Barbra Streisand's marvellous intellect-informed talents, her Protean gifts & superbly morally-informed human-caring political stances are all far above reproach. They offend only those who hold evil intent within them, like selfish pseudo-christian right wingnuts.
I think the politics of Christian Republicans are heretical and selfish. They only want freedoms for themselves and no one else. Barbra speaks up on equality for everyone. For that, I love her politics.
Barbra's the most gifted female vocalist of the last 4 decades, she has the most dramatic voice in the pop world.....truly an instrument given by God!!!
'A Quiet Thing' is from 'Flora the Red Menace', a failed show that had already closed when it's 17 year old star, Liza Minnelli, won the Tony Award. 'There Won't Be Trumpets' is a song cut from Stephen Sondhiem's failed 'Anyone Can Whistle'
i like liza's version better but i gotta say how much it should have been Barbra's song, she does it so beautifully.

@ajmannn1 I couldn't have said it better. And she's fearless speaking out for what she believes.

One from the Streisand vault that really packs an emotional punch; sheer brilliance. Boggles the mind that they disgarded this one from "Butterfly".

Thanks so much. I have never heard the score to "Flora," but I love the title song, as sung by Lee Remick, to "Anyone Can Whistle."

amazing how I get 'pulled into' the song by the way she sings... I actually have to sit down...
Now thats a gift!
