Just tried this! My 3rd jar, Bramwell's Pickled Onions from Aldi, ran for about a minute - the labels actually started smoking. I was using 16% nitromethane RC fuel. Weirdest thing was the glass never even broke. Didn't use the metal bit and I admit I nearly soiled myself at the loud squeak when I lit it - XD!

I made one and tried it out about five times.First time the lid flew off and landed a few feet away.All the times cafter that it just mad a big puff! and went out.I even tried making a defuser out of pvc but had the same result.Does anyone have any tips?

Real jet engines have what are called nozles at the back of the engine to control the size ot the exaust "hole". This is not on the turbo jet style of engine, the ones you see on airliners and cargo airplanes. The smaller the hole the more trust the engine produces. Dump some more fuel into the exaust and light that off and you have an afterburner.

and i tried this at home with a empty tin of milo(a kind of drink mix thingy) it has a removable lid and i drilles aprox a 10mm hole in it i put some methylated spirits in it the shook it the lit it the the lid poped off and it took like 7 seconds to comeback down

@JappSlapp00 it would probably explode, because if you noticed how he lit the fumes and not actually the fluid itself. Gasoline is a lot less stable and is most explosive when it's in its gaseous state.
