  • @BlackShot0wnageHD

That's how I came to love the Harry Potter series too, but when the first movie came out, I was 10 and 1/2 months old. :P

  • i remember every time that music came on in a theatre, you knew the trailer was gonna be fuckin epic!!!

  • So, that started...10 years ago?

  • Can anyone tell me where i can find the first part of harry potter 1!!!! i want to watch the 1st part but i cant find it!!! HELP PLZ!

  • My mom likes Harry potter and so did I

  • i watched this with my speakers on blast.AWESOME. brings back sooo many memories

  • and now that magic has ended 😓

  • I remember seeing Harry Potter 1 as though it was just yesterday. My parents woke my sister and I up early in the morning that day, while it was still dark outside. There was a meteor shower going on in the sky at around 4am. It was amazing. That same day we all went out to see Harry Potter in theaters. I myself had never read the books, but after seeing the movie I bugged my parents to buy me the books. I am now 22, have every single HP book on my shelf, and saw every movie since that day.

  • @Sallyallie89 same here! the movies got me into the books. I had to read chamber of secrets first though. I was getting them from the school library and Philosipher's stone was checked out >.<

I don't own every book though. I'm missing philosipher's stone and Prisoner of Azkaban. But I've real all of them multiple times.

and I'm actually the same age too lol

  • @MrCheckersmcgee You should buy the ones you are missing off of ebay. I've seen some paperback versions for less than 10 dollars each, so that's not a bad deal. That way you can own them all =p

  • @Sallyallie89 can't shop online >.< gotta track them down the fun way lol

  • this tells everyone that happens in the movie

  • So nostalgic... :)

  • harry potter is so cool en knap

  • am i the only one crying? no? everyone else cried too? good.

  • <33333333333

  • When I was younger at around 7 And the first harry potter movie came out, I thought it was shit and useless. Just few days ago, i heard that the movie came to an end. The one day While i was watching TV, I tuned in to HBO and found harrypotter and the socerer's stone. Than I realised, I've missed such a great movie. Than one by one, I watched. Lastly, I bought the deathly hallows part 1 and 2, and watched the movie and at the end, tears rolled down my cheeks cos iknewthere won'tbe anymore ofthis

  • Congrats

  • 10 years ago on this very day, the first hp movie came out in theaters!!!!

Just several days ago, the last hp movie came out on DVD!!!!

This has been 10 years of my childhood and it was the best 10 years I've ever had :)

  • I thought since there is no top comment that I should fill the void...pineapple

  • Oh my goodness. I remember seeing these trailers on television when I was younger. Ah, memories. <3

  • I can't believe it.... No top comment.... THERE IS HOPE FOR YOUTUBE!!!!!!!!

  • Four people are Muggle-Born haterz...

  • I remember it so well when this trailer came out.

That was when our lives were going to change.

    I was only 7 years old :p

  • @Aufania ME TOO

  • I am so glad to be in the potter generation..XD

  • 11 year old Daniel Radcliffe is soooo cuttteee!!!!!!!!!!

  • Harry Potter is such a fake movie! I mean, a ginger with 2 friends... Common!

  • @Over18MyArse2 It's not our fault!! We would have been perfectly happy with the philosophers stone.

  • @Over18MyArse2 you a muggel?

  • @Over18MyArse2 shut up u fucking britidh!

  • Hagrid is such a sexy motherfucker.

  • Haha! Press 9 really fast! :D

  • @therunes100 Well said. Honestly. All the people that act like that Would most definitely be Slytherins. All the care about is Who's Who and where their from and who's better. It kind of Reminds me of "Bad blood" does it not?

  • Harry potter, you will always live in our hearts. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • Just saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II. Oh the memories this brings. Just watching them the way they are now and the way they were then is epic. A great way to truly end the series.

  • OMFG PRESS 6 REALLY FAST!!!

  • @Over18MyArse2 Its not philosopher's stone its sorcerce's of stone well it kinda doesn't relly matter but philosopher's stone is not a good name.

