Why is our federal government in favor of a spread out nation? A closer in distance nation is more affordable for infrastructure and better for the environment. It would be so much cheaper on car and jet fuel if all 22 million Australians were located in the East and South-East of Australia connected with an electrified high speed rail network (like the one's in Europe) and a continuous 4 to 6 lane interstate highway. (Extra additional lanes for busier places)
Everyone should have just settled in the East and South-East. Our national border should have started on the East Coast a little to the north of Bundaberg, QLD and go in a perfectly straight South-West direction all the way down to the South Coast a little west of Mount Gambier, SA. Our nation should have comprised of all the land to the East of the border and Tasmania. Everything else should have been left as a territory like the Northern Territory and ruled by the Commonwealth government.
It was very thoughtless how in the early days of settlement people settled all over the continent. Perth is a 4 and a half hour flight, or nearly a 2 days drive from Canberra.
After Adelaide it is practically nothing till you hit Perth. What about Darwin? 200,000 people in the middle of nowhere. Settlers were just thoughtless gold diggers who obviously didn't have unity in mind. Before federation, the colonies should have brought everyone closer to live within a more manageable distance.

Why is our federal government in favor of a spread out nation? A closer in distance nation is more affordable for infrastructure and better for the environment. It would be so much cheaper on car and jet fuel if all 22 million Australians were located in the East and South-East of Australia connected with an electrified high speed rail network (like the one's in Europe) and a continuous 4 to 6 lane interstate highway. It was very thoughtless how in the early days of settlement people settled all over the continent. Perth is a 4 and a half hour flight, or nearly a 2 days drive from Canberra.
After Adelaide it is practically nothing till you hit Perth. What about Darwin? 200,000 people in the middle of nowhere. Settlers were just thoughtless gold diggers who obviously didn't have unity in mind. Before federation, the colonies should have brought everyone closer to live within a more manageable distance.

@bobri289 You Aussies are evil, raping, racist, murderous scum who hate Americans and Asians. I am a Filipino living in NZ and just like NZ, Aussies come from dangerous and unwanted criminals from UK.
I am sure that the majority of Aussies are bad people who hate us Filipinos and Americans.
It disgusts me that many American and Filipina women are married to Aussie men and it worries me that all Aussie men do is beat and rape they're American wives.

@jamesbluntirules I'm sure I know what I'm saying. Many Aussies I heared hate US and talk really bad about US yet many Aussie men marry US women. Thats just sickening. I can only imagine what the Aussie man does to abuse and hurt they're poor US wives.
The girl l love is American and she is amazing, ginger haired, talented and beautiful and I treat her with respect.
Aussie men on the other hand abuse and mistreat they're foreign women.
Aussie tourists in Asia I see were disrespectful.

I just posted thoese really negative comments about AUS awhile ago because I was speaking out of anger. I tend to say things I dnt mean when angry. I'm calm now.

last year am Iranian man was granted citizenship afer getting out of jail for murder???
the elderley get way less then the refugees... yet they built this nation
and not to mention the carbon and mining tax that will cause a ressesion and make it harder for families

Why do Australians continue a Monarchist form of government when you have been seperate from the Brits in a lot more ways than the Canadians? Just curious why you don't want a Republic by this time in history?

@jeff62rey Why should we become a republic? The monarch system in my opinion, and by 60% of Australians, is a fair system of government. A republic isn't going to make Australia more free, more fair or more richer. It isn't going to make Australia more friends or allies. With Australia being a republic and no longer apart of the Commonwealth of Nations, we would actually have less friends and allies. Any Australian who wishes to convert to a republic is either Irish by descent or stupid.

Respond to this video... Besides, no Australian government has the guts to convert Australia, especially in these bad global economic times. Our current Government in power is already unpopular as it is for making bad decisions. One more major slip up, Australians will have them booted out of office by the Queen. Under a monarch system, the Australian public have control. Under a republic, our government can do what ever they like and we can't do anything to stop them! We don't even have guns.
