  • did anyone hear 11 ,12 at exactly

    1:45?

  • Maynard's been known to be a musical troll... Maybe it's supposed to be played with another song, from one of the other bands? o-o

  • the drums remind me of 30 days of night

  • If you listen carefully at around 1:45 he whispers "12". Best quality with headphones. I was thinking he might say 13 at some point because it is the album 13th Step, ya know? Crazy stuff.

  • i wonder how much thought he put into these lyrics

  • @zion2train none, just like the rest of his songs. he's a lyrical genius, it flows through him naturally.

  • WTF! The guy COUNTS and its STILL GOLD?!?

  • Crimes, whether moral or legal, tend to come with the territory of being a junkie, no words needed this time. The junkie way of life and dealing with the consequences, be they physical or psychological, is what this album portrays quite frighteningly accurately.

  • Woh at the end of this i thought there were people outside getting into sh!t. I live in the woods so it kinda freaked me out.

  • @Diggity308 lol XD

  • 13 steps not 12

  • I´m not pretty sure. It´s just my opinion. But if the title says: crimes, and Maynard starts counting from 1 to 10... I realize I have ten fingers =0

So, I commit crimes with my both hands. It´s just an opinion. Maybe it means something else but since you can get many kinds of thoughts about APC and TOOL music... XD

  • @HybridTheoryKeeper I always assumed it was like getting ready to commit a crime and you have to work yourself up in order to do it, so you count to ten and then get on with the job.

  • @MrBrandonfloyd25 haha lol you see? That´s why I say Maynard´s mucis is unique in meanings :)

  • This song took a while to grow on me, but it finally did. For me, this is a good blazing song

  • josh fucking freese!

  • I really like the part where he says 'seven'

  • Listening to this song makes me feel something's behind me... I look, then look at the monitor, and suddenly feel it's hard to look again. Fear of the...wait...wrong song.

  • starting at 0.55 it sounds like a chinies parade is goin on

  • Such deep lyrics...lol.

  • This album deserves a movie.

  • maynard's whisper > ALL

  • apc's like the girl being f*cked ass-wise, and tool's, you know, the guy with her. both quite enjoyable.

  • This makes me wanna pull a heist Ocean's Eleven style.

  • @foolycooly94 but you can only have 10

  • Tool is less lyrical than APC But way more intense. And APC is more relaxing. But they're both awesome bands with talented musicians.

  • @BloodMusicTrinity I completely agree I listen to APC when I want to chill. I listen to Tool when I want to kill.

  • NOOOOOOOO someone kill me i dissliked the video on mistake!!!!!

  • @kaas323 just click like and it'll take away the dislike

  • @kaas323 You know you can just press the like button and it takes away the dislike

  • Dream concert, Fair to Midland, Porcupine Tree and APC.

  • Listen to 10,000 days by Tool as say its not lyrical ... lol

  • @malbloodline not just lyrical, meaningful

  • anyone else think NiN?

  • "(unexplainable noise)"

    word.

  • I think it's just that while APC sounds a bit downtrodden throughout the album, it's certainly more uplifting than the pure unadulterated rage of Tool (Ticks and Leeches, Undertow). Maynard said that he just needed to move on from that chapter of his life, and i think that comes through with the lyrics in 13 step (Ex: Gravity- "I choose to live").

  • @dommer117

    Gravity is akin to Parabola.

  • Best - Band - Ever.

  • at 1:26, the voice in background scares the shit out of me when im listening with headphones.

  • @STALKER1777

I turned round 'cause I thought someone was calling me, then I saw your comment, and when I replayed it, my heart stopped for a moment.

  • I'm gunna take a wild guess and say it;s the ten seconds before someone goes and does a crime.? Like that must be a pretty pressurized moment of crazyness.

  • @tammyTOOTSIEPOP Considering the title of the album is 'Thirteenth Step', I'd assume it's more along the lines of the drug related 12 steps to recovering from abusing the product. The 8th step is making a list of the people they've harmed.

The '13th step' is relapse, where you basically go back to the substance.

