  • CONSIDERING SHE IS IN HER LATE 50'S SHE IS SMOKIN HOT.

  • What a bod!

    Hubba hubba!

  • Kate...I would park my boots under your bed any time, Ma'am...

  • This is not intended as a disrespect nor as a compliment, but this band's male lead-singer sort of reminds me of Gilbert Gottfried... Which seems a fun and energetic sort of energy.

  • Haha, loves this song

  • Hubba hubba!

  • LMAO - Watch the keyboardist do a kick just after 0:22

  • Hot Pants!!! Yeahhhhhh!!!!!

  • 1:42 *BAM! BAM!*

  • Best thing in Kate: She knows so HOT she is....

  • Not my favorite B-52's song, but my favorite B-52's video.

  • i loved these songs growing up never knew what they were talking about but who cares

  • Does anyone remember the TV commercial from the 1980s where a woman exclaims "It's like an explosion in my pants!"? That's what I was looking for...

  • Just a simply brilliant band i love them and this is form a metal head they are just so much fun and kate is so unbearably hot it shoul be illigal

  • que rico bailan!! asiii uno baja de peso ..!! ya se..me pondre a bailar esto todos los dias...hahajjaj veamos como me va..me tomare el antes y el despues!!! uffffff

  • A rarity that needed a revisit! LOVE IT!

  • Anybody spot Julee Cruise? I read she joined the band for the tour after Cindy left.

  • There has been an explosion in my pants.

  • Gosh this is awesome. Luv Hotpants- and especially love seeing Kate in them!

  • cute song an dvideo though it is dated. I don't think they play this one too often.

  • I take the chance to say it´s thrilling 2 see so many folks below their 30s following The B-52´s...I was at one of their concerts in Brasil (AWESOME) and saw many of those youngster shaking their Cosmic Thing! That´s right! Let´s shake our Comic Things for a better, more understanding and peaceful WORLD!

  • lookalikes: Fred Schneider and Rand Paul.

  • Im very glad I was born in the early 70s because it means I have been in love with The B-52´s work and history for over 30 years now.For me,they ARE and WILL FOREVER be THE BEST MUSIC BAND OF THE UNIVERSE!

  • @TheDolphin52 Do you have The B-52s Universe hardcover book?

  • @RaguelAngelofBalance - Dear B52s friend, sadly I don´t. But I hope to get it in this lifetime of mine.....though Im glad 2 say the Universe I come from is quite alike the B52´s universe!! I´m Aquarius btw.

  • @TheDolphin52 Try not to overpay for it. Some ridiculous pricing on Amazon.

  • They started as friends and remained friends even though like in all friendships they´ve had ups and downs. They all have side projects, like Fred´s poetry writing or Cindy´s solo work. There isn´t a feeling of "ownership" of the band and this is perhaps one of the essences of their artistic longevity.Like all real deep-in-the-heart friends, they may not be together all the time, but this is a band of friends and this means they will always stick together.Like Ricky has been doing.

  • So she took a brake, only to feel like she wanted to get back with the band some time later (she herself said it in one interview). She started touring with the band and can b seen doing some "Good Stuff" album songs (See video of Revolution Earth-she´s back on the vocals).

  • But then Cosmic Thing came out in 1989 and was an enormous commecial success, which was actually quite good as the band was in dire straits. After touring so much with the band,Cindy decided it was time for her to devote to her own personal side, and went to raise her family with her long-time husband.

  • Just for the record, especially for the young ones who know little about The B-52´s:The band started as a group of friends having fun playing together circa 1977.They first played as a band at at bar/restaurant in Athens-GA.Keith was Ricky´s best friend, since they were children.Fred and Kate met the 2 and it was only natural for Cindy 2 join in.After Ricky´s passing,Cindy felt devastated and the whole group had seemed to glide into a halt.

  • @TheDolphin52 The only part of the story you left out was that after Ricky died, Keith switched from the drums to the guitar in order to preserve Ricky's unique tunings. So when they broke with Cosmic Thing, they were still using a sound that Ricky had helped invent. It's a pretty inspiring story..

