  • i love that there is OVERLY Much vibrato! <3

  • super sweet, you nailed it! Keep singing!!

  • too fast and a little too low, but really really good anyway^^

  • Great song =) And you sing it very great! :-D

  • you look awkward

  • @ gonebad42 uh hello she's not supposed to be acting just singing the sog duh !

  • well i don't like your acting at all in this

  • @gonebaad24 Then don't watch it. :)

  • @MrsEugeneRyder Sorry its just the truth. the acting is BAD.

  • Woo!! I love this version! :D

I just checked out another ('professional') version of the song, just as a one song performance, but I must admit I like this one much more.

I think the voice here is fitting very well! : )

    Good job!

  • beautiful rendition!

  • Good job! It was neat to hear the song without a heavy vibrato. However, there's a couple of things that are distracting from the beauty of the song and your voice.

The piano is muddy and louder than your voice. (Projecting more would also help)

You're moving around a lot, and it doesn't look like you're singing AT anything. Perhaps imagine little songbirds at the back of the room, right above the heads of the audience, so you can make people feel your passion to sing like a songbird.

  • wow it just seamed effortless!!! good job!!

  • this is wonderful! amazing woman.

  • remember beath support!!!

  • This is the best 'cover' of the song I've seen so far. Good job.

  • she's got great high notes nice and clear. I am getting ready to perform and I looked through all of them...my favorite was the "green finch and linnet bird gabrielle" one..overall real good

  • incredible voice

  • the audio suks bt its amazing

  • hm ich finde es fast ein bisschen zu schnell...

  • Wow, this is probably the best version I've ever heard, what a lovely voice.. So warm and pure.. 5/5

  • What a great voice, I love this rendition :)

  • Brilliant, but it looked a bit akward :P

  • this feels unnatural.

except her transition from the trill to the last verse, that's stunningly graceful.

  • love it

  • love ii

  • woa... I love it!!!

  • keep your movements more deliberate. you keep moving your hands and stuff, which looks...sloppy, i guess. make sure each movement has a distinct purpose. vocally, you're good though. i posted a cover of this song too. do you think you could give me some pointers?

  • good!!^^

it could be a bit more slower.

so then u can sing more expressively~^^

  • its not how is it you sing the second time its teach me how to sing

  • no it says "how is it you sing" the first two times and then the third time it's "teach me how to sing." :)

  • actually I just realised she says "how is it you sing" the third time too. Sorry

  • very nice =]

  • she has a wonderful voice.

  • Amazing Voice! :]

  • ur GREAT

  • Very good. ^^

  • wow. that was awesome!!

  • She has a future

  • i absolutely LOVED your voice! so pretty! you kick the movie's ass at singing this song =]

  • Wow!

    Amazing, simply amazing.

  • wow you took my breath away.

    good job

  • Oh wow! Your vibrato is much more bearable than the movie version! (Don't get me wrong the song is still beautiful but the vibrato in the movie I felt got to my ears just that little tiny bit.)

  • I love it

  • Wonderful~

  • Way to sing this song without a heavy vibrato! good job.

  • i'm very envious ,

i wish i could sing half as good as her.

  • awesome!

  • Wow, you have a great video here. A little bit physically awkward, but the voice is perfect for the part. I loved the way the "stars" was separated from the rest of the song. Wonderful job!

  • I think you're voice is one of the best on youtube...most videos of people singing this song are really good but they sound really mature which doesn't fit the song. She is suppossed to be young...I think you sound young but still mature in a way. A few notes were a tiny bit off but it was really good.

  • EXACTLY

  • Pretty good!

  • Some tempo issues, but I think the lightness of your voice here really fits the song.

  • YAY ur amazing

  • great <3

  • best I've heard!!

  • Wow, awesome voice!! *-*

  • AWSOME very good

  • hey :) im auditioning for mrs lovett in a couple of weeks but i was considering this part too ! i think youre really amazing! do you have any tips on singing! sorry i just wanna be able to do my best! x

  • very good :)

  • wow you have a beautiful voice

    XD

  • beautiful voice!!!

  • Sing songbird, sing! XxSarah

  • wow. very good

  • Lovely voice, my dear.

  • amazing voice!

  • pretty song for you

  • ur good :) wayyy better than me anyway. lol

  • wow i love the movie n i think she is betta than the lass they casted yes u dont havethe look but the voise is a lot lot better

  • listen girl I think you look very classy and attractive. And I love red heads, it looks like you just might be one ;p

  • i bet falloftroy cant even sing this good

  • i think you look good! i mean not in a lesbian way but ur dressed good and you sang this song amazingly! who ever falloftroy is is a jerk... no affence man but get some manners.

  • oh, and falloftroy, i seriously think that you need get a little comman sence!! she sand fine. if you didnt like her singing, tell her, but there was no need for the "you look like a dumbass little dip shit" and it sounded more like a talent show to me, cuz she walked onstage, sand, smiled, then walked away. there was no Antony, no Tupin, no nothing. So dont judge some1 before u decide 2 use ur head.;={

  • absolutely beautiful

  • i think it was very good, and just like someone said, it was very close to the movie, with innocence and beauty throughout every note. But there were some parts where on the high notes, your voice squeaked a bit. Next time though, just try to ease up on the high notes a little, but truly amazing singing.

