I did 210 kph on mine one day and the wind wanted to tear me off the back of the bike, good to see the screen makes a good differance, might have to get myself one. What year model is this one ? I have the 09 Street Triple "R" with the round lights, I'm not sold on the new lights yet but i'm sure they will grow on me as time goes on
@RicardoSS85@fotokitdirect , Ricardo, your opinion of ABS is straight out of a manufacturers brochure, not of the majority of riders. Do you ride? If you did, you'd realise that if you NEED ABS on a bike, it's probably to late.
finally someone who actually rides there triumph and with a decent camera and sound i must have seen 10/15 vids of people just reving the crap out of there bike and looking at it.
People, I'd appreciate some opinions about possible reliability problems with the Street Triple. Mainly timing chain tensioner problems, oil leakage in the head gasket, coolant leakage in the radiator hoses and faulty electronics. Thanks a lot.
@RicardoSS85 Oh yeah? Tell us the mags and issue numbers and we'll look it up. I see you're going with a Ducati Monster. And how do you intend to remain reliable exactly with that?
@fotokitdirect You should put all that energy in telling me exactly how reliable your Street Triple is dude... As for the 796, 3729km and no problems at all. And it has ABS. And it looks amazing - I considered the Street Triple until they changed the headlights; never seen anything as ridiculous as the new ones...
@RicardoSS85 I don't need to. I've had Triumphs, Kawasaki's, Hondas and Suzuki's. All of which have never missed a beat. Every one of my buddies with Ducatis have had problems. Shove your 796. Clearly you buy bikes for how they look more than how they ride.
@fotokitdirect I've had 2 Hondas, a BMW and a Suzuki. The one with most reliability problems was the Suzuki (2009 Gladius). So I sold it and I've bought the 796. The ST rides ok but the Duc has more low end power. And sounds a lot better (the STriple sound is just weird, both with the stock exhaust and with aftermarket units). The ABS is another plus on the Duc (stupid for Triumph not to have ABS on their bikes). About the style: if you like the new ST headlights, you're an idiot.
@RicardoSS85 What do you need ABS for? Can't you brake properly? Triumph do have ABS on their bikes but the Street Triple doesn't need it. There is no point in making one of the lightest, quickest bikes on the planet then sticking a heavy ABS system on it for useless riders like you. By the way the Street has a great sounding triple cylinder growl. Like all dukes they sound like a bucket of rusty spanners.
@fotokitdirect First of all, epxerienced riders all over the world praise ABS on bikes (see the MCN Fireblade ABS test here on youtube, for instance). It's not for pussies, it's for people who ride in real world conditions, with rain and idiots on the road. But I guess you're too much of an insecure girl to have ABS on your bike. Maybe when you crash in the back of a lorry who stopped sudenly your family will think, in your funeral, that maybe ABS would've been a good idea.
@RicardoSS85 You dick. First off, my last bike was a 2010 C-ABS Blade so STFU, I know what I'm talking about. I never once engaged the ABS, even in wet riding, because I got my braking right. Secondly, if you think I'm not experienced enough to know when a truck is about to stop dead, you're wrong again. I'm trained to police standards so know how to avoid such scenarios well in advance. Your comment about me at a funeral is such a dickhead statement. And insecure girl? You're the one with ABS!
@fotokitdirect 'An insecure girl' as in 'you lose your sleep with the idea of people seeing you with an ABS bike'. As for your police training: good for you. It won't be useful when something happens in front of you and you still can't react fast enough, as it invariably will. Just the other day Valentino Rossi (you might know him) killed Simoncelli because it was impossible for him to react in time. That just shows you that sometimes your fast reaction time is not enough.
@RicardoSS85 Erm, Rossi didn't kill him you baffoon. He was hit by Edwards. Incredibly bad taste of you to bring that up though. Since when is a race track the same as the road?
@fotokitdirect The blow that injured Marco's cervical vertebrae, medulla oblongata and cerebellum was given by Rossi's front tire. Edwards hit him in the chest, braking some ribs and puncturing his lungs. I brought the accident up to show you that fast reaction times aren't always the soluction to avoid accidents, hence the need (mainly on the road) for ABS systems. Do you understand now or do you need further explanation?
