@MRmkay9876543210 It isn't. I'm a massive fan of Metroid and have only played Halo 3 to any greta length but I can tell you that the two play nothing alike. The theme is also nothing alike. The only reason you perceive it to be a rip-off is because they both wear futuristic high-tech armour with visors that obscure their faces. That and the fact that they are both super-soldiers (which is a massive trope anyway) is the only similarity. I'm guessing you don't play much Halo.

It was a slight let down for myself and some others that hoped or expected online multiplayer with Metroid Prime Trilogy though but that's all water under the bridge now so I'll just leave that alone. I'm just saying I think it would be a fun idea for a future release. Yeah, I know, "fixed" was the wrong word. Let's say "included" then.

Speaking as a Halo fan, I'd rage if they wasted developer resources on multiplayer...in a game that's fundamentally predicated on feeling as though you're all alone in a hostile alien world. That feeling of solitude and isolation is integral to the Metroid experience, and they'd water the single player component down if they allowed cooperative play or any kind of multiplayer component.

If they did happen to include an online multiplayer it most likely would be an upgraded MP2 multiplayer and would take nothing away from that "lone wolf in a hostile world" feeling as MP2 multiplayer had no impact on the single player mode. As for watering down, if they had enough room on one Wii game disk to put all 3 Primes on it, what makes you think they'd have to water down the single player mode for one game with online gameplay?

@crazyjellydonut Don't forget, Samus ALSO has a mini-arsenal in that suit of hers: bombs, power-bombs, missiles, at least 4 different beam weapons (don't recall the max in the series), a jump that essentially turns her into a buzzsaw, and the different variations on the super missile, and she can STILL flip all over the goddamn room confusing the fuck out of enemies. What can MC carry? 5 grenades, two weapons (sometimes 3), and a semi-reasonable amount of ammo, and he's slow as molasses.

Quick comment about the picture... If the Samus to the left represents Samus in Corruption (I assume with the visible Grapple lasso arm attachment), the Samus on the right represent Echoes (with the Light Suit), and the one in the middle in the Varia suit is the original Prime, then why can't they use Samus' original design in Prime, rather than the Prime 2 and 3 redesign?
