If Lazarus doesn't care about his body and is SO looking forward o heaven, then why doesn't he kill himself? If he's already saved then he'd go straight to heaven and could be having a prime rib buffet with jebus by dinnertime! By the way, how did he get to be a bum in the first place? Alcohol probably had something to do with it. That and he probably has a lousy work ethic and is lazy.

It's a shame that the rich man didn't have a fire hose to use on Lazarus. That would both clean him up AND chase him off at the same time! You try having a BUM parked outside your home and see how long your kindness and generosity lasts.

The Rich Man is right to be angry. How would you like to have a SMELLY BUM camped right outside your front door? Every single time you try to talk some sense into him all he can do is spout off at the mouth some religious nonsense, offering no original thought. BTW, the guy playing the bum is the best actor in this film.

I can't believe that anyone can watch this movie and not have the "devil" literally scared out of them. Hell IS a real place, whether you choose to joke about it or not. And if you DO joke about it, you will be one of those burning in the pits of Hell. I saw this film when I was between 7-9 years old and I have NEVER forgotten the fear I had once the movie was over. I'm sure it was the memory of that movie and that fear that led me to a vivid dream which then led me to Christ.

It's easy to watch this movie and not be scared. You just have to be an adult and think for yourself. You saw the film as a child and it worked. The scare tactics indoctrination branded you emotionally and the result was as desired. Sorry for you. I grew up before I saw it, so I realize it is simply a horrid fantasy that has nothing to do with reality, the product of power-hungry, mean-spirited or supersticious and fearful, pessimistic minds.

Is this the film that depicts going to Hell if you die without Jesus in your heart? I thought I saw this once when I was younger. I remember a scene where I guy crashes his motorcycle and his helmet fly's off with his head in it still. at least that's what I thought happened. I know he dies then he try's to repent but it's to late and he goes to Hell. Anyone know if the scene i mentioned might be in this film.

Hell is a Reality & FACT that many people refuse to believe; but who will face it after physical death. The very Fact that many posting on this thread are DENYING The Existence of HELL-FIRE is proof enough for me that Hell is Real. The pitiful thing about it is that many have ALREADY died and gone to HELL who have not believed this message of the 1970s by Estus Pirkle. Today we have men like Bill Wiese who have spent 23 Minutes In Hell; and has returned to Tell ALL: yet some STILL don't Believe.

Philosophical question for you:

What possible motivation would I have for believing in your god?

Hold the "YER GONNA BURRRRN" shtick, and approach this from a rational point of view: how are you going to convince someone who truly doesn't believe in God that he exists? Telling me I'll burn in hell doesn't work, because - I don't believe in Hell, and I have no reason to believe in it.