  • Nice job, but your mouth was not in the right shape for this kind of song. Try working on keeping your mouth open more so that pretty voice can better project and be heard. <3

  • She's really really good.

  • :)

this is the closest as anyone has got to from the sweeney todd MOVIE. best so far. not a good voice for opera but this isnt opera XD

  • you really have to sing it in an opera voice b/c it's writting SO HIGH! so and I do agree with you she does sound alot like the movie!

  • aw she has such a sweet voice!

  • why are there kids laughing in bakk? this is freakin good.

  • INCREDIBLE! my high school is doing sweeney todd next year, and while ill probably be chorus if i make it, i hope our joanna sounds just like you

  • heyyy!! we share a last name :-)

    beautiful voice

  • This song is so hard and you sing it beautifully! You make it seem so easy! :D Good job! :D

  • pitchy.... and sharp... you are overextending the highs - pushing too hard... besides that it was good...

  • you have a great voice

  • vowls....thats all I have to say. mane your mouth more of an 'O'.

  • You handled the breathing for the song really well. All I can say is that you need to open your mouth up a bit more. Sometimes it looks like you're trying to keep your mouth closed, like you're holding back the sound. Open up and let it out. If your voice breaks a bit when you do, then it's just something you need to work on.

Your voice really is beautiful, though. I'm envious.

  • gorgeous!!!!! :) you have an amazing voice. ignore anyone who tells u otherwise. but try not to fiddle around with ur hands. it makes you look a bit nervous.

  • Very Nicely sung.

  • Great song! Like many others have said, it's very difficult, and you pulled it off! Awesome song!

  • I think you did good, but I wish you had sung it just a tad bit slower at some parts other than that for such a hard song you did an amazing job.

  • I think you did really well!

    You did look nervous, but I get shaky when i sing too. ^^;

I'm gonna do this for my choir's end of the year concert so I'll probably be just as nervous. xD If you were ever to do this again I'd say practice smooth transitioning to the high notes and add in some acting! =]

Keep singing! Your voice is lovely!

  • For a difficult song, you pulled it off.

  • jw, what makes it so difficult?

  • i'm singing this song now, and it's tough because a lot of those notes are pretty high and are big jumps from the notes preceding them

additionally because of the tempo and rest placement, there isn't much time to breath while singing it, so the song must be handled very strategically.

  • I'm singing it for our end of the year concert. It's pretty long actually. Seven pages..... @-@

Ah well. It'll be fun! =]

  • i'm singing it too!

    i like it a lot!

  • yup exactly :)

  • all the frickin high notes

  • You was really good there is no need to be nervous. I hope I sing mine well when i do it!

    wish me luck

  • wonderful! ;D

  • beautifull voice!

  • terrific job!!

  • wow great voice, you shouldn't have a reason to look so nervous

  • :) i like it!!!

  • She looks nervous ^^

  • i thought that was beautiful

  • What were you doing with your hands? lol! I really thought you sounded good. I can't believe people keep bashing the movie version though, IT WASN'T THAT BAD!! But you were great! Keep singing.

  • ....you said, "how is it that you sing" three times.

    or however.

but the last time is supposed to be "teach me how to sing"

    i - d - k

    just thought i'd say something...

  • amazing

  • Wow, AWESOME

  • AMAZING!!!

  • Beautiful job! I agree with MadHatterMCR and a few others about opening your mouth and all I can say is to sing it at a tempo that you would speak it. You'll be able to wrap your mouth around the words more and it'll feel much better. Brava!

  • The high notes started out flat but you (is this you singing?) brought it up and sound wonderful!

I second what that person said about opening your mouth wider.

"If you're face looks pretty, you're not singing correctly" is what my teacher told me.

  • something about this version is a bit too fast

  • woot! loved it :]

  • I wish I could sing like that

  • Open your mouth wider; makes a huge difference. But it was very good :)

  • lovely! :)

  • singing was great..actons and facial expressions=uh oh

  • Your voice sounds very good - nice tone, and the song fits your voice very well. I would be careful to pay attention to some of the notes; you are a little off of the notes at points.

  • this is amazing!! I hope to be as good as you one day =]

  • the term pitchy is some bull crap term developed by american idol... real singers arent pitchy... you either have the note or you dont.

  • Gorgeous

This song is so good, but really difficult to sing :) Well done!

  • i got tingles it was so good!! Possibly the best rendition of this song i've heard. really good job.

  • I like you better than the professionals.

  • Nice voice. It's pitchey at points. Open your mouth and more of your pretty sound will come out. I feel like i'm only hearing half of it.

  • She's keeping her mouth semi-closed for resonance. If she opens it too much and she isn't trained to much it can screw up her placement.

  • But if she had opened up wider I don't believe her notes would have been as flat.

But she sounded terrific! I mean, really. I liked her better than that chick who did the film version. This Emily has a much stronger voice.

  • Fantastic. Sounds great!

  • ahh emily zickler your so talented

    btw its ocean from stagedoor

you were amazing in 42nd street

  • You're the only one on Youtube who sings this song well. Congrats. I gave 4 stars--the lack of a 5 is just because the quality of the video could be better.

  • You sound gorgeous. I really appreciate your change dynamics during some of the longer notes.
