  • Simon Bar Sinister... looks to me like Rudy Giuliani.

  • I love this! Can't seem to find the version where the giant invades the city.

    Thanks for uploading!

  • WHEN I WAS A KID IN THE 1970S, I USED TO WATCH UNDER DOG ALL THE TIME. IT WAS A FUN SHOW , AND SEEING IT NOW BRINGS BACK MEMORIES. CARTOONS FROM THE 1960S HAD A LOT OF STYLE.

  • This intro is even better with some Power Rangers. Simply put, I'm going with Underdog: Ninja Storm!

  • LOVED UNDERDOG AS A KID!!!

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU RECOGNISE THE wU-tANG SAMPLE...

  • @KevthePoet bring the mutha fucking ruckus god!!!yeah had me hype to run up on it like that.

  • @KevthePoet my bad aint nothing to fuck with..good look.

  • I startedliking this show since late 1998. This is way better than that horrid live action movie. I wished the movie was animated. Don't ever hate this.

  • My mom and uncle used to watch this show when they were kids! I showed this to my mom and her eyes lit up!

  • A true part of my childhood! Thanks for posting this.

  • Thumbs up if scrubs brought you here.

  • 15 people rob and plunder.

  • Check out Underdog 2011 at

    youtube(dot)com/watch?v=iQS9XhAAZAc

  • Bring back the Underdog gigantic balloon for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

  • i remember one episode where i cried.

    i must have been six,

and the girl dog and underdog were trapped in one of SImon Bar Sinister's traps ...

    ... and they almost drowned.

  • This is actually only the second verse...the first one is:

When in this world the headlines read,

of those whose hearts are full of greed,

Who rob and steal from those in need,

To right these wrongs with blinding speed comes...(Chorus)

  • Nice...

  • Nice...

  • great cartoon but the movie was terrible

  • @looneytoon76 There was a movie? I loved the old series. It had Tennesee Tuxedo and COmmander Mcbragg, and the Go Go gophers(so un PC!)

  • Wish he were here today what with all the Riff Raff's(politicians) and Bar(judges, lawyers)SINisters around today.

  • I loved this show. GOD!!! GOOD TV, WHY'D YOU HAVE TO DIE?!!! :'(

  • This one's from Robbie! Never Fear!

  • 13 Simon Bar Sinisters and Riff Raff's out there!

  • @Kelski1998 Naw - two of the dislikes come from that two-headed giant Underdog beat (the guy whose catchphrase was "Teamwork, teamwork, that's what counts!"). (Of course, it's a joke.)

  • simon says great intro

  • I remember Underdog as a kid.

  • Anyone recognize this?

(Wu Tang Clan AINT NUTHIN TA FUCK WIT!)

  • Check out the "Hercules" theme - it's ageless...

  • the movie sucked. :(

  • There's no need to fear UNDERDOG is here!!

  • When Wally Cox died, they cut a special intro to "Hollywood Squares" that ran before the beginning of the next scheduled weekday morning broadcast with a short but sweet eulogy by host Peter Marshall (Cox was a regular on the show). Marshall's eulogy ended with a heaven-related comment along the lines of "There's no need to fear, Underdog is there!" (The audio clip is on the classicsquares website.)

  • @elc1960 I remember watching that episode!! It was touching.

  • I love this cartoon, The movie was pretty disappointing though.

  • Underdog, He'll fucking cut you!

  • I actually liked the one where Riff Raff was shaking down the newstand guy, better, ... but you can't beat the 'Dog, and the opening theme, regardless!

  • @TyRUpp When in this world the headlines read Of those whose hearts are filled with greed And rob and steal from those who need To right this wrong with blinding speed goes UN-der-dog! (Underdog!) UN-der-dog! (Underdog!) Speed of lightning, Roar of thunder Fighting those who rob or plunder, UN-der-dog! (Underdog!) UNDERDOG!!!
  • This was my high school's fight song!!

  • ahh, the good old days when cartoons were still made here in america, this sure brings back alot of memories!

  • This must where the underdog swing trick comes form. (Running under somebody while they are swinging)

  • "When Polly's in trouble I am not slow/So it's hip, hip, hip and awaaay I GO!!! Oh shit, I forgot to take my "energy pill". Need to score some Ups before I rescue that needy little bitch. And that SINGING! Christ! Is she the one who taught Britney Spears how to sing? Fuck it, let the bitch die. She won't give me any for rescuing her anyway. Damn, no wonder I never get laid. I have a face like a fucking beagle, for Christ's sake. I'm so depressed. Think I'll just go take a nap."

