I got a really good tip from an Italian gardener who grows huge garlic....he says to plant them and leave them outside in the frosty air for about ten days or more. Then you can bring them inside and they should be fine. This way you get bigger bulbs. They seem to like the cold. That's why you should plant them in October and let them stay in the ground or pot, all through the winter. Then in spring, they will grow big and healthy.
@bbsmith45 Huge buzzkill coming your way, they died. But only because I didnt make the comitment I thought I was going to make. This spring i'm doin 'er all over again. AND, I will be making videos agaain. Haha
Hi there! Good job with the video. You actually taught me something nobody else bothered to mention, the little green shoot!!! I will definately waite for a shoot before planting. Thanks again for the great vid. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you. I really appreciate the time you took to show us how to plant garlic indoors. I love garlic and will, absolutely, grow some indoors. Thanks again.
Did it work? Were you successful in growing in indoors? It's really cold and snowy where we live so growing garlic outside isnt really an option right now... Just wondering if it actually worked inside.
@joyarmyellis hey :) sadly it did not work :( but for 1 very stupid mistake on my part, i kept putting it off, until they withered and died :( i kept forgetting to water them! haha but im trying it again :) and i have a bigger pot and more cloves. so im gonna make a video within the next week showing it again :) STAYED TUNED! lol
you know i may just do that :) i was gonna keep em inside but i might put a few outside and keep some inside and compare the 2 sizes when there harvestable
@TheGardenkid1 Yeah you can plant them in big buckets with a few holes in the bottom so they don't drown in the rain. I grew my tomatoes last year by reusing buckets and I had a good harvest. plus some plants like cucumbers abd tomatoes need bugs to pollinate the flowers. So if they stay indoor you won't get any vegetables.
Hey, does your Mom know you snitched her garlic? That Spaghetti she was going to make tomorrow night is going to taste pretty bland now. LOL. I'm going to be starting some seeds inside tomorrow myself. I hope they do as well as yours. And I think I just may have to do up some garlic pots. I've never grown it before. -- Renée
i asked her if i could have it and she said ya that would be pretty cool and some of it was turning green and some of the stems were almost 2 inches out haha so perfect for planting :)
don`t worry about sunlight. A simple daylight is just enough to many plants. Room temperature (20`celsius) and avoid draft. Tablespoon of water daily approx. Spray your plants w/water.
Nice video! I remember when i was about your age I had pots all over my room with stolen cuttings (from the garden center) and plants that I'd talked my parents into buying me haha. Much more fun and interesting growing from seeds and such though:)
You're starting out great! Garlic is one thing I haven't decided on yet this year. I really needed to plant them sooner than I did las time. Maybe starting them in the house is the way to go. Looking forward to following your garden!
Perfect!! You're learning pretty quick. I clip a couple inches off the greens when they get too tall and dice them up into soups and other cooking. It doesn't hurt the plant at all. Just make sure you don't overwater them and they're gonna grow like mad. So you have pumpkins, peppers and garlic so far? sweet! At this rate, you're gonna pass me up in gardening in no time. LOL

Put your camera on the other side next time. Then viewers will be able to see more instead of the back of your hand. =)
