Sogdians are our ancestors too. So Tajiks are wrong when they say these people are their grandfathers only. Though Uzbek and Tajik have a conmmon history, genes & same culture for at least 70-80%. Of course Uzbeks have a considerable Mongolian and Turkic mixture too. I think this is great!

So, it is fair to say that she has Iranic (though not Persian) blood, like all city Uzbeks, but she cannot be considered a Tajik, because she lacks a key and main element of Tajik ethnicity - Sogdian and Baktrian blood. She also has no Persian blood. That is the same reason why we cannot consider Biruni or Al-Khorezmi Tajiks. Not all Iranic is Persian. Just like not all Turkic is Turkish.

What I was trying to explain is that Khorezmians cannot be Tajiks, because they don't have Sogdian blood. Tajiks are specifically descendants of Sogdians and Persian settlers. Khorezmian Uzbeks are descendants of Iranic Khorezmians (not Sogdian) and Turkic tribes.

Turks did not show up in Central Asia after the mongol-turkish invasion? There was no such thing as "mongol-turkish" invasion. There was a Mongol invasion. The word "Turkish" has to do with the country of Turkey and Ottomans. I hope that you are not trying to say that Ottomans and Mongols lived at the same time and were allied (LOL). Shahs of Khorezm who defended the country against Mongols were Turkic. So, Turks were there before the Mongols showed up.

Turks came to Central Asia as early as V century. Mongols showed up in XIII century. The first Turkic rulers of Central Asia were Ashina Turks. They were great friends of Sogdians. Together they controlled the silk trade between Byzantines and China. Sogdians traded and Turks made sure that the roads are safe. Sasanid Persians were against that trade, for it made Byzantines stronger. So, Persians blocked the way, and did not let the silk caravans through.

Then, Ashina Turks send an embassy led by a Sogdian merchant Maniakh, to the Shah of Iran, asking to let the silk trade contine. The Shah bought all silk that Sogdian merchants had with them and burned it in front of embassadors. It was an invasion in which Turkic leader Yang Souh Tegin (known in Iran as Sheri-Kishwar) was shot by Bahram Chubin.

So, your claims that Turks came with the Mongols in XIII century are wrong, because they invaded Iran from Central Asia in V century (800 years before Mongol invasion). Note that Turkic attack on Iran happened because Sogdian merchants who were main advisors at the Turkic court asked the Turkic leader to invade Persia. So, we see that Sogdians and Turks were allied and fought together against Persia. Ferdowsi described these events in great detail, so did Narshahi.

tajik has two 'sort' of meanings
1. taj='kingly' in persian
2. tajik was a term that turks/mongols used for non-turk. so that also shows that we persians aren't turks just like many turks think we are. and the turks were actually 'nomads'. persians gave them their future, so did the arabs (caliphate).

Tajik and Sogdian are not the same. Tajiks are descendants of Sogdians, but they are not Sogdians. I am a son of my father. But I am not my father. Ashina Turks came to Central Asia when it was populated by Sogdians (before they mixed with Persians and became Tajiks). That was centuries before Samanids began buying Turkic slaves. Ashina (or Gokturks) were closely allied with Sogdians and cooperated against a common enemy - the Persians.

Iranian didn't rule the area for over 3000 year. Territory of Uzbekistan was a par of Achaemenid empire for a short period of time, until Alexander arrived. Ever since then it hasn't been under Persian rule. We had an Iranian dynasty - Samanids at one point. For a couple of centuries. But that's it. So, could you please mention Iranian dynasties ruling Uzbekistani territory for the past 3000 years. I am waiting.

Abi, where did uget 40% statistics. there %5 of Uzbekistan are tajiks and they live in ukhara, Sokh and sanarqand areas. Actually, these cities speak tajik even uzbeks & azeris there speak tajik but many of them are not tajiks.You know, if this is true then 50% of Iran are turks, 30% of Afghanistan are Uzbeks & Turkmen and %35 of Tajiksitan are Uzbeks. Of course you will deny it.

Of course she does not look Turkish. Because she is not Turkish. She is Uzbek. She is from Khorezm. It is a 100% Turkic Uzbek area. Tajiks never lived there. There is a difference between Turkish and Turkic. Turkish has to do with Anatolian Turks who live in Turkey. Turkic is a linguistic term. Tatars with blond hair and blue eyes are as Turkic as Persian looking Azeris or Mongoloid Yakuts. There is no distinct Turkic look. There is a distinct Turkish look (that by the way resembles Persian):)
