Alright, so I finally watched it and really, it's a decent movie and I love watching socialists get killed as much as the next guy, but it's not exactly a good way to win people's affection.

The killer sees people ignorant, or totally apathetic to a situation and decides the only way to make people care is to cause mayhem. Take the recent London Riots. An interviewer asked a rioter if violence was a good way to get their message across, and the rioter replied if they weren't rioting, no one would talk to them.
