  • I thought Edgar was going to fold the towel for you :P Thanks much for sharing Edgar (and others) with us :)

  • where did you find him?

  • haha, smart bird

  • Silly question - what about windows? Your birds aren't clipped and are free to fly where they want! But don't they hit the window? I have pet parakeet and it bumps into windows very hard. Since that happened, I won't let him fly in rooms with windows.

Ravens are a lot smarter - so do they know to avoid the windows?

  • Very cool!!! Annabelle lee is my favorite from poe. From a balt. Native. GO RAVENS!!!

  • Do you let Edgar fly anywhere?

  • @Aizacc84 - yes.

  • That's cute as can be.

God bless these critters and the people that love them.

  • Is he still real friendly? I have heard that Crows are best for most people compared to Ravens and I'm not sure why. I really can't decide which I want. Need more information.

  • @ratrod67 - he's very friendly with me, not strangers.

  • I'd like to talk to you. I'm torn between a Hybrid Raven or African Pied Crow.

  • @ratrod67 - I don't think they are much different, except in color; but you do know that ravens are the smartest avian second in intelligence only to the great ape :)

  • I think anytime you have birds that go out of a cage, you have to be ready to clean up poop off of everything.

Anyways, He looks bored :P I bet he would love it if you set up puzzles in the house.

  • i used to to raise ravens. They are very difficult to have in the house! I have lots of funny memories of those times :)

  • Hi can u tell me if hybrid ravens like yours are legal in CA ? :)

    thanks much

  • Did he just poop in your house at 2:01?

  • @synal ~ all the time.

  • @euromerc wow! they're really lucky to have such a kind mother who still lets them into the house!

  • @euromerc i have seen a video on tv , bird dipers . Or how you write it . In all kinds of designs .

    Take care

  • so basically they eat watever they want they dont have any specific food

  • @l3gonal084 ~ They eat puppy chow because it has a lot of protein.

  • @euromerc I wonder if the raven is actually smarter than the cat....

  • What do you feed crow/raven with? I want to befriend with few wild crow/raven.

  • @ElliFong ~ throw out some dry dog food for them.

  • Ah, you got him from the Corvid Ranch? How much was he?

    He's a very beautiful bird, I must say! :)

  • @seasailorsummer ~ you would have to contact Corvid Ranch, I'm not sure what they're selling for now. Edgar is 5.

  • Cool Raven! What Kind of Raven is Edgar? He is very big.

  • @JeanneDarc46 ~ Raven is an African Pied Crow/Brown-Necked raven hybrid from Corvid Ranch in Alabama.

  • @euromerc Thanks! He is very beautyful! :-)

  • @JeanneDarc46 ~ Edgar is an African Pied-Crow/brown-necked raven hybrid.

  • I am so amused

  • Ravens are huge oO

  • Cool guy.

I like how the cat sort of lives in another dimension, not bothering nor being bothered - nevermore!

I see Edgar has a leg band; what does that signify?

You might also enjoy the parrot vids on my channel - click my name, above.

  • @KutWrite ~ Steve the cat doesn't know what species he is :) Edgar is banded because he is a hybrid raven, and that is to track him if he ever got out.

  • @KutWrite ~ It's an I.D. bracelet.

  • @euromerc - Haha! Manly jewelry for a decidedly manly bird!

Funny to hear the lady refer to herself as "mommy." Quite an image!

  • @KutWrite ~ That's my boy :)

  • He seems like a good companion :P Id like to have a pet Raven, so that I would train him to hunt for me :D

  • @Trentaur ~ it would be small prey!

  • I have some loud fellahs who live in the trees next to the apartment. Me and my gf always joke that they scream "welcome baaaaaaaacckk" whenever I arrive. I call them My Boyz. Watching your video made me think of the fictitious nature that we give them, which in Edgars case, happens to be reality! Thanks for the awesome vid

  • The only reason I would get a bird is if I knew he'd poop outside. NOT on the kitchen floor from on the counter

  • @airboy90 ~ he's an opportunist.

  • ...You're a thief - well that's just a racist comment!

  • @helixscape ~ If you offer Edgar one chip out of a bag, he will take the whole bag!!

  • XXXD Ravens and crows rule!!!

  • He's a cheeky little bugger isn't he!

  • OMG! Edgar thinks he owns the house!

  • A raven came right up to me when I was in yellowstone. I share some of my sandwich with it

  • That's awesome!!

  • They're smart birds they know by acting cute we'll give them what they want

  • where'd yah get him

  • From Corvid Ranch :)

  • @euromerc where is Corvid Ranch?

  • @joyceyang95 Corvid Ranch is in Alabama, U.S. If you Google Corvid Ranch, their site will come up.

  • 1.46 lol:D exploring something.smart bird

  • Yeah, it's funny how they jump back when they startle themselves!

  • Did you get him at the Corvid ranch?

  • Yes, I did.

  • Has he ever watched you fold laundry? It looked like he was trying to imitate folding the towel. Great bird, beautiful!

  • He's watched me fold laundry, but I think in this case, he's trying to OWN the towel! Sometimes he'll try to cache something in a towel, but if I try to take it away from him, he gets REALLY mad!

  • Go Edgar! :)

  • can they bond with more than one person? do they attack guests etc?

  • Edgar can be as nice as can be, because he was hand fed since he was a chick, and honestly, I don't know if he knows he's a raven! He's demonstratively much smarter and agile the the crows. He has much larger feet. I still have to watch my eyes around him; because after all, he is STILL a wild animal. He has bonded with only me, and will untie guest's shoelaces and peck their shoes :)

  • are the hybrids nicer in personality terms than the pure ravens? Pure ravens can be very aggressive and poke out eyes and such now? how does your hybrid raven compare in personality and smarts to crows?

  • But Mama! It's shiny!!!

How pleasant are they as pets? Lots of care needed I'm sure?

  • They are very affectionate and smart. But just now, while I was answering your question, I heard a commotion in the bathroom, and Edgar was pulling the tissues out of the box one by one, and had my watch in the sink! They're like chimpanzees.00000000000000000000000000000000 and he just typed all these zeros!

  • How cute!
