  • RIP NINO ROTA

    RIP MARLON BRANDO

    RIP DON VITO CORLEONE

    RIP DON MICHAEL CORLEONE

    damn. all real man dying...

  • 4 people will receive fish wrapped in newspaper.

  • @SuperPony97 haha poor brasi (but actually he was a son of a bitch)

  • -بصراحة لماعرف نيناروتا الى غاية معرفتي بالعراب....موسيقى رائعة وقيلم اروع....تحياالى الفنانين الذين بحق يعبرون عنا حينما لا نستطيع.

  • @MsSoular i is terroras

  • He really surpassed himself w/ the Godfather, not that his earlier works weren't exceptional as well...

  • ВЕЛИЧАЙШЫЙ КОМПОЗИТОР!..

  • Im not a follower of classic music, but this guy bought his ticket to the immortality giving to The Godfather that exceptional piece of art.

  • Great soundtracks composer.

  • What a great gift the music of Nina Rota is! Thank you!

  • this was best used in the scene where michael embraces fredo at the funeral. it builds like crazy and releases all at once.

  • Its from the arrival scene to America of Vito

  • this is the theme for godfather 2.

  • "Ogni sua musica era un abito indosso a una principessa" ( Andrè bazin )

  • Rest in peace maestro

  • beautiful

  • Ci ringraziamo nino, spero che dove sia, stai riposando in pace maestro.

  • il maestro!!!

  • Merci!

  • He also wrote the score to Franco Zefferelli's "Romeo & Juliet" back in the early 1970s. If you've never heard this incredibly gorgeous soundtrack, you're missing out. It's breathtaking!

  • he was born to write this song!!

  • I just got done e-mailing my great aunt Nina Rota. I got a lot of information. It's the coolest thing being Ninos neice.

  • Nino Rota was a music genius.

We are grateful especially for Godfather's soundtrack.

  • oh and im michelle. not sally, if you saw my site. just to let ya know. =)

  • Nino Rota is my great great uncle. well my great grandma, who i call Nana, adopted Nina Willings or Nina Rota (she goes by both)and Nino is her real father. cool eh? i wish i had the chance to meet him.

  • What?? Nino Rota was your uncle?

    Are you from Italy?

The Godfather Sountrack is the best soundtrack I ever heard.

  • I think that's very cool. I've written Nina from time to time. She's very friendly.

  • really? that's awesome. i e-mail her sometimes and she's nice. it's so weird having people like nino in my family background, but it's a cool weird.

  • How much do you know of his? I have around 100 CDs by now. :| You can find some slideshows of his music in my profile. I'm Rota-crazed. :)

  • well, i know that my great grandmother, whom i call nana, adopted nina, whos real father was nino. she may be the real daughter of my nana though. i try asking my nana and she wont tell a soul the whole story. i need to watch the godfather. im 16 and have never seen it. sad i know. is it good?

  • Nino is actually the only classical and film composer who composed prolifically for both fields (around 150 in each) that I know of. He spent his first 20 years as a classical composer only. He gave us much more than the Godfather, including Romeo & Juliet and The Taming of the Shrew, the films of Fellini, several scores for Visconti, King Vidor's War & Peace, Henry Cass' the Glass Mountain and lots of chamber music, opera, ballet, symphonies, concertos, etc.

  • ...He went against the accepted norm of Italian 'classical music' from the '50s on, continuing to compose melodically, however he wanted, isolating from others but keeping true to himself and his belief in culture. He also was a director of a conservatory for the last 30 years of his life, including teaching the young world famous conductor Riccardo Muti. There's a lot to learn. :)

Perhaps my favourite film score of his is Il Gattopardo.

  • Thank you Nino!!!

  • BUT ITS ALL GOOD.

  • that's right, but too short. Rota's music is heaven on earth

  • it is too short :(

  • hello!!can eversone say me what the name of this super song is????

  • It is original music from the film "The Godfather 2"(1974), won Oscar(Nino was not present at the ceremony).

  • the song is called ,,the immigrant''. It's in the godfather 2 like you said, when Vito arrives

    in New York.

  • Many tx Boldark for this video! I loved Nino Rota from the Fellini's films. His music for Amarcord and 8 1/2 is such an integral part of the movies and of our feelings when we watch them. But now with this short documentary you've uploaded I appreciate Nino Rota even more and know where to look for more of his music.

  • fajny filmik i muzykaaje 10/10

  • i dont know what i have to say,, but this part of music is realy good.... nice introduction to nino rota

  • Very nice video for Nino Rota.

I came to appreciate his music because of one single article I read in a music catalog. It stated, "We loved Nino Rota's music BEFORE the Godfather movie ever came out."

I could listen to his music forever.

  • Thanks for your comment and opinion ;)