@RicardoSS85 Amazing that you managed to get access to the medical centre at Sepang to give all the experienced doctors your prognosis. Or are you the coroner? Neither I suspect so shut up before you make yourself an even bigger fool by copying and pasting bullshit from some other dickhead on the net who knows nothing about what happened to Marco. Unless of course you have some HD footage that no else in the world has access to to prove what your saying. No, I didn't think so.
@fotokitdirect Dude I didn't copy anything from anyone. I'm a doctor and I'm taking my specialty in legal medicine in the IML, in Lisbon, Portugal, so I have access to a lot of information you can only dream about.
Respond to this video... And who mentioned fast reaction times? Not me. Not hitting the truck you mention on the road is not down to fast reaction times or ABS, it's about planning, and you seem not to be able to comprehend that either with your motorcycling ability, or your mouth. I see from your other posts in other YT clips other people have the same impression of you. Oh dear!
@RicardoSS85 You forgot to mention me having an ABS Blade, or did you just deliberately ignore that fact because it made you look a knob? Look in my channel and you'll see me riding it, with no need for ABS!
@RicardoSS85 Erm not really. Let me make it more clear for you. I had ABS on my Fireblade and it never engaged because I never found the need for it even in the wet. Hence the bike was sold and I got a full on down to basics motorcycle with no rider aids, a Street Triple R. Clear now? Astonishing that you claim to be a doctor yet can't seem to understand plain English, but then we all know that the doctor bit was just a massive pile of bull wasn't it!
@fotokitdirect No my dear, I understand English perfectly well (although it's not my first language). But your 'language' is quite impenetrable (like your logic). Quite common in cases of heavily inbred families like yours. I'm also fluent in Spanish, French and Portuguese. What about you? Exactly. About me being a doctor: you can call Instituto de Medicina Legal, Lisboa, ask for Dr. Pedro Martins and see for yourself.
@RicardoSS85 You're right you can't help me, because clearly you can't even help yourself. 5ft 10 and a half inches you say? Why do you feel the need to tell us the last half inch? Insecure about yourself? LOL. Cunt right back at ya!
@fotokitdirect Second of all, there are some ABS systems, like the one on my Duc, that only weight 5 or 6 kg. Maybe Triumph can't come up with that, but it's possible. 'Oh but it's still 5 or 6 kg heavier'. Yeah, but then again I'm a very athletic man (1.79m and 73kg), so even with those kgs more I'm still ahead of you, you fat cunt. About the sound: if you're so thick you can't understand that the Duc 2 cylinder sound is better than the STriple's, then I can't help you.
@RicardoSS85 Hi. I have a 955 Triple and have had it for 5 years with absolutely no problems. I would recommend one to anyone. I ride it fairly hard at times. Never had any oil or water leaks..ever! Electronics are perfect except the clock and trip meters often zero themselves for no reason. Must check out why sometime!
I had a Street Triple R that I had to sell , and believe me I miss it soooooooo much now ! They are really really good bikes and you did a great video with yours .
Nice vid and well done. The top speed was on a fairly level stretch of road too. I have a new 2010 R with about 2000km on it (until next spring regrettably) and I easily got 220 and it had more to go; not bad for a naked 675 bike! 232 kmph is 144mph but even knocking off 5mph for speedo error it is still impressive. It would go even faster on a slight downhill. But the R has a lovely torquey powerband for the real world unlike the faster but uncomfortable Daytona. Love the handling too!
@federerexpress4 ; I'm just assuming the speedos on most bikes are optimistic at higher speeds, maybe it is right on. What I love most about the Striple is the light weight (excellent handling) combined with a torquey powerband, nice top end rush, and a reasonable riding position. For legal and self-preservation purposes we don't spend too much time over 100mph so 130-140mph is plenty for the street. 1000cc sportbikes are now governed to 186mph and only relevant to a racetrack.
I did 210 kph on mine one day and the wind wanted to tear me off the back of the bike, good to see the screen makes a good differance, might have to get myself one. What year model is this one ?
