why doesn't the government protect the beaches and just say no to greedy land developers (destroyers), or at least regulate their actions?

Very sad! I love the beaches of Tulum and fear the worst , after seeing the terrible human failures at Cancún!

But what are your suggestions? How can a tourist enjoy the coast, without feeding the tourism-industry that's destryoing it? Are the cabanas at Tulum "eco-friendly"? Or is it just the same, at a smaller scale?

Saddly bussinnes people want more money in less time, and not aware persons want luxury stuf without take care that every single step of confort means a lot against nature
