okaay, here's a better way to do it... download a backing track, a decent one, you can find loads and either sing yourself or get someone else to sing it and keep the backing track the same but make your voice 12/8 notes higher... if it's still all jumpy, when you sing, sing half speed so when you speed it up it will be higher but normal speed :D hope this helps...