  • Now I know who to call the next time Simon Bar Sinister threatens me!

  • This was the intro to the second part to the Underdog story.

  • I kind of wonder if Black Sabbath was inspired by this theme song with their intro to Faries wear boots -both have that same heavy ominious feel

  • Here's one for you all: Underdog vs. SuperChicken! Who would win? Both have cool theme songs!!! One pops pills (UD), the other downs booze (SC). Winner take all!!!

  • i miss this show. does anyone here in their head "Wu Tang clan aint nuthin to fuck wit!" in their head. thats a goo duse of a sample frmo this

  • This sort of reminds me of Sakura as Ms Polly Purebred being rescued by Naruto as Underdog from the clutches of the villian Sasuke/insane scientist

  • @oldgordo61 then you need to stop watching Naruto now.

there are other shows in the world, and things beyond TV shows anyway.

  • UNDERDRUG,UNDERDRUG,

    UNDERDRUG, HAHA the infamous pill

  • crazy things you are seeing in the us o.O

  • My all time favorite cartoon! I don't think that kids attention span these days could take the fact that it was always shown as a several part episode that went on for weeks.

  • My biggest problem was when I tuned in the next week it was never picking up from the previous week!

  • @BOOGE64: Dude, I totally agree. the cartoons of today just don't have the appeal of something like this. Are you old enough to remember Courageous Cat? Batfink? Sherman and Mr. Peabody? Totally different style of storytelling.

  • @wmdbassplayer I agree with you too, and yes I remember ALL of these. The cartoons of today have way too much dialogue and too much flash.

  • I remember all of these as re-runs on WPIX-11

  • underdog ain't nuthin to fuck wit!

    XD

  • Speed of lightning! Roar of thunder! Fighting all who rob or plunder! Underdog!

  • When I was about 6 or 7 I'd tell people my name was Simon Bar Sinister.

  • @jjj11330 You're a bad dude

  • @jjj11330 Do you know what a 'bar sinister' is???? It's a marking on heraldry (coat of arms) indicating....are you ready for this?...bastard birth!!!

  • Underdog was the shit when I was growing up!!!The live action movie was pretty good too, lol!

  • @schltz2: they handled the live action movie much better than I expected. As someone who grew up in the 60's watching this, I actually wasn't disappointed by that film and my daughter enjoyed it, too and she new nothing of this Underdog at the time.

  • Don't think this cartoon was shown in England, I've never seen it anyway although I have heard it mentioned on American shows.

  • It was in england during the 90's :P i was a 90's child this cartoon was and still is immence

  • this HAS GOT to be one of the best cartoon theme songs ever created!

  • yes up there with supper chicken

  • and mighty mouse

  • @StoicMan64 i know it's 8 months later, but yes, i agree, it IS one of the best theme songs ever!

  • I never heard of this! I used to watch cartoons all day! I looked it up, because Scrubs band "The Worthless Peons" made an awesome cover.

  • You mean 'The Blanks', right?

  • The Blanks are the real band's name, but in Scrubs theyre called "The Worthless Peons", although they play the same songs.

  • When I was 8 my mum made me an Underdog costume for a party at school. When I walked in everyone laughed and taunted "Underwear Dog! Underwear Dog!"

    :(

  • look at em now!bet they wish they went as one of the coolest superheros! ^_^

  • They still tease me even to this day. :(

    "Underwear Dog!, Underwear Dog!"

    They don't understand.

  • just say,' hey! at least I have an idol assholes!' in-fact... have they ever seen the underdog movie! that movie is awesome!

  • Best cartoon theme song ever.

  • i agree, a classic

  • just a classic

  • The Blanks are sooo much better :D

  • man, they need to make more of this, and fat albert... and the older speed racers (Not the new 3d nextgen crap that is BS) and pokemon (the older style ones, new ones are also BS) and every other old cartoon.

  • Of all of the cartoon theme songs, I think this has always been my favorite. Growing up in that day and age, I can still remember many of them. This is numero uno.