  • @xxxcxiichicxxx its a diffrent name it depends what contrey you live in

  • sorcerers, philosophers, whats the big deal? for whatever reason the american book is called sorcerers stone, its the same damn book! and you british, stop being so conceded just because rowling is from england, stop acting like youre all the harry potter gods

  • i still remember that line: i'm going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed, or worse...expelled.

that's why i started imitating the english accent i think HAHAHA

  • Boo, fucking, hoo Americans call it the Sorcerers stone. Get over it.

I was suprised to see thats what the two top comments were about.

Cant we just take a minute to remember being little and seeing this trailer? Cant we just take a minute to appreciate that this is what started it all?

Just shut your trap and take a minute to remember this is the beginging of an era

  • Wiggletick shut the Fuck up with your gay American words and your untrue stereotypes Americans are the axact thing you just said

  • @GreenBear19 NAGINA WASN'T THE SNAKE IN THE ZOO!!! READ THE BOOKS!!! Harry just talked to it with parsal Tongue!! IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH VOLDEMORT!!! ARE YOU STUPID!!!

  • @WiggleTick DONT TELL ME IM STUPID KID CUZ REALLY IM SMART ENOUGH TO LOOK UP THINGS UP AND EVEN J.K ROWLING SAID IT YOU IDIOT

  • NAGINA WASN'T THE SNAKE IN THE ZOO!!! READ THE BOOKS!!! it's just a Brazilian Snake Harry talked to with parsal tongue...Are you stupid!!!

  • @WiggleTick calm your farm, its Nagini, read the books.

  • @WiggleTick OMG WOW EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BUT IT WAS THIS RANDOM FACTS J.K ROWLING SAID STUPID

  • @MissZoeFelton Actually, if I remember correctly, Voldemort found Nagini somewhere in Albania, whereas the snake in the first book was in the London Zoo.

And even if I am wrong about Albania, why would J.K. Rowling make Nagini the boa constrictor without any indication of doing so? Other than the fact that they are both snakes, they have no connection whatsoever.

  • @StupidSecretaryPro UHHH I HAVE NO IDEA BUT WILL U JUST LIKE STOP MAKE REALLY ANNOYING EXCUSES SAYING OHH THATS NOT TRUE BLAH BLAH WHY WOULD JK ROWLING TO THAT BLAH BLAH BLAH

  • @WiggleTick OMG YOUR NOT THE AUTHOR ARE YOU OK THEY COULD HAVE JUST FOUND HER THERE I DONT KNOW GOSH

  • I want more filmssss:(

  • Nagini was not the snake in the zoo. Nagini is a type of viper while the snake in the zoo was a boa constrictor. Somebody hasn't read the Harry Potter Wiki.

  • @Yabbler I tell so many people this.

  • @MissZoeFelton GOSH CAN U SHUT UP THIS IS MY BUSINESS

  • @WiggleTick AND DONT CALL ME ANNOYING ASS HOLE CUZ I DONT KNOW IM NOT SURE BUT IF J.K ROWLING SAYS IT THEN I BELIEVE IT AND FYI I HAVE READ ALL THE BOOK

  • @Yabbler ITS NOT ON HARRY POTTER WIKI KID GOSH WHY WOULD IT BE THERE I HAVE READ IT

  • I just had to watch this after seeing Deathly hallows because i've never seen the trailer of this film before :| wow.. haha, im gonna miss it so bad :(

  • Comment removed

  • @GreenBear19 i thought that you know! :')

  • @YourBeautifulSoulx of course i do but im just telling people

  • Comment removed

  • @Yabbler ya it was even jk rowling said it was

  • @GreenBear19 The snake Harry released was a boa constrictor, and male. Nagini was a viper and female.

  • Comment removed

  • @GreenBear19 Really, now? And where exactly did she say that?

The fact that the boa constrictor is Nagini makes no sense. They have no connection, and there is no reason to believe that they are the same.

  • Comment removed

  • @GreenBear19 Just because you saw it with your own eyes does not make it true. For example, I can post that JKR said Snape and Dumbledore got married, but that does not make it true.

I found the "quote" JKR said about it. If you look at the source, you just get Rick Roll'd, so I doubt it's legit.

And there is no reason to get mad. I was not attacking you, just pointing out some flaws in your theory.

  • Comment removed

  • @GreenBear19 Well, it wasn't really so much of an opinion, more of a correction of facts. But okay, you can hate my nonexistent opinion, if you like.

