  • I salute in the bath to this song. Because I am a real man, oh yes.

  • this...is my song.

  • I'm taking AP European History and we just finished the Age of Exploration. Something my teacher said (so very many times) a way to remember Europe's motivations for expanding to America was by remembering the 3 G's- Gold, Glory, and God.

So now, working on Euro homework I listen to this song and I only just now hear the lyrics "...we sailed the open sea for Glory, God, and Gold, the Virginia Company" I perk up. I wonder if this is where my teacher got it from...

    I knew I loved that class :D

  • @BlackPhoenix00280 Pocahontas got it from your History Teacher... I am a history teacher, all history teachers have been taught to teach the "3 G's" since time immemorial.

  • John Smith I've heard amazing stories about him

  • @monny287 haha actually I got an 83 the professor was so impressed cause I was the only one who got the highest grade on it. (:

  • Awesome music in this movie.

  • Is that how people in England used to sing?

  • @SelenaandShuichifan I have no clue..........maybe....

  • did you know that the Virginia Company was actually two different stock holders in England? If you don't believe me, look it up on Wikipedia.

  • @AssualtgruppeVeir Right because Wikipedia is never wrong, and all the facts found there are 100% correct.

  • @Themothia2 He is right, and wikipedia usually is right.

  • @MajBlood He may be right, but wikipedia usually has distorted facts.

  • @Themothia2 Rarely. Wikipedia requires an account these days which deters a lot of jokers from editing it. Otherwise, all articles must be source anything not cited will be deleted within a day or two. Also, anybody can report incorrect facts. Overall, while I wouldn't use it for an academic paper, wikipedia is very informative and a good starting point. Have you used it yourself? Or are you just going by what pompous academic professors have told you?

  • @Themothia2 Actually, he is right. One governed over the south including what is now called Virginia and another had control of New England.

  • @AssualtgruppeVeir Actually yeah it was. The Virginia company was made up of two divisions: The London company and the Plymouth company. The London company settled Jamestown and the Plymouth company settled..well thats pretty obvious lol.

  • @AssualtgruppeVeir Actiually yeah. Im studying American history in college right now and there were two subdivisions of the Virginia Company. The first one known as the London Company settled in Jamestown while the Plymouth Company settled in what would be known as Plymouth Rock.

  • I love this song. My favourite Disney film. Although, the Virginia Company sounds like it really exploits people...

  • @ScabbiWeena That's because it did.

  • Wait a second?! I can't pluck silver off a tree in my backyard!! Thats bull the Virginia Company lied!!!

  • what i love about this movie is that the settler john smith has an american accent...despite the fact that the land hes founding is america o_0 mind fuck. oh and also hes played by a massive racist :D

  • One of the best songs from the film.

  • Very cool song. This song sounds like a song I have already. Still, it plays differently. My custom song is from one of my future projects.

  • @Tyronor You should put it in response to this video, if its similar i'd like to hear it lol

  • @Themothia2 Can't. Movie is not made yet and I do not own lyrics yet. I have it stuck in head. Story is called SUDDEN THRILL.

Screw the system, long live freedom. That is part of the song that sounds like this one.

  • This is my first!! :D
