Silly question - what about windows? Your birds aren't clipped and are free to fly where they want! But don't they hit the window? I have pet parakeet and it bumps into windows very hard. Since that happened, I won't let him fly in rooms with windows.
Ravens are a lot smarter - so do they know to avoid the windows?
Is he still real friendly? I have heard that Crows are best for most people compared to Ravens and I'm not sure why. I really can't decide which I want. Need more information.
@ratrod67 - I don't think they are much different, except in color; but you do know that ravens are the smartest avian second in intelligence only to the great ape :)
@KutWrite ~ Steve the cat doesn't know what species he is :) Edgar is banded because he is a hybrid raven, and that is to track him if he ever got out.
I have some loud fellahs who live in the trees next to the apartment. Me and my gf always joke that they scream "welcome baaaaaaaacckk" whenever I arrive. I call them My Boyz. Watching your video made me think of the fictitious nature that we give them, which in Edgars case, happens to be reality! Thanks for the awesome vid
He's watched me fold laundry, but I think in this case, he's trying to OWN the towel! Sometimes he'll try to cache something in a towel, but if I try to take it away from him, he gets REALLY mad!
Edgar can be as nice as can be, because he was hand fed since he was a chick, and honestly, I don't know if he knows he's a raven! He's demonstratively much smarter and agile the the crows. He has much larger feet. I still have to watch my eyes around him; because after all, he is STILL a wild animal. He has bonded with only me, and will untie guest's shoelaces and peck their shoes :)
are the hybrids nicer in personality terms than the pure ravens? Pure ravens can be very aggressive and poke out eyes and such now? how does your hybrid raven compare in personality and smarts to crows?
They are very affectionate and smart. But just now, while I was answering your question, I heard a commotion in the bathroom, and Edgar was pulling the tissues out of the box one by one, and had my watch in the sink! They're like chimpanzees.00000000000000000000000000000000 and he just typed all these zeros!
I thought Edgar was going to fold the towel for you :P Thanks much for sharing Edgar (and others) with us :)

I think anytime you have birds that go out of a cage, you have to be ready to clean up poop off of everything.
Anyways, He looks bored :P I bet he would love it if you set up puzzles in the house.

Cool guy.
I like how the cat sort of lives in another dimension, not bothering nor being bothered - nevermore!
I see Edgar has a leg band; what does that signify?
