I would STRONGLY suggest that folks NOT do behind the neck presses. It places far too much strain on your shoulders. I tore my shoulder out of the socket doing this. It's never been the same. Just so military presses. Going behind the neck is bad news. You can hate all you like, but I've never been injured in years of bodybuilding, except for this exercise and my shoulder injury.
I agree with the guys that are saying not to pay attention to the negative comments on here. I cant believe anyone who would litterally be speaking badly about this guy. who cares about his preferred lifts, at least he's lifting and increasing his quality of life while all of us true dumbasses are sitting here writing about it. lol, keep up the good work and never back down, 63 and its definately not too late. Awesome, just awesome.
all the negative comments here are unbelievable.Hello!!! 63 years old dumbasses.Lets see you even motivated enough to get in the gym at that age.although i do agree any movement behind the head is not adviseable, still awesome for his age.Look further and you will see other vids of this man who looks damn good for 63 years young. Most people here with negativity are those who wish they could do 135 for one rep cheat, perfect or whatever.Great job sir.Keep it up
Yea, no offense but you are doing more harm then good. You would be better off putting of 35's and going toward the front nice and slow, emphasize the negative. Hey, I give ya credit.
I wouldn't reccomend do any lift 'behind the neck'. It's just a good way to put undue stress on the shoulders, upper back and neck. Good form almost requires anomolies in the joints to achieve. Keep the bar in front and you'll be doing those at 73.
yeah...thanks.. but that old man was obviously cheating, if he wants to show off to the world, then he has to make at least 1 good rep .. the rule is .. pause at your finish point and pause at start point. For shoulder press.. he must push all the way up, not just do it half way then dropping it down instead of bringing it down with a control motion ( if you don't pause ..then you would get the momentum from bouncing ) .. that's cheating ..period
you are a personal trainer probably at some health spa where u train fat women all day.....or new york sports club where u train old men and fat women all day....
no offense but you aren't even doing anything by going down 1/6th of the way regardless of your age...if you have weak joints don't do the lift..you were shaking a lot and struggling and could have injured yourself
In my gym there a dude and he is 83!! And he dose the real heavy weights. 0.o