  • @Xephisto Excuse me for randomly cutting in, but I'd like to add my two cents ^^

I'm not saying that I'm right and you're wrong, just to clear things up before hand. I'd just like to point out that their are thirteen steps to the gallows - always. So that's what I assumed it meant, something along those lines. But you're theory sounds better than mine, to be honest(:

  • @grillchee Oh indeed, an interesting point :P

And don't worry about randomly cutting in, that's actually a fairly valid point you bring up haha. Artists tend to leave their music up for interpretation by the audience, so many theories will exist.

  • @Xephisto Thank you(: Also: HALLELUJAH, a civilized person willing to listen to other peoples' opinions!

  • The unexplainable noise is me taking a mean shit in the morning XD

  • APC is very good. a lot of vocals but I prefer tool because its more heavy. either way both are amazing mostly because of maynard

  • Tool's ok, but they don't focus on Maynard's vocals enough. Which is why I'm rather upset that APC broke up.

  • @A7X1ROLZ They are back together btw, They are doing a comback tour right now then working more on the new stuff

  • @SquirrilyWrath FUCK THE WHAT?! :D

  • @A7X1ROLZ

if you type "weak and powerless , jimmy kimmel live" you find the recent video of them playing it right before they went on tourThey are currently writeing the new stuff.

    Woooo more APC!

  • Okay Maynard is a God. He can make any band sound amazing! his volcals are so powerful.

  • to me, Maynard from Tool/APC,and Trent Reznor from NIN, are the two greatest songwriters ever, they actually put meaning into their lyrics and make you think about differnent parts of life

  • I perfer Maynard over anything. thats just me

  • This whole album is beautiful.

  • @whiskeykamehameha ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! Maynard is a lyrical genius not to mention that he has an amazing ear for music. His albums create feelings and emotions in me that I have never experienced through music before.

  • @whiskeykamehameha totally agree

  • MORE MORE MORE I WANT MORE!!!

  • *looks sleepy like* its a lullybuy....a counting lullybye to help kids go to sleep....wenever i listen to it and i wanna sleep i count with him...lolx

  • oh men i wish that this song have more that 2 minutes

  • I'm confused XD

  • @mrslovvet look at title

  • @mrslovvet o i found out meaning what he is talking about is the ten commandments i know it sound stupid and religious but that is what hes talking about

  • @lilDroc80 Ohh OK :D

  • @lilDroc80 You're aware that most of the BEST songs have religious meaning behind them, right?

  • @TestaXDizzy Nope its either fact or fiction negative subliminal or positive subliminal i dont believe in religion only truth

  • thanks so much for putting this entire album up. saved me from having to hook up my hard drive

    :)

  • I have my brother to thank for getting me into Tool and also APC. Outstanding bands both of them. Took me awile to get into them actually but they are like the greatest thing in my life. Maynard's voice is sex basically.

  • @notmygeneration ....."maynards voice is sex.." wat??? wats that suposed to mean?

  • @toolfangirl ooh that his voice is sex

  • @notmygeneration ya....whats that mean?

  • love APC and Tool Both. Tool is more on the Metal Side with Meaningful Lyrics. APC is more on the softer dark side with passionate Lyrical abilities. .like A stranger for example Maynard uses his voice like a fucking art

  • this is my favorite song

  • Comment removed

  • I own every album by apc and tool, and there isn't a song on any of them that i don't like.

  • yeah this is gay not even a song, the outsider is pretty good

  • @EgagLatsev some call such things an interlude....but...i'm not that smart.

  • @benjamminmt yeh, some do i call them 2:34 of odd sounds

  • lol?

  • I believe the noise at the end could be the sound of an actual robbery being committed? Agree? Disagree?

  • Perfect Circle. One of the greatest bands of our time. On one hand in our age we get all the little rappers thinking they are cool 'cos they wear loads'a bling, innit?' On the other hand, you have bands like APC. They are not 'cool'. They are just plain awesome. Why do we not have more bands like this, which we urgently need to save music? And @ Shadowkraven, how would I know about these drug dens?

