Lol, everyone feels the same way I do I'm like why would I want this effect? Its stupid why do I need my desktop to do this the two best effects is the desktop cubs and bumptop. I and this one cool one that lets you hover over the little task bar at the bottom og your computer screen to preview your tasks. Those are the best effects out there I think, very useful too.

All they do is texture mapping a 2d surface onto a few polygons... Stuff like 3d animation, computergames and nearly everything within visualization today is well capable of doing this already and have done for 15 years.. its not new and special is it.

I dont exactly think quantity over quality is the matter (if thats what you're saying). Windows was able to promote themselves better than Apple at first allowing them a headstart and since then I guess its just been rooted into casual/professional consumers that windows is the way (not everyone but the majority)

Actually, Steve Jobs hired Bill Gates to work for Apple for a little bit. He thought Windows was a joke. Bill then took just about everything he saw while there, and copied it into his Windows OS. Now the way Windows took over was because Bill marketed and sold just the OS to be used on any system. For Apple, you had to buy the computer and operating system together. Other companies that wanted to sell computers simply bought Windows and put it on due to lack of choice.

The cause of OS X not having games is mostly Microsoft's fault. M$ loves to make contracts and buy-up game companies to insure they get the games. A great example of this is Halo. Which was originally Mac only until M$ bought the people making it. :-/
