I grew up in Newark. I used to love seeing the courthouse all lit up. I haven't seen it since I went in the military quite a few years ago. Glad to see its still going on, hope to be able to come home an see it again. Its always been one of the things that makes it feel like Christmas time. Thanks for posting that.

Neat! Sunday night, we got to go clear up to the roof -- as in the flagpole. We're friends with the people who have done the lighting setup the last several years. What a treat that was!

I remember when I was a little girl - me and all of my cousins would sit on top of our Dad's & Uncle's shoulders and yell "Merry Christmas!" :) Now it's time for my niece and the next generation to do the same thing. I love this tradition & I hope it lasts forever. :)

I moved away for Newark when I was 10 in 1970. I have to say, seeing the light of the courthouse brings back wonderful memories. Thanks

They have one! :) They have bigband-style holiday music and singers, plus some area choral groups. It's a really big to-do.