  • Underdog aint nuthin ta fuck wit!

  • Is it just me or does this song really ROCK?

  • It's not just you: it does, and so does the video. I see, in retrospect, that Under was the man!

  • watch the acapella version "the blanks"

  • its.....its a good song o.O.........

  • I thought I'd check this out as Ted's group was singing it.

NEVER EVEN HEARD OF THIS SHOW BEFORE O_O

  • I think the live action movie should've never been made at all. I would've gone original. Same thing with Alvin and the Chipmunks.

  • Speed of lightning! Roar of thunder!

Fighting all who rob or plunder...

    Underdog! Underdog!

When criminals in this world appear

And break the laws that they should fear

And fighten all who see or hear

The cry goes up both far and near...

  • haha makes me wanna go back in time ... goood oldd timesss =)

  • i feel bad.i was born in the new generation.i dont see stuff like this.i know i can get boomarang.but it just doesnt feel right(plus the fee)instead i have to watch some imaginary blue thing play with a foster boy and another wannabe pirate weirdo kid with the name thats eaten every morning.flapjack.damn just damn.they dont make em like they used to

  • Underdog is the shit

  • The only children's cartoon I can think of that had a minor-key theme. Yes, Simon does bear a coincidental resemblance to Rudy Giuliani, who would have been probably 10 years old at the time.

  • Underdog = Sonic the hedgehog

    Bar Sinister = Robotnik

  • roger ramjet with some kinda energy pill

  • It would be funny if someone made a collage of all the times he needed to use his "Energy pill." No wonder everyone does roids! They were inspired by Underdog! At least with Popeye people just ate a little spinach...

  • Is it just me or do all the greatest superheroes do steroids? He man raises his giant needle, juices up and his only super power is a massive increase in strength, lol.

  • Yes, and Asterix with his magic potion.

  • Oh my gosh!

    I loved, loved this show!

Okay...how many of you had to keep messing with the rabbit ears on top of the tv to get the picture to come in clear, or mess with the buttons on the back of the tv to make the picture stop rolling?....lol

My brother would always stomp his foot on the floor when the picture rolled....lol.

  • I hear that! lol Yeah, definitely remember that. Tinfoil on the ears, too.

  • To anyone on the tube, is it me, or does the bad guy in the intro look like Rudy Giuliani?

  • He does!!

  • Don't be so smug. A dog might save your life one day... then what will you say?

  • OMG....what childhood memories!

  • the blanks do a cover of that song and it sound good

  • I wish they would release all the Underdog cartoons on DVD.

  • UNDERDOG

  • Had this theme song going through my head all day for some reason. Now I know why!!!

  • This intro usually appeared before the start of the second "Underdog" cartoon in every half-hour episode; there were three variations of this (including one featuring "Riff Raff" and another with a giant); for some reason, this wasn't featured as often as the other two in syndication over the years...

  • So star trek wasn't fucked up? :P...

  • if you got the beef then bring the ruckus wu-tang clan ain nut-oh wait wrong song

  • Yes it was the right song! The RZA did sample the beginning & slowed it down! I recreated it myself!! Right down to those "snaps" you hear in the RZA's beat!

  • those claws would have snapped the lady in half

  • Maybe the where more like tong or pincers and she up in the middle of one of the humps but hey who know maybe she was just super lucky

  • "Sweet" Polly Purebred

  • i dont fucking get hollywood anymore.

look at how AWESOME that trailer was for the old cartoon.

this was all the producers of that crappy live action piece of shit had to do was look at this intro and you had all you needed to know about underdog.

Villian shows up, he kicks ass, cue the music.

    WTF HOLLYWOOD?

but NO they had to make it like racing stripes and dumb it down for todays generation.

i can only pray they get thundercats right.

at least they didnt fuck up star trek.

  • Made by Format Films Inc.

  • There was suppose to be a live action movie version starring Tom Hanks as Underdog.Pick Danny Devito to play Simon Barsinister,Gweneth Paltrow as Sweet Polly Purebred, and Al Pacino as Riff Raff.

  • They made a live action movie two years ago.

  • OMG..... They don't write theme songs like they used to! This is by far one of THE BEST!!!

  • You are right about the TV themes, they are also fastly disappearing from many of the prime time schedules.