  • Comment removed

  • @GreenBear19 I don't recall calling you an idiot. And you can believe what you want, just know that logic is not on your side.

  • @StupidSecretaryPro well like I said before I dont care what you think and who are you to go and tell me to not believe in things I dont care if there not true gosh ! I can believe in it if I want to

  • Comment removed

  • @GreenBear19 I apologize, I did not mean to be rude. I simply meant to correct your incorrect statement.

  • @StupidSecretaryPro well fine then I'm sorry for saying something that's not true and making everyone get mad at me for no darn reason

  • @ivan61750 LOL

  • To anyone who is annoyed that they changed the name in the American release, get over it! The legend of the philosopher's stone isn't all that popular here in the US, so a lot of people wouldn't get the reference, and would most likely pick up a book they thought involved a sorcerer before one involving a philosopher. Changing the name was all just part of 'translating' the book into AMERICAN English. Excuse us for wanting to properly understand what we're reading! Jeez! >:(

  • i know its been said loads, but its fucking PHILOSOPHER'S stone! fucks sake

  • PHILOSOPHERS STONE!!!

  • omg they look sooo widle

  • JK Rowling named this book 'The Philosophers Stone'. When People call it the 'Sorcerers Stone', which isnt even spelt correctly, it kills me a little bit inside.

  • IT ALL BEGAN ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel honored!!! :D It's sad though to see "The Magic Begins" and now you see "It all ends" *cries*

  • it annoys me so much thats the film is called sorcerer stone, no the first harry potter book is called Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone. Why do they need to change it for amercicans? Harry Potter is english.

  • To all my fellow Harry Potter fans,

  • Are Americans really that stupid, that they need to call it "sorcerer's" instead of philosopher's" ?!!?

  • @wilson0213 American's aren't 'stupid'. It was changed to Sorcerer's Stone because the American publisher's were afraid that children wouldn't want to read a book with 'Philosopher' on the cover, and thought that 'Sorcerer' would spark more interest. JK Rowling said that she regretted this decision because it made the plot lose its link to alchemy, but couldn't do anything about it at the time. It has nothing to do with the intelligence of the American people.

  • @AnimeFreakazoido "The American publisher's were afraid that children wouldn't want to read a book with 'Philosopher' on the cover". That right there is proof that they assumed American kids aren't intelligent enough to know what "Philosopher" is..

  • @wilson0213 Since American culture is rather different from UK culture, most children who first pick up the book may not relate the term 'philosopher' to be anything magic-related, such as alchemy. The original age range target was children ages 9-11, after all. So if kids that young don't make the connection between Philosopher and Magic, it doesn't mean we Americans are any less intelligent. If the original age target had been higher, they wouldn't have bothered changing it at all.

  • @AnimeFreakazoido So what you're implying is that American kids would probably found it easier first picking up the book if they could understand the title more, this means that they would have little knowledge on what "philsopher" means, hence why they wouldn't know it had anything to do with magic so they wouldn't bother reading it. However, British kids had no problem reading the books or watching the movie because they had the knowledge of what "philosopher" meant.

  • @wilson0213 I'm sorry of American teaching methods offend you, but the majority of American children ages 9 to 11 really only have a vague idea of what a philosopher even is. We spend those years of history class learning more about our own country rather than others, and America is not famous for its philosophers, unlike European countries. I myself now refer to the first book as Philosopher's Stone, but back when I started reading I admit that 'sorcerer' was a term I was more familiar with.

  • @AnimeFreakazoido Fair enough, i take back my comment saying that Americans are stupid for using that word, but i still think by someone "assuming" they wouldn't understand it is very degrading don't you think?

  • @wilson0213 They're businessmen. They simply did what they thought would make the book sell better in America. Personally, I think it was a fair move in terms of commercial success - an 8 year old would most likely be drawn to a book that said 'Sorcerer's Stone' instead of 'Philosopher's Stone'. But I also agree with Rowling in that it takes away the title's relation to Alchemy. I would probably have read the series either way, but perhaps later than I actually did. We're cool now, yes? XD

  • @AnimeFreakazoido We were always cool, just ha a lengthy discussion :P

  • haha ron 'that was bloody brilliant' and 'Ugh' :D

  • Press 9 to hear Ron's cute little Ewing sound

  • This series is bloody brilliant.

