@mangaman420 pretty sure they've been called raves and rolls since the 80's dude, IDK when you were partying in FL before that; the term rave actually started in the 50's for all night rockin', raging and raving parties and I know at least Kyper to have referred to an e dose as a roll in like 1988 at the latest
I was wanting to try somthing, since i cant seem to project. i have been interested for 23 years since i came close to projecting twice in my life without success. if there are any of you out there that can do it i was wondering if you could come to me in the right phase of my sleep and take me on a journey with you. come as god or a helping angel. i am serious about this. kingofkenyi013@yahoo.com if you need to know any more information and want to try this with me. i hope to see you soon.
RABBIT was in ORLANDO, 98 LIVE STILL ABLE TO CATCH ON YOUTUBE... THEN THE RAVE TOOK OVER SOUTH FLORIDA, RAVES EVERYWHERE, MIKE MOLLY , CLUB NEXTED, CHICAGO TRIED, LOST .. LOL THEN MONKETYCLUB AND NESSA DORMMA, RULED BY MOBSTERS OK, I MAY KNOW THEM.. OK .. THEN MIKE PASTED
I first heard this song on Urbal Beats as well circa 1998, although this song was realeased in 93'. After almost 20 years it still moves people. A great classic in my books, next to other same 90's era electronic music like Sasha-Xpander, Digweed-bed rock, Binary Finary-99. All master pieces in their own right. Like Whalesex says on the video comments, brings back so many memories of some of the best good times in my life period!!! Cheers!!!!
Dunno if anyone here is old enough to ever have had the pleasure of catching RITM live, but that's how "Live PA" was done. I know I hear all the time from people seeing the latest and greatest DJ/Producers nowadays and how it was a spiritual experience, but Im telling you, nothing has ever compared IMO. Oh and btw they were just a headliner, there were still a day or two left of more electronica gods. btw.. I found my boxes of old flyers and tapes yesterday!
I know bunny from rabbit in the moon, and he's still going to raves mainly the Electric Daisy Carnival. you know its him bc hes 40 something with bleach blonde dreads :]
This almost brings sadness for me. I wish I could have stayed in some of the moments of the scene forever. But unfortunately, we all grew older and moved on. The memories of those raves and those friends will remain in this song forever.
I know, me too :) It was an era that will never occur again. I consider myself lucky. It does bring a since of sadness, nothing will ever hold a candle to that scene for me. Forever in my memory as well as all our friends memories.
thank you so much for posting this, it brings back such intense memories. this is one of the greatest electronic songs ever created. it gives me such intense goosebumps and euphoria throughout the whole song. truly a masterpiece.
This is one of those tunes that just makes you feel so good.First heard this on Northern Exposure with sasha and john Digweed.that album is still the best DJ mix ever.
I need to throw this on my iPod. I get older and older and forget about the shit that revolutionized electronica and sent chills down your spine to your subconscious. Whether you blew up to this or partied sober, this was an epic track and an epic time in history
This is real music! This is the song that first had me spinning over 13 years ago and inspired me to produce! Monk, Confucius, and Bunny are the ultimate stuff that makes music! Seen them, heard them, and they're awesome!
The firs time I heard this was at the Hardkiss Record Release party for their LP, Delusions of Grandeur. Rabbit in the Moon was there to perform it, live. It was fucking great. That reality was so much better than this.
@olivemantis I like this observation or description "plex" i.e. not so much like an album or even an EP... it's divided into "spaces" - the "Phases"... and yeah... like and unlike enough other things in general to be confusing as hell to wrap your head around, but I like this "plex" concept, and for sure a hybrid thing... for sure...
@plumbshew Yes, I mean I'm pretty sure I do... I had the vinyl version if we're talking about the same... Had an AK-1200, Chris Fortier 'fade' cuts on it... Icey, Dynamix, F&S... a fairly good mix of treasure and trash from what i recall... but i was oriented a certain way then, so who am i to judge now, from a way bad case of CRS??? IDK... :-) Flooooooorida, I do remember... and ahead of the full EP I think... ??? oh... well... That one??? :-)
Damn amazing, beatiful In it's own, and I've hear'd it mixed 1000 times, but it is perfect to fade out of Scott Hardkiss' "Raincry" on Sasha and Digweed's Northern Exposure....beatiful....
First time I head this song I was on the Kuwait side of the Iraq border in 97' ... pulling guard duty with chemlights (aka. glowsticks) ... PRICELESS!!! God those were the days! Thank you for putting this on here! I have the original CD at home but I am not home so this is greatly appreciated!
I have this... It came out on 12" in '94... This is "Phase 7 - Original", and obviously became the most popular. On Youtube, you can find all of the "Phases" on ThB303's channel... This one is listed like this: "Rabbit In The Moon - O.O.B.E. Phase 7 - Original"... The others have funky names, like: "Phase 1 - First Contact", "Phase 3 - Burning Spear", "Phase 5 - Enlightenment", the original already mentioned and featured in this vid... also, "Phase 9 - Lunar Eclipse"... and that's it...