  • Todays kids just dont know what they missed! Those older cartoons are classic sh*t! Instead they get their brains rotted out with yu-gi-oh and like the 12th version of suck ass power rangers!

  • i do agree with what you said. somebody on you tube actually had the nerve to say that they didn't like the cartoons of the 60s. they said the 80s cartoon were better. i got to disagree with you on yu-gi-oh. it was a pretty good cartoon.

  • I'm glad you agree madog! But i'll still say that yu-gi-oh stinks because the animation is horrible! But not just that cartoon, even cartoons from our era tried the slow stills animation and they kinda sucked too. It's supposed to be animated, dont you agree? I think that the last really good cartoon was beast wars. Everything else kinda sucked after that. Plus remember that we had to suffer in the late 80's with the smurfs, carebears,my lil pony and other crap.

  • i gotta admit with today's animation, the details are good. but if they're using computers, the product should be little more animated. when we were growing up, everything was hand drawn & had a limited budget. yes, i loved beast wars. but if it wasn't for ren & stimpy, gargoyles,& beavis & butt-head, i would have not gotten back to cartoons. that pc garbage you mentioned in the 80s made me sick.

  • I forgot all about Gargoyles with Demona!Excellent cartoon! Tho cg animation is pretty good epspecially from dreamworks and disney I try and keep them seperate from actual animated cartoons. Its kinda like someone who does math with pencil and paper versus someone using a calculator, you kno.? The old disney cartoons done so profeesionally until you have to give them the edge for doing it by hand for 12-14 hours a day for 6 days a week ( disney was a tough boss from what i hear).

  • That's true. But the the kids today 10 years from now will tell the younger generations of the good ol' days of Yu-Gi-Oh and the process will repeat over and over. How about we enjoy what we had and let them enjoy theirs. Because we're starting to sound old. lol

  • I use to wake up at 4:30am every day to watch this during the week before going to middle school.

  • THERE'S NO NEED TO FEAR!!!

    UNDERDOG IS HERE!!!

When Polly's in Trouble, I am not slow

It's hip! hip! hip! and away I GO!!!

i just love this classic cartoon

  • i love my underdog and i miss my underdog

  • When Polly's in trouble, I am not slow,

So it's hip! hip! hip! and away I go!

  • I love this show!

  • Great show. I miss it. I haven't seen it in years.

  • wow! this show is the greatest!

  • I love Underdog. This is the true theme.

  • I LOVE THIS SHOW AND THEME SONG!!!

  • Gotta be one of the best themesongs ever.

  • Simon Bar Sinister!

    With his stooge Cad!

  • RZA a genius

  • fuckin WU TANG!

  • Sweet Polly Purebread!!

  • What was the chick's name? Polly Pureheart???

  • Look up in the sky, it's a bird, It's a plane, It's a frog. Not bird nor plane or even frog, just little ole me UNDERDOG!

  • Yes!!!!

  • I remember watching this when I was in Kindergarten!!! I'm getting OLD!

  • the doggirl died in the explosion

  • OoooWaOoooWaOoooWaOooo! I never realized as a kid that Simon Bar Sinister had built himself a really sweet mechanical crab! Wonder where he's at now- he would be great for one of those reality/ mechanical/ hot rod shows! Maybe do a guest stint at Orange County Choppers or Junkyard Wars? And what of Riff-Raff? He sure changed a lot by the time he did Rocky Horror!

  • GOD THIS WAS A GREAT THEME SONG

  • I never realized as a kid that Simon Bar Sinister's name was a sly way of calling him "Simon the Bastard."

  • shaolin temple represent .

  • man how do i miss dis show

    cant beat the classics

  • I like the Blanks version

  • Comment removed

  • Simon says, freeze!

  • if you want beef then bring the ruckus

  • This is sampled in wu tang's "wu-tang aint nothin to f- with".... just some food for thought.

  • Yeah! Give me those days back again. Saturday mornings.

  • Sweet Polly PureBred was hot.

I think Underdog was tapping that ass.

He always had to rescue her from SIMON BAR SINISTER "Oh where, oh where has my Underdog gone ?"

  • Great cartoon, but again Disney had to fuck something up and if you mark this as a bad comment you have been brain washed by the Disney corporation.

  • where does that hatred(ok not hatred but disliking) come from

  • wouldnt that machine have sliced her in half? lol
