It's so long ago I can't remember but I don't think. There may have been a confidence lift of the throttle but it would have been the briefest of lifts if I did. I've not touched the game in well over a year now. I ought to have a play I guess but I'm camped on FM2012 and all of the Sonic's I got for 69p over Christmas.

Wow, that's impressive. I've not played it in 2 months but looking at the current leaderboard there are 70,663 players and if I'm in second place still (somehow) and Tktee is leading with 28.76 that must put you....hell, I don't know, it's late and it's nearly 20 years since I last went to school. Time for sleep I think.

You're absolutely right. There is no skill in rubbing against the wall but if there are no consequences to doing so then Firemint have therefore deemed it to be acceptable. As such if you wish to gain a leading time you must do what is acceptable within the game. The skill, if you would call it that, does not come from grazing against the wall but maintaining momentum and direction to optimise speed and time. That said, I wouldn't consider a game to be worthy of being skillful.

i was just upset by the firemints decision of not fixing this from neither of 1.01,02 patches because i was one of the first one on Firemints getsatisfaction page to bring up this issue and they went all serious and told me they will fix it. but they did not. instead, the method spread and ones who didnt know start being pushed back on Global ranking, while some unskilled noob making insane time with zero skill. it is really big deal in my mind

Well, it shouldn't be a big deal. It's only a game and doesn't mean as much or is as fun as racing in real life...and hell I'd be a rich man if I got a pound for everytime someone has rubbed a wall, a tyre or me! And it's unlikely to be a "noob" (I really detest that term) as simply driving around the wall will not get a good time. As I said before it's not the fastest route to go around the outside. It's the finesse of taking the line of least resistance which is the challenge.

I wouldn't get hung up on it too much. Game developers do listen to what people say about their games but it's not always straightforward to alter code. They'll tweek what they can but generally they'll focus on known bugs and compatibility issues first. While this is a flaw, it's not a bug, so won't be priority.

Hey great vid it seems that I'm stuck at low 32 can you tell me the configuration that you used to beak into 31's. I have anti skid off, break assist 10 and steering assist on. Is that the best way to do it?

I don't use any driver aids and i use the bonnet camera as my view point. I don't know what if any difference having any of the assists on will have on your time, but I would have thought maybe that the braking assist would automatically reduce your speed as the turns approach. When I set that time it was flat out and no lifts of the throttle, it was a matter of trying over and over again until I found the right line that could hold the turn with the least amount of speed loss.

Incidentally, I'm no longer the quickest time on there as someone has knocked me down to 2nd. I have absolutely no idea how they set that time though as everyone behind me is within 1000ths of seconds and the top time is two and half seconds quicker. There's no point even trying to beat that. I'd certainly enjoy watching that replay!

@ToughMonkey69 so you didn't break at all huh? Seems almost impossible to complete the track without breaking but i will keep trying. I also noticed that you hugged the wall at the last turn how does that work out for you. And yeah 28 sec look so out of place among the 31's a possible game play glitch or a hack? thanks for your replys im gonna try that out now.

No braking, but possibly a very minor lift into turn three. It took many attempts to get the right line as too much lock and the car slides. As soon as that happens you may as well restart. Rubbing the wall doesn't lose you a great deal of speed, if any, but obviously it's a longer radius around the outside of the corner. The trick is to cut as much of the corner as possible (by that I mean the "racing line") and let it drift out to the wall at the sharpest angle before crashing.