@rainmaker6920 THANX A TON for That Information, I was trying to Just figure Out what this Version was....nd Do you possibly know what the SHORT Version Of RITM'S Deeper Is Called???
@ZEHINDULA Sure thing... I would say that a bit of the esoteric nature of Monk's naming conventions is at least partially what makes the OOBE/Phases a bit obscure and special... but in ways, sometimes I feel like it was more like the "Good Idea Fairy" and too much Dank... ;-) About "Deeper"... I assume you mean the 5:05 min. track from the "Decades" album... ?? I'd call that "Deeper"... :-) "The other" is something one might hear 'about', but never hear... Dig? Again - special - obscure.
@TR33T0P03 agreed... good bed music for itself... no tricks... pure magic... This, a handfull of originals and damn near every remix - magic unto themselves... the trick, if any (i'm guessing) being the combination of a brilliant mind for it, and the dankiest dank.. and some "OTHER" connection of sorts... at least that's the feel I get from it.. Method??? Who cares... Do it again!!! :-)
I first heard this song on Urbal Beats when I was 14 and I remember it being the absolute best thing ever. Now that I am listening to it 13 years later, it is still the absolute best thing ever. This song alone got me into the rave scene and even Tori Amos a little bit. I eventually saw Rabbit in the Moon at Red Rocks and it was amazing. Thanks for posting this, it brings back so many good memories.
@whalesex hell yeah! i first heard this on urbal beats as well when *i* was 14! :D gotta love tori and rabbit in the moon. does anyone know what the dialogue sample is from? i didn't hear it in 'precious things.' :\
@charlietow 14 compared to 17? grade 9 compared to grade 12? ya big fuckin differnce u stupid fuck. who the fuck asked for ur opinion. shut ur fuckin mouth u pussy
@inlovewithraves wow dude you really attacked me on that one. you sure are using a pretty extensive vocabulary to put me down. i wouldn't want to get into a debate with you. go talk shit to someone you might be able to insult, cause it's not gonna happen here. youtube is about sharing videos and opinions, not being an asshole, you are being an asshole that does nothing but talk shit... get a life you stupid cumquat
@charlietow your holding up a great argument, bravo. its pretty easy to call someone "stupid", stupid. isn't it. other than the fact u pointed out im a kumquat, (with incorrect spelling might i add) you also managed to call me dumb. u my friend are most defiantly the smarter one of the two of us. if thats what uve narrowed thus down to
@inlovewithraves this misspelling was intentional you douche... and i like how you're trying to use sarcasm now too. but in your sarcasm there is truth... i am the smarter one no doubt
@inlovewithraves I'm not even sure who you are and what compelled you to come to this video. I decided to look at your channel and it looks like all you do is find videos on youtube you don't like and talk trash about them. No, I wasn't on drugs at age 14, and yes, you're still a pile of shit.
@whalesex u creeper. stay off my channel. what compelled me to come to this video was that dumb ass mofo said that this song was good. i had to hear this "good" song for myself and i am not impressed, at all. then to see you make such a bold statement about such a bad song, well, i just couldn't take it, it was too much. if you feel offended in any way, FUCK YOURSELF!
@whalesex Man this song blows what aspects of this song make it any good? The fact that all this song is a boring drum beat with some delay accompanied by a crappy pad that go on for more than half of the song... Ya that's so awesome! You know why you won't ever hear this in a mix or a club because it flat outs sucks balls and it would put everyone to sleep. how cracked out you have to be to like this garbage?
@DJBareERaws I guess the 88,000 people who came to watch this video are all retarded. This song was made nearly 15 years ago. Moreover, the production work on the song is fantastic and wasn't slapped together in fruity loops like the garbage guido house that you have put together. Oh and I guess Sasha and Digweed are horrible djs for putting this in their very famous Northern Exposure mix years ago. Know your history and keep your mouth shut.
@whalesex That doesn't necessarily make them retarded.... when searching for music on youtube your bound to click on some pretty crummy songs whether you like it or not. I understand that the music i made isn't the greatest but you gotta start somewhere. I don't use Fruity Loops or garage band but good guess you can select from a few more random digital audio work stations, your bound to guess the right one eventually :). And why would Sasha and Digweed be horrible for playing a crappy song wtf?
@DJBareERaws you just don't get it bro, this track was played plenty bout 18 yrs ago or something. And if you ever seen Rabbit in concert you would never be disappointed. One of best visual and entertaining shows ever. At three or four in the morning and out of your head, this track put the floor in a frenzy. And it does say something that sasha and Dig put this on northern exposure. You missed the scene bro, sorry.