  • It isn't called the Sorccers Stone. It's called the Philosphers Stone. I don't know why the American's had to change it:(

  • @MadzCole12 I never understood that. why do they say sorccers stone in the movie then?

  • @Mitchigan14 I guess the word Philosophers was to big for them, or they didn't know what it meant!! So they actually changed the film.

  • @MadzCole12 I'm american man

  • @Mitchigan14 I mean kids!!

  • Actually, the publishers didn't think kids would read a book with philosopher's in the title,so they asked Rowling if she would change it for the america release.

  • @NeoConnor1 So in other words, the publishers decided Harry Potter needed to be "dumbed down" for the American audiences.... They also changed a bunch of the wording as well. I remember looking at a page of the American Philosopher's Stone versus the Canadian and the US version had tons of the words and slang changed. It was way weird.

  • @Mitchigan14 Because they recorded the scenes twice - once saying "sorcerer's" for the US version and once saying "philosopher's" for the rest of the world. Sewriously. I remember seeing something about this in an interview with the cast or a DVD special or something ages ago.

  • 0:18 I'LL FUCKIN BURST YE

  • I don't watch this movie series but from the trailers of the movies I've seen they look so much more realistic then this one! But this was 2001 they didn't have as good tecnology as they do today, but I think I'm going to start watching the movies then read the books

  • I hate the way Americans call the first Harry potter the sorcerers stone....its the Philosophers stone!

  • it's kinda nostalgic :-) :'(

  • Can you people shut up about the watch harry potter thing! Its on ever harrypotter video! Its driving me nuts

  • Wow. 10 whole years.

  • After seeing all of the movies, watching the preview for this one almost makes me cry.

  • its funny that since im only 11 I thought that the filming would be really junky "back then". But no, its the best movie Ive ever seen. :-)

  • Oh man, I almost cried!

  • @CookieSummers video?is that some kind of food?

  • sad i was just born as the movies were being made.... now im 14........... and its the last one

  • @Monday12121 ME 2 :(

  • @Monday12121 cause it started filming in 97

  • @Monday12121 How? The production and casting took place in 2000 therefore it could not have started filming in 1997. I remember them filming some of it at Durham Cathedral too in 2000. We went to try and see it because me and my family live in Sunderland which is practically next door to Durham City.

  • man o man they're all look and sound so young, event he special effects have changed alot. I remeber seeing the first movie back when i was finsihing PRIMARY school now im at Uni for gods sake. I remember i saw this before i read all the books and genuinly thought Snape was just the villain of the film. and Voldemort at the end scared the hell out of me

  • the magic begins november 16th 2001

  • omg best fantasy film of all time so sad its coming to an end

  • Hermonie- now im going to bed before either of you come up with another cleaver idea to get us both killed! Or worse expelled!

Ron: She needs to sort out her priorities.

HAHAHA! i love this line to much.

    <3 RON&HERMONIE

  • cant wait this to come out!

  • @ShorterStraws Because most of us are retarded and wouldn't be familair with the term.

  • download free movies at whoowa[dot]com

  • The first one was the best by a landslide. I mean the beginning, mixing in the towns and whatnot with the young kids just starting. It was just seamless. Then they all took steroids and shot up by 3 feet in part 2 and it kinda lost some of the magic and started showing the seams.

After the 3rd one it felt like the director just said fuck it, lets just use what we've got for scenes and throw in some flashy shit. The hell with detail or story.

  • its the philosophers stone!!! why did the americans change it!!!

  • Looks like Voldemort made 4 Youtube accounts

  • 1. this was updated on my birthday, 25th may.

    2. i CAN'T WAIT FOR JULY 15!.

    3. this was really nice to re-capituate the old stuff.

Thumbs up if you agree to any of the above.

  • It All Ends July 15th...

  • and the magic ends July 15th

  • I was 4 when this came out....hard to believe it has been 10 years and I am 14 now! This is the first and still best Harry Potter movie....actually they are all great!

  • I can't believe it's been that many years! I know all the words of this film haha

  • 10 year 2001 to 2011 : ( il miss it
