YES - the first DEMF can go down in history as the best weekend for a lot of people in the city whether they liked techno or not. Up to that point everybody had their weekend down at Hart Plaza even the downtown hoedown for them country folk! Finally techno got out of the dark warehouses and into the spotlight with a bang! I don't think anyone expected that kind of turnout which made it even more wild. And music... where to begin? I think that people could finally call Detroit techno city.

There will never be an experience to match the feeling of attending this

festival! The first festival (I've been to them all!) is one of my favorite

memories of being a part of the Detroit Dance Scene!