  • All the industry cares about these days is money. What happened to talent? Now they give people record labels because they seem marketable. We need more awesome bands like this!

  • @cheezburger45 It always has been like that, not just now.

  • the voices are from a drug den in Santa Monica CA....6th street.....just ask Badger

  • go maynard go!

    :o)

  • I thought the numbers meant all the crimes that were committed.

  • I think that someone should extract thoose voices/noises at the back of the song, I would take care of it, but I'm to lazy xP And got no time? nooo... just to lazy.

  • I love APC ,I think is one of the most important bands of all times, because they have a unique sound, and that´s something very hard to achive, I pray every day for a new album, I wish they return some day

  • im as sad as u are. ive been waiting for another apc album. its really a shame that the band is on indefinite hiatous.

  • @madmonkey1326

    same with tool.

    I want a new album.

  • relapse?

  • what i figured as well

  • does this song refer to the tenth song in the album

    Pet?

    unable to comform

  • all you down there waste your time and suck.

    APERFECTCIRCLEROCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • great album !

  • the 13th step generally refers to sleeping with newcomers after you've completed the 12... sort of a tongue-in-cheek inside joke...

  • yeah, or relapsing.

  • lmao and u know this how???

  • by the time you reach the ripe old age of 29, you learn these sorts of things :P

Friends in low places are as useful as friends in high places.

  • I just started listening to this band, and I have to say they're different. xD; I haven't heard a band with this sort of style, and I want this album. <3 This song doesn't have many lyrics to offer, but the music sort of speaks for itself. o:

  • if u think this is good and diffrent, listen the maynerd main band TOOL

  • tool fucking awsome dude

  • I think I actually prefer APC. Heard Tool first and then when I heard APC I was like "woah". I think APC's more lyrical, whereas Tool is more instrumental =] Both awesome though - 2 of my fave bands 8D

  • ...you know that Tool and APC are the same person pretty much its just Tool is more instrumental and APC is more of lyrics and meanings sure Tool does have a lot of good songs with good lyrics and lots of meanings as well Maynards good at that for damn sure hes a god with his lyrics and music

  • apc isnt even maynards band, Its billy howerdel's,maynard asked if he could do the vocals.... Anyways for the exact story look up apc in the wikipedia... Its just im tired of maynard geting all the credit.

  • @x4aperfecttool Isn't Billy the lyricist? And you're right maynard is amazing but he can't take credit for this great band.

  • @x4aperfecttool yet seems like songs in their are only involving maynard.. judith..3 libras ect. ect. idk about others.. they may have worked together on them

  • @killerkat92 I agree

  • Comment removed

  • @EgagLatsev lol aye =P was talking generally though xD

  • @EgagLatsev HOW CAN THEY BE.. the lyrics form the two were written and performed by the same person MJK..

  • @EgagLatsev ROFL haha

  • @killerkat92 Yeah I agree. It's kind of ironic that you happen to be posting that APC is more lyrical on this video though xD

  • @killerkat92 I think tool would trump them if they wouldn't use so many voice modificators.

  • @killerkat92 So true

Personally I like Tool more since it's easier for me to get into the music rather than the lyrics

But they're both so damn addictive

  • @killerkat92 APC is pretty instrumental too ^^ its like the music says as much as the lyrics, whereas Tool's music says a bigger part of the song.

  • @LucidxBliss True, but I just meant like in comparison :)

  • @killerkat92 Didn't mean to be all argumentative ^^; Both are amazing

  • @killerkat92 totes agree nvr thought of it that way...i was always torn between the two so i just took each band as a sepperate group seeing as they differ in many ways. both are full of WIN tho

  • @killerkat92 You realize you posted this comment on an instrumental APC song, right?

P.S. Fuck you DeltJuan for saying "totes"

  • @rotateman My point was that a lot of APC's songs are more lyrical. Like, if you were to listen to an instrumental Tool song, there'd probably be next to no words in it at all :)

Just a random comment from over a year ago xD.

