for example, translated the first line of the german lyrics to english:

in german: Ich bin nur ein großer Träumer, doch ich weiß, es kommt der Tag

now, directly translate the first line of english lyrics to german

Will der größte Träumer sein, renne so schnell wie ich kann.

one have to customize lyrics from other languages, so that it sounds cool and keeps the sense at all.

I'd say this song could be done well in English, but the translation was taken too literally and the lyrics could have taken better liberties to maintain the pace of the song while keeping the same thematics and contexts. Other than that, the vocalist's wasn't good at all in regards to annunciation, tonal qualities, and vocal skill. I still think it could be done well in English but this attempt didn't simply cut it.

If you translate the song into english that is the literal translation.

The homework is not a real homework. It is basically this big problem about "who am I".

The "skin my knees" goes along with the meaning of even if I fall and hurt my self I won't give up and stand right back up.
