I think it's a question of history repeating itself. Once a nation has undergone such an extreme trauma as that of the Holocaust, some members of that community, sometimes with considerable power, will go to any lengths to protect themselves from that happening again. The Holocaust is without a doubt the darkest chapter in the history of mankind. Those who deny it are living in a sad and somewhat worrying fantasy land. Although the exact numbers will never be known, it is an accepted fact that no less than 6 million Jews were systematically murdered by this regime during world war 2. I honestly believe the final number is somewhat higher we will never know, what we do know is that this abhorrent crime happened, and we must strive never to let it happen again.

I think it's a question of history repeating itself. Once a nation has undergone such an extreme trauma as that of the Holocaust, some members of that community, sometimes with considerable power, will go to any lengths to protect themselves from that happening again. The Holocaust is without a doubt the darkest chapter in the history of mankind. Those who deny it are living in a sad and somewhat worrying fantasy land. Although the exact numbers will never be known, it is an accepted fact that no less than 6 million Jews were systematically murdered by this regime during world war 2. I honestly believe the final number is somewhat higher we will never know, what we do know is that this abhorrent crime happened, and we must strive never to let it happen again.

To the question of fyfman: I'm not denying the holocaust by the meaning of the word. 'Holocaust' means 'complete(ly) burning' and numerous bodies have been cremated in the camps. But up to today there is no physical evidence that ever any of those burned had been killed by gas. That is, there is no single bone fragment, tooth or so that would support this allegation. The sick victims shown in many films suffered with diseases like especially typhus and were not victims of gassing.

my grandmother was a 14 yr old polish catholic girl when the nazis stormed into her home and threw her and her sisters in camps. my grandfather was an italian militant who came and got her out...they escaped to england and got married.
she died 5 yrs ago, but 2 years prior, she flew to poland and found her sister...they havent seen each other since they were seperated.

yeah i agree with reparations for black victims and their descendents - should have happened A LONG time ago.. though am on the whole against comparing suffering.. all suffering is wrong..
and to clarify a couple of things - Jews werent (and still arent on the whole) considered Caucasian, and were considered inhuman - this is how such horrors were justified.

First of all, Israel is not filled with oil. The oil is in Iraq and Saudia Arabia. Second of all, what do you want us to do? Open the gates for the palastinians to kill us, or just kill ourselves? What other country in the world gives resources to people that a part of them want to annihilate it? Before you start accusing people, learn the acts, and then think what would you do. Zionism has many diffrent branches (political, religous...) each of these branches supports the main idea of Zionism (which is Jewish self determination), but they try to acheive it in diffrent ways.
Zionism is more about nationality than about religion. I believe (like Herzel) that the Jewish nation needs a homeland, that has nothing to do with the fact that someone believes in god and the other doesn't.