  • @omgitsmikegravel U´r quite right,my B52s friend. When the band came back together after some fierce financial instability & grief, they started jamming & Keith moved on to the guitar.Actually,he and Ricky used to play the instrument together at Ricky´s place (said by both Cindy and Keith themselves on interviews).Cosmic thing reproduced a lot of Ricky´s unique guitar riffs and this is gladly back with FUNPLPEX (HAVE YOU FOLKS GOT YA COPY ALREADY?),listen to TO MUCH TO THINK ABOUT,4 ex.

  • @TheDolphin52 I just started listening to the B52S again. I haven't bought a copy OF FUNPLEX yet and I really want to show my support, but you can listen to five awesome cuts at the B52s website, and I thinks it's some of their strongest material ever. Love the guitars! Some of the best Keith Strickland guilar work ever on "Pump" and "Hot Corners"

  • Lol! Dirty old Fred!

  • that arse has me tryin to remember why did they not give kate the freedom of america i love that cute little butt

  • supercalahalitosis!!??

  • greatness!!!!!

  • :20 - :35 love to watch kate and fred getting down.

  • this is a silly song :]

  • Ever profound though!

  • yep! i love it

  • that's B-52's trademark!

    wacky!

  • i have no problem with that:D

  • Oh, to see Cindy with those beautiful long stems of hers in a pair of hot pants!! Wishful thinking at this time of the band's career.

  • i guess this was a song dedicated to kate.

    the vid was sizzzzzlin'.

  • Julee-Love-Shack-Cruise. I'm sorry but it is impressive...

  • @techslam...Cindy took a break to start her family at this time she just wanted a break.Ricky died around the time of B.O.T.S was done.Way before Cosmic Thing.

  • I agree that Miss Wilson would've rocked this song! Cindy's great!!

Julie C. is good here. She's done some cool solo albums.

  • Wow. this takes me back. First time I heard this was at a party, the beer was cheap and warm,. the liqour was nothing but boxed wine and coolers, and the party was a blast. Here's to the wild days.

  • w.k.1: Just saw the B's last nite, & all that u say re Cindy is true...BUT I greatly enjoy this vid, too, having seen that tour--& now I remember partly why: in those days, Kate(in her 40's) was 1 of the most beautiful & sexy women on the planet, then or...ever! Did enjoy seeing Julee C. w/ them, too, having & being fans of the(1st) Lynch/Badalamenti album...this gave her a chance to show another side, & she filled in admirably.

  • The song would've been way better with Cindy because of her soulful, playful funky voice.

Cindy's voice is versatile and she sings it all--new wave, rock, pop, ballads!

CIndy usually puts the POWER and trademark B's ATTITUDE in the B's songs and has sung LEAD on some of thier most best loved songs.

I was let down with the Good Stuff cd because Cindy's voice and presence would have made it incredible.

Even on Funplex Cindy's voice is so cool on the songs and makes them pop!

  • not to mention cindy's dancing.she was the one going off in the early days. partly because kate was behind the organ but mostly because she rocks

  • Ah this takes me back...y'know this is not my fave song of theirs but it makes me laugh. I've caught them 2 of the 3 times they stomped through the nothwest states of the Funplex tour.I can honestly say nothing beats seeing this band live!

Julie and the whole Julie Cruise era was great for her helping out and she did sing very well with Kate(important!) but I always wanted Cindy back ASAP.

It would be kinda cool if she guested with Cindy and Kate on a new song...eh?

  • Honestly, I think Ms. Julie Cruise looks kinda' manish

  • BTY ,Cindy was in mourning, her brother had died of AIDS.this tour with Julie was still an experience 1993-1994 I think....

  • i love kate shorts they are awesome

  • its always really weird to see Julee Cruise singing with them, because I always think of her as that haunting bar singer in Twin Peaks... But she's pretty off key in this one.

  • I've said this before but Kate is looking good in those shorts. Hot hot hot!!

  • God I love this band.

  • Oh this is just classic thanks

  • this is a great performance! it sucks that cindy is nowhere to be found.

  • that Kate is one sexy minx

  • I saw this tour . It was great but I missed Cindy!