@oxypimp Hahaha ya I'd like to see people jumping in a frenzy to this... This song is BORING as hell I'm glad I missed part of the scene. I think you misused the word frenzy because in my mind that means people jumping around, but this song is so boring i bet not a single foot would leave the ground... And yes i get it... i get that you are some dirty hippee that goes for the light show really high and the actual music being played doesn't matter at all... glad we now have good techno these days
@DJBareERaws hardly a dirty hippie; u haven't a clue to what you are talking about. And yes this is not a stomper you might be thinking of as a frenzy..but in a time of pure mdma and trance music at it's best this track rocks. All the crap you spew is your opinion and good for you. You have absolutely no clue as to the oldskool scene or feeling. There is nothing you can say to make me or million others think differently. This track isn't the best, but it is a classic. & u have never seen RITM
@oxypimp1 thats what the fuck im talkin about.scared to death i was onna break my god damn teeth to this song.i know 1 thing dont ever try to buy beer from a refrigerator...
@DJBareERaws i just noticed you are some 19 yr old kid. Don't bother me kid and get bent. You are clueless and you know it. You are going to offend the great sasha and digweed and you no nothing. beat it kid.
@oxypimp1 Stop saying I'm clueless... You sound like a broken record... I'm 19 what's your point? I'm not some 30 or 40 year old who does drugs like you congratulations bud! And when did I say anything bad about Sasha and Digweed? I said them playin this song made them "NOT" horrible DJ's, try learning how to read before you say something back to me ok? Perhaps you should put down the needles and crack, go back to grade 7 or whatever you dropped from and learn to read, and learn new phrases.
@DJBareERaws Good old techno? You mean the Bassnectar-influenced, Skrillex, Guetta, LMAFO, completely ubiquitous shit that is considered real EDM now? Holy shit, you are laughable at best, a functioning retard at worst. The dreck on today does not even come close to touching techno - go do some listening to sounds out of Detroit & Chicago, listen to some acid house from England. Listen to Carl Craig, Carl Cox, Knuckles, shit that launched some of the best producers & DJs ever. I was one.
@calodo2002 Detroit is the shit for techno, nowhere else comes close, every time I go out I'm reminded of this fact. Seriously though, Guetta's Tomorrow Can Wait is a kick ass tune ;)
@fleedermouse The only thing that saves that song is the vocals, else it is just another version of the same blather that is occupying the EDM scene. I used to shudder back in the early 90s b/c Prodigy was becoming the face of EDM, but I tremble now seeing this garbage taking over the decks, err...the computer screens that allow the 'DJs' to basically cheat & let the computer mix the beats for them.
Basically this version of EDM is shit, horrible, horrible shit.
@calodo2002 Can you enlighten us then as to what good music is then, since you seem to be an expert. Interesting how personal preference has no place in "your" world.
Around 1:20 I heard tori amos's piano from precious things in the track, and I thought man I am hearing tori amos in everything lately and then 3:12 I heard the 'scream' and I sat up and knew 100% tori amos' music was mixed into this and then I loved the song :).
This song really gets me deep down in the soul. Why can't more Techno songs be like this one. The sound is not that good on this post but i will listen anyway and love it.
I agree with vanilla. I am 32 and this brings backs so much feeling. This what I went to see the first time I ever went to a club...firestone and the first time I was in that great state of mind. Will never forget it!!
I remember the 1st time I bought one of their albums,it had a DVD in it..so I decided to eat a shitload of shrooms and mdma....best night ever...Rabbit in the moon is fucking awesome
masters at work, people always applaud the djs to much and dont give the producers the credit for making exceptional works of art like this, still northern exposure sasha and digweed is a work of art as well, best set ive heard ever period, this track kicks arse in that set
the baddest ass rave scene was right the fuck here in florida. ...winter park...orlando....tampa....st petersburg...remember the ZEN festival?
yea....the funny thing about it was this....i didnt even want or know antything about all this crap.....will you meet me? and well fly away? the best times of my life....yea.....
@DeliverLikeUPSTrucks Man what memories!! O-Town Had it going on!! I am a little older and went to Ahhz before it closed as well as the Edge, and Cyberzone.. We were lucky to be in that time and place!

ZEHINDULA 1 year ago

@inlovewithraves wow dude you really attacked me on that one. you sure are using a pretty extensive vocabulary to put me down. i wouldn't want to get into a debate with you. go talk shit to someone you might be able to insult, cause it's not gonna happen here. youtube is about sharing videos and opinions, not being an asshole, you are being an asshole that does nothing but talk shit... get a life you stupid cumquat
charlietow 6 months ago
@charlietow
kumquat - an orangelike fruit related to the citruses, with an edible sweet rind and acid pulp. It is eaten raw or used in preserves.