  • @killerkat92 Same here.. I love both, but I like APC more. It's a different type of music. I like tool, but I think APC's style is better.

  • @killerkat92 : well, the singer once told that Tool is more "masculine" when APC is more "feminine". I think they're both amazigh.

  • @killerkat92 yeahh think APC is much more accessible to new listeners than tool is

  • @killerkat92 You havn't heard alot of Tool songs then, Because they're EXTREMELY lyrical.

  • @killerkat92 I agree with you but you gotta love both of em for who they both are and man Danny carey, Adam, and Justin are bad ass musicians.. I love them both.. mainly cause I'm a drummer and Danny is a beast on the drums

  • @RoyalGerg Josh Freese is a beast, too. ;)

  • @killerkat92 listen to the song 10,000 days both parts, doesnt get ne more lyrical than that, Maynard at his finest.

  • @killerkat92 you my friend just threw a steak to the Maynard wolves xD

  • @killerkat92 2 of my fave bands *small penis*?

  • apc is amazing and i have all their cds.... each album presents something slightly different to me which i tend to like when its just a little different each time.... instumentals usually get a better point across to me tho because u if u open ur mind the music can actually talk to u if u listen just right:)

  • lol no we wont suck your cock.. what makes you think that?

Besides that, well ehmm ye.. Good luck on your tokio thing, there is only APC here. Sooo.. go away.

  • u're gay

  • LOL

  • Tokyo Hotel? Never heard of them. Must not be that good.

  • @Trippy420Hippy lmfao.... not even joking who r they? just looked themup on Youtube and there not good at all sounds like garbage

  • @p7social

It's your opinion, but what do you like then? I love to hear suggestions.

  • @IGITnBLACK im more into TOOL, APC , NIN, 90s metal or industral

  • @p7social

    I'll look into those then.

  • @p7social totally rules!!! I miss 90's grunge

  • @Trippy420Hippy just cos you haven't heard of sonething, doesn't mean they're not any good

  • @Rosehawka Oh no its garbage. its homosexual garbage for 12 year olds girls

  • @MegaJuddo personnal taste dick sucker

  • @Rosehawka he was jokeing, Tokyo Hotel sucks

  • @PvtWang, huh, i still stand by what i've said, and anyway, there are worse bands/artists than Tokio Hotel

  • @PvtWang hmm, personnal taste maybe,

  • @999alex9991 scientific fact

  • i always thought that the "13th" step refered to the 12 step rehab program, that no one tells you what the 13th step is....??? thats just what i think...

  • any of you geniuses know what hes saying last few seconds?

  • This song is 8th on the CD and the title is "Crimes". The 8th Step of the AA program is that one must: make a list of all persons he/she had harmed (i.e. a list of "CRIMES"), and be willing to make amends to them all. I believe this MJK's musical interpretation of that step. Of course this is only my opinion.

  • love this one :)

  • fyi:the "unexplainable noise" is the sounds of a hospital.when you listen carefully you can hear stretcher rails clanging and nurses and doctors talking thus leading into the next track.this song creeps me out in that sense as ive woken up in the er a couple times from drugs.its like a perfect description of it.i never thought thered be anything better then Jar Of Flies till i heard this...

  • The 13th Step Is Whatever You Want It To Be.

  • destroyallnations THAT WAS SICK LOL

    shame on you :p

  • Not the Worst ive heard, but not the best either... don't get me wrong they're awesome, just don't wanna bother wasting itunes for their music

  • i thought 13th steppin was fucking an aa member in your group.

  • fuck step five...between me and MY god..

  • I know what it's about. Track 8, Step 8 of the twelve step program.

Step 8: Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

The whole album is based on it, each track representing the steps.

  • cool man, very cool

  • there are 13 tracks so how can that be. i fully understand what your saying im just questioning it

  • That's the point. The album is called the thirteenth step, referring to the 12 step programs and implying there is a 13th step. 13 steps, 13 songs.

  • ya i released that after i posed. now i kinda feel like a stooge