  • mmm...she's looking mighty doable in those purple shorts...i don't care if she's 85...if i'm not mistaken i can see a camel toe at the beginning....

  • Man Kate does have some hot pants on doesnt she?

  • Given that she's about 60 y/o here! Smokin' indeed!

  • Kates about 45 at this time and when Cindy was out -- which she also was for the Tell it Like it Tis vid which was amazing the way Kate looked and Rocked in that. Someone cheated us out of it and took it down --

Kate was born in 1948 and she is 61 now! And they are beautiful!

It's too bad I think they took down the Love Shack vid and if you like Kate she is breathtaking in that!

  • Sorry, Just not the same without Cindy Wilson

  • I agree!

  • Can't belive this song didn't chart. It's great!

  • this song is soo bomb :)

  • i wanted to know if it's true that after Cindy left the rest of the band wouldn't let her back in, or so it seems she suggested on recent radio interview. As much as i love the B's i think they thought they didn't need her on Goodstuff or anything else now they had made it again after Cosmic Thing. How wrong, you only have to listen to Debbie to hear what she brings to the party. This whole Julee Cruise stand in was ridiculous!

  • kate doesn't really even have pants!

  • She is wearing "hot pants".And I'm lying....They're actually called hot pants!

  • Can anyone explain why this wasn't on the radio- like, CONSTANTLY???

  • This is my favorite song from good stuff!

    Awsome!!

  • i love The B-52's i saw them the other day in birmingham xD

I was bought up listening to their music

  • && yeh, Not the same without Cindy!

  • So true!

  • Hot pants flair off,on your cute little butt, they're getting so hot, you might have to take them off...LOL!!!!

  • This song rocks....Does anyone know where I can get the lyrics????

  • In the good stuff album booklet. Or just look up hot pants explosion lyrics on the internet.

  • whatever song you wanna know the lyrics for... just tell me cuz i know em all!

    :)

    lol

  • I really like this song, but the girl filling in for Cindy look kind of like a dude!!!!

  • OMG!

    SHE DOES!!!

    LOL

  • I know!

  • wow

    thats amazing <3

  • I know....LOL

  • where on earth did u get this?!?

  • This video rocks! Julee did a great job subbing for Cindy; loved her dance moves!

Thanks for posting this excellent song!

  • This sucks.... the B's without Cindy, suck.

  • it's not the same, but it is still a good song.

  • <y mom said only Kate and Fred were the only ones important to the band, but after listening to this song with no Cindy, you realize how important she is!

  • she acually thought that kate and fred were the only important ones! just because kate has the dominating voice dosen't mean they don't need her!

  • You can't have The B-52's without Kate,Fred,Cindy, and even Keith because they're all original members.

  • I think Keith is like...the most important! He does like all of the instraments!

  • Hahaha... That was great!

  • hot pants explosion is the best song off the album thanks for posting

  • It's so funny to see Julie Cruise doing Cindy's part again. I'm glad she took time to have her babies...I'm thrilled she came back! Thanks B's for 30 years of SMOKIN' TUNES!!!!!!!!!!

  • cindy doesnt have a part in this song. she wasnt even on the good stuff album. it was all fred, kate and keith

  • Muy buena versión bien power, el bajo impecable, y bue.. KATE PIERSON como siempre la rompe, una diosa, a esa voz no hay con que darle!

  • get on down- ah ha ha

  • Excelente, hace años no veia este video, gracias por subirlo! Aguante los B's!!!

  • Yay!!! I've been trying to find some video of the band when Julee Cruise was substituting for Cindy. I love Cindy to death, but I've also been a big fan of Julee's since her work on Twin Peaks! I remember how bizarre it seemed at the time that she was going to fill in for Cindy, but from this video it seems like she did a pretty damn good job!

  • AWESOME!!! thanks for posting!!! kate is working IT!!!

    love this song.. thanks!!!

    b-blair

  • i love this song and this video is hilarious!! thanks for posting!!

  • Supercalihalitosis Kate's outfit is the absolute mostess! Wooooo!

  • Fantastic!

  • wow, that's a great live version of "hot pants explosion" thanks for posting! that's a FUN song!
