PS- Some of these comments on here, make me sick! Some of you negative people, need to stay in your house and never try anything new. Has to be the ones with parents that never gave their kids a chance to learn and explore the great things and dreams of living life to the fullest....Cheers
Great job dad! My daughter learned paragliding right along with me, and she is now flying (Big Air) and loves the sport, at 14 years of age. Kids have that natural ability to learn new things very quickly, and end up a pro before you know it...Cheers
Brilliant! The kid will grow up with a healthy respect for the elements and probably make a world-class paraglider pilot. Who knows, maybe he'll go on and make it a career. Have fun kid, and good job Dad!
@nolifemerc Are you serious? Jesus the world would be a truly miserable and soulless place if it was populated with people with your attitude. You might be Norwegian but you don't have any Viking spirit in you! kill Joy
Awesome, i wish my dad was this cool and taught me how to paraglide when i was 5 :D
If his dad an experienced paraglider according to uploader did not think it was safe im sure the kid would not be doing it. Kids these days are wrapped up in cotton wool here in the uk, there banned from things like paying football at lunchtime and even playing conkers due to H&S Bullcrap. Im all for this.
In this case it was a safe way of doing a small flight to a juvenile. there was a short string attached to the kid and the wing was adapted to him. He seemed to be enjoying the ride. keep it as safe as that please. I am sure he will continue to enjoy flying
I have seen a mother trying to make fly a 3 year old kid by himself towed by a 30 feet rope on a wing much too big for him .what a shame.
@explorateurdesairs WHILE YOU WATCHED.DID YOU TRY AND SUGGEST TO THE MOTHER THE WING IS TOO BIG? WHILE BEING TOWED BY A 30 FEET ROPE???IT WOULD BE A BIGGER SHAME IF YOU JUST WATCHED INSTEAD.WHAT A SHAME
I did this same exact thing with my daughter when she was five on the beach in Mexico...1991. She laughed just like the little kid in the video. Yes, totally safe, the air is horizontal on a gentle slope and we towed her up to 20' off the beach. The local kids stood in line for a ride and maybe the only time their feet ever leave the planet.
The father has been paragliding since he was about 10 and has never done anything but paraglide. The site is one of the most consistent in the country and they both live a stones throw from the spot where they are playing. The air is also very horizontal at the spot where they are playing and that glider doesn't really go up no matter how hard it's blowing. Basically, no chance...
they should at least give the little kid some sandwiches to take with him in case he gets blown away way up into the clouds. i feel so sorry for that little kid way up there with no lunch.
@OceanderTethyseus No father will have his kid in a dangerous situation, unless he has serious issues, he made sure that his son is safe, I am sure! Some of you guys are very quick to label someone, take it easy... he loves his son and he is making sure the kid getts it right so he would be a champ or a very good paraglider, just take it easy...
He looked teathered to the adult and with little wind there was little chance of him being pulled away from the teather.
Am I right?
ONce I saw a little woman with a little glider go out of control at the point of the mtn when a big heavy weight dude grabbed her by the foot and held on while the wind tried to pull her away. (the wind got crazy all the sudden and she shouldn't have been flying as a beginer.) It was a cool sight for him to reach up and grab on to her while she got it under ctrl.
Probably worth noting that this is not my kid. It's a young man named Adam and his dad Kevin. They are an awesome team and they have both been paragliding for their whole lives... My kid is still in diapers and he wants to do sports that involve more beaches and bikinis.
Hey Chris, we're still waiting for you to develop a speed glider that's meant for the coast or ridge soaring. You sell a few here in NorCal. Great work, man!
That is a Gin Gliders Nano, 10 M meant for flying down mountains with skis on. People do fly the Gin Gliders Nano without skis but they usually use a 14 M size. The 10 M size that he is using is meant for total experts OR, him....

@TONYPARAMOTOR : Sorry for the misunderstanding. I only saw this awful thing on another vdo on you tube,
Not all parents like you really take care of security while introducing their kids to paragliding .
He is probably still enjoying flying and surely improved by the time.
I believe teaching children to handle calculated risks is part of education.
They will be less prone to takink useless risks in the futre.
My daughter went to whitewater kayaking this way
Happy flying, Michel, explo

What if.... Suppose.... Think of the possibi..... What if the Wright-brothers were thinking like this?
TheNovaAxon 10 months ago
@OceanderTethyseus More likely, with a gust the glider would dive left/right, and with inexperienced pilot, the child would be sub-terainian.

About 5 million pounds in plastic surgery adn bone reduction to make you look 5 years again, and about 150$ for a midget paraglider