????? wtf..... u potty mouth! how dare you
inlovewithraves 6 months ago
@inlovewithraves wow, someon with your intelligence level was able to use google search to do research... i'm impressed.
charlietow 6 months ago
@charlietow your holding up a great argument, bravo. its pretty easy to call someone "stupid", stupid. isn't it. other than the fact u pointed out im a kumquat, (with incorrect spelling might i add) you also managed to call me dumb. u my friend are most defiantly the smarter one of the two of us. if thats what uve narrowed thus down to
inlovewithraves 6 months ago
@inlovewithraves this misspelling was intentional you douche... and i like how you're trying to use sarcasm now too. but in your sarcasm there is truth... i am the smarter one no doubt

@inlovewithraves I'm not even sure who you are and what compelled you to come to this video. I decided to look at your channel and it looks like all you do is find videos on youtube you don't like and talk trash about them. No, I wasn't on drugs at age 14, and yes, you're still a pile of shit.
whalesex 6 months ago
@whalesex u creeper. stay off my channel. what compelled me to come to this video was that dumb ass mofo said that this song was good. i had to hear this "good" song for myself and i am not impressed, at all. then to see you make such a bold statement about such a bad song, well, i just couldn't take it, it was too much. if you feel offended in any way, FUCK YOURSELF!
inlovewithraves 6 months ago
@whalesex Man this song blows what aspects of this song make it any good? The fact that all this song is a boring drum beat with some delay accompanied by a crappy pad that go on for more than half of the song... Ya that's so awesome! You know why you won't ever hear this in a mix or a club because it flat outs sucks balls and it would put everyone to sleep. how cracked out you have to be to like this garbage?
DJBareERaws 6 months ago
@DJBareERaws I guess the 88,000 people who came to watch this video are all retarded. This song was made nearly 15 years ago. Moreover, the production work on the song is fantastic and wasn't slapped together in fruity loops like the garbage guido house that you have put together. Oh and I guess Sasha and Digweed are horrible djs for putting this in their very famous Northern Exposure mix years ago. Know your history and keep your mouth shut.
whalesex 6 months ago 2
@whalesex That doesn't necessarily make them retarded.... when searching for music on youtube your bound to click on some pretty crummy songs whether you like it or not. I understand that the music i made isn't the greatest but you gotta start somewhere. I don't use Fruity Loops or garage band but good guess you can select from a few more random digital audio work stations, your bound to guess the right one eventually :). And why would Sasha and Digweed be horrible for playing a crappy song wtf?
DJBareERaws 6 months ago
@DJBareERaws you just don't get it bro, this track was played plenty bout 18 yrs ago or something. And if you ever seen Rabbit in concert you would never be disappointed. One of best visual and entertaining shows ever. At three or four in the morning and out of your head, this track put the floor in a frenzy. And it does say something that sasha and Dig put this on northern exposure. You missed the scene bro, sorry.
oxypimp1 6 months ago
@oxypimp Hahaha ya I'd like to see people jumping in a frenzy to this... This song is BORING as hell I'm glad I missed part of the scene. I think you misused the word frenzy because in my mind that means people jumping around, but this song is so boring i bet not a single foot would leave the ground... And yes i get it... i get that you are some dirty hippee that goes for the light show really high and the actual music being played doesn't matter at all... glad we now have good techno these days
DJBareERaws 6 months ago
@DJBareERaws hardly a dirty hippie; u haven't a clue to what you are talking about. And yes this is not a stomper you might be thinking of as a frenzy..but in a time of pure mdma and trance music at it's best this track rocks. All the crap you spew is your opinion and good for you. You have absolutely no clue as to the oldskool scene or feeling. There is nothing you can say to make me or million others think differently. This track isn't the best, but it is a classic. & u have never seen RITM

@DJBareERaws i just noticed you are some 19 yr old kid. Don't bother me kid and get bent. You are clueless and you know it. You are going to offend the great sasha and digweed and you no nothing. beat it kid.
oxypimp1 6 months ago

I was one.
calodo2002 2 months ago 2
@calodo2002 Detroit is the shit for techno, nowhere else comes close, every time I go out I'm reminded of this fact. Seriously though, Guetta's Tomorrow Can Wait is a kick ass tune ;)
fleedermouse 1 month ago
@fleedermouse The only thing that saves that song is the vocals, else it is just another version of the same blather that is occupying the EDM scene. I used to shudder back in the early 90s b/c Prodigy was becoming the face of EDM, but I tremble now seeing this garbage taking over the decks, err...the computer screens that allow the 'DJs' to basically cheat & let the computer mix the beats for them.
Basically this version of EDM is shit, horrible, horrible shit.
calodo2002 1 month ago
@calodo2002 Can you enlighten us then as to what good music is then, since you seem to be an expert. Interesting how personal preference has no place in "your" world.
