My main point was that Canadian football has been around a while. It's quite a different game. Ricky Williams came up to play when he was suspended. He didn't do too well. Power backs aren't suited to the Canadian Version of the game.
It's a lot of fun. It doesn't have the same production values or athletes that the NFL has, but from playing and watching both, I prefer the Canadian version.

After a few years someone decided that it would be a good idea to have the bests teams from each league play in a championship game. In 1970 the 2 merged into one league.

I think USA football will always be vastly superior to the rest of the world. We'll always have the superior athletes, coaching, and tradition for the sport. Plus, it's one of the last major sports we can call our own.
I think it might be easier for Canadians to adjust to USA rules than Americans to Canadian rules. We have more exposure to the NFL and NCAA. I don't think many Americans remember the CFL or have ever heard of the CIS lol. These international games are cool though. I wish this got more press in Canada.

the thing about the CFL is that we play with 3 downs so we have to go in the air pretty often. its very exciting to watch because all the teams are fairly even, unlike the NFL that has its strong teams and weak teams. n also everyone has to realise that 1) football is bigger in the USA and 2) compare USA's 305million to Canadas 40million...ofcourse they are going to have muchhhh more to choose from with more talent.. I like football... but to be honest the another brutal game would be rugby,,, thats where the real ruggers are at... 80 minutes non stop running, averaging 14 tackles a game, no pads... its no joke and neither is football... both are competitive sports

Are you kidding me? Did you even look at the US's roster? Most of the kids on it go to DII and DIII schools which is the lowest form of college football. There was not a single highschool player ranked in the top 100 on this team.

Canada has 40,000 more Junior hockey players than the US and have a much larger interest in it. Yet in the first year America hold tryouts and doesn't pick the team months in advance they win...

the thing about the CFL is that we play with 3 downs so we have to go in the air pretty often. its very exciting to watch because all the teams are fairly even, unlike the NFL that has its strong teams and weak teams. n also everyone has to realise that 1) football is bigger in the USA and 2) compare USA's 305million to Canadas 40million...ofcourse they are going to have muchhhh more to choose from with more talent.. Canada put up a fight but alas, the better team won, congrats to them

No the USA sends the benchwarmers from a few DIV 1 schools and a bunch of DIV 2 and 3 schools. If they USA sent its best it wouldnt help the sport spread. The main goal is to spread the sport worldwide kind of how basketball took off after the dream team.

We Americans laugh now but if the sport becomes more popular like Basketball and Baseball we might not be laughing long. In baseball we get our ass's kicked pretty much all the time and the gap in basketball is closing every year.
Also people are putting to much emphasis on speed. In football its a combination of speed size and quickness. If you can get at 6'2" 240lbs guy that can run the 40 in 4.6 Plus have off the ball speed that is a monster.
Its all about speed/size ratio in football.

the gap in basketball is not closing, son. maybe you didn't watch the olympics in 2008. we never play with our best baseball players in world competition anyways so that sums up for the lack of domination in that sport. americans should be banned from playing other countries in american football. look at the CFL, its mostly all made up of americans. i think we will be laughing for a very, very long time.

Again, not trying to be a dick, but if it were that much of a change you wouldn't see players go to the CFL because they didn't get drafted in the NFL. Piss poor argument you're presenting, though. If you look at the CFL and college players' scout reports, some NCAA teams' players; e.g. Oregon Ducks, Florida Gators, Texas Longhorns, easily have more speed than CFL players.
