  • btw this song is called Korobushka .

  • by the way it's pronounced and sung with a choir, I'd say is the Red Army Choir

  • When I first heard this song in the movie I thought OMG it's the tetris theme!

  • this song is called korobeiniki. its russian and there tons of versions of this song! the original version is a folk version. i really dont know who played this one.

  • TETRIS IS SERIOUS BUSINESS

  • This sounds like "Lesi ortestral - Vodka fisa"

  • So you are as deaf as a board.

  • i love borat!!!

  • A comp. programmer was walking on a street... a brick falls on his head, "tetris" thinks the programmer:)

  • salute from borat from glorious people of kazahkstan!

  • no it isn't it is korobeiniki (tetris)

  • your an idiot

  • Sir,you are writing gibberish. It is a russian national song, called Korobushka.

  • this is a folk, old, russian song ! not kazakh, dear malcolmziel

  • Type this >>> Korobushka" Russian Folk song Bethlehem Music Fest Limpopo this is!

  • No, it isn't Limpopo...

  • What a tune! Shame no one knows what this version is called.

  • This is old russian folk song "Korobeyniki"

  • Thank you, but we have that part. We are just looking for the artist of this particular version.

  • Hey monge86, any progress on your side? I've been looking for this version for years now and found your vid. But I'm happy, I'm not the only desperate one.

  • nope nuthin. It was also featured in an episode of Alias.

  • Do you know, which episode it was? I mean, it's title?

    Cheers

  • Comrade, in America, you can find a party. In Soviet Russia, the party finds you. Eheh, jk. I will ask some of my Russian friends to identify this version of Khorobushka.

    Cheers,

    -Comrade Freax0r

  • Any update on that?

  • Unfortunately no, but I am expanding my investigation with the assistance of Comrades from the Former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan, Azerbaijan and Armenia. There will be better possibilities of identifying it and possibly obtaining an mp3. I will keep you posted.

    Cheers,

    -Comrade Freax0r

  • Have you tried looking in Borat's movie credits??? Surely you'll find the band there!

  • nope, already checked, nuthin there

  • Well, I'll keep an ear out for you. Korrobushka is one of my fav songs. :)

  • tetris

  • lyrics :

    ekh polñim polna korobushka

    yets i sisyets i par-tsha

    phozaley maya i zazno-o-bushka

    mala dyets ko-vo pletsha

    ....

  • its really easy , this song 'korobushka' is an song that is from the (genre) korobeiniki. from russia...

However... you ask who the artist is, probably nobody knows, its an very old folk song (as are all the korobeiniki-songs)! but the lyrics are made up by a poem named Nikolai Alekseevich Nekrasov.

  • I think the people doing this song, Korobushka, is called Ensemble Barynya.

  • Not unless they went techno-electric and got a drum kit!

  • pluto?

  • God damn, it seems the whole internet doesn'T know where to find this bloody song. We got to email the cohen guy himself !!

  • good video; WANKING USELESS COMMENTS! (except for xXhanniballecterJXx and xaviervonrottie )

  • The song is from a poem and was made by Nikolai Alekseevich Nersakov.

  • You can download the Mikhail Smirnov version, it's not the same one as the one in Borat but it is so good and it should satisfy your cravings!

  • All of all the comments here no one answered the question. I wish I knew, I have been looking for this one also.

  • I love the way people just arn't answering the question that has been asked but are truly impressed with themselves. I don't know the answer, however when you find out please post it up, this version is awsome!

  • Korobeiniki was arranged by Hirokazu Tanaka and used as the "Type A" music in the Game Boy version of Tetris.

  • To add on to that, the song is based on a poem with the same name by Nikolai Alekseevich Nekrasov.

  • the song is called korobushka it is an old russian folk song

  • This version of Korobushka is epic win.

  • Okay, it's an old folk song from Russia, it's called Korobuska, look it up.

  • Jesus do you guys even read his info? He says he already knows that the original song is Korobeiniki, he is asking for this particular rock arrangement.

  • For your info, no

  • Oh crap, I know this.

    I know it starts with a K.

And I know it's an old folk song.....

    Yeah got nothing.

  • It's Korobushka, also called Korobeiniki... look at the version by Misha Smirnov.... beautiful song

  • Oh there we go.

Yes it is. It truley is.

  • were did you get this song! i have literaly been looking for it for a while after i heard it on the Armenian channel in yerevan.

then i see it in borat and now i must have it or my ears will evaporate!

  • this was in Borat?! wow... i guys i didnt pay attention to the music.

  • the only thing we can do is call Sacha Baron Cohen and ask him ourselves.

i'll give him a ring later tonight

  • haha well? it's been a week since u posted your comment. any progress??

  • Check the film's credits.

  • its not from the movie, but from the series. And in the series credits, its sais nothing.

  • korobeiniki doesn't have an artist; it is a folk song. the artist who plays this, though, is hard to find. i looked it up on wikipedia, but it only said that it was a rock rendition used for the theme. nothing stated about n artist, sorry

  • it dose have an artist

    Nikolai Alekseevich Nekrasov.

it is based of his poem.

  • thanks man! i am armenain too!

  • It sounds kinda like mikhail smirnov but ive never heard this version before nor do i know where to get the full version :(.... try checking the borat DVD in the credits or something.

  • Ahh ffs, read the bloody info guys, I know its korobushka, but what is the ARTIST?

  • ha ha just today i was listening to a tetris midi file...im like wait isnt that borat?

  • Yup its a folk traditional national song, therefore no specific artist as it's made by the "folk" back in the day.

  • Aye, it's the korobushka, and there's a dance to it as well.

  • Well the song is called Karobuska, it's an russian folkmusic song, often played by Balalajaka orcestras.

  • this song is like drom the 1930 my grand gran mom know this

  • miii grandpa woul noo but hes in armenia sooo wen da next time i talk to him ill hask if i remember but anyways i love dis song sooo much i bought a gameboy and a tetris game with mii first paycheck!!=D lool i noo im crazyy but wuteva!! =]

  • sweet i am armenian too! but he wants to know the artist of this version he already knows what its called.

  • The only thing I think it may be is "Балаган Limited"

Its a Russian band and google says they recorded a copy of Korobochka some time ago. other than that, i have no leads.

  • Did any one found the name yet?

  • haha i heard this on borat and i never realized it was the tetris song until now. thats awesome!

  • why iz there a picture of pluto???

  • Well, it isn't the OZMA version; iTunes told me that.

I only know that the song/general melody itself is called "Korobeiniki". Wish I knew who the particular artist was, as I'd love to download this myself.

  • hmmm

this is not the Nikolai Alekseevich Nekraso vversion

    not the original

not the gameboy (well this is a duh lol with the vocals)

    so it must be

    OZMA

  • Russian!

  • Da Da, its russian, but who is the artist??

  • The author of the music is unknown, even tho the song is known to be based in the poem by Nikolai Alekseevich Nekrasov back in 1861.

  • Wow!! I Liked this sound!!!

    Russian or Polish?

  • Russian ;).

  • Nikolai Alekseevich Nekrasov

    He wrote it in 1861

  • that might be, but thats still not the band who plays this version

  • monge i am also looking for this version, i searched aloooooot and downloaded hell lots of versions, but still clueless about this one. it seems only sacha barren knows

  • the song was also on an episode of alias

  • That's right. I forgot it was the Tetris song.

  • Les Choeurs De l'Armee Rouge - Korobeiniki

  • no man, thats not the one, already have it. that version only features the red army chorus, no electric guitarrs, nothing

  • I was looking for the artist to this version too!
